Just when you think Jackie Chan can't possibly have more new moves, he surprises you again. Shinjuku Incident is an amazing dramatic production which has great depth, characterization and realism. Gone are all the slapstick, asides and martial ballet dance. Jackie Chan plays an illegal Chinese immigrant who survives Japan by joining the gangs and rising in the underworld. The movie shows the racism and struggles that immigrants face with all the grey ethical and moral issues that afflict borderline worlds. This is a move of culture, romance and history. It is truly a classic.
