Fumbling Towards Ecstacy, the Albert Ballet production with music by Sarah McLachlan was simply divine. Emily Mohar, Ballet BC's executive director introduced the show. Sarah MacLachlan, songstress extraordinare, herself, was there. The dancers were flawless. Talent and skills galore. Choregrapher Jean Grand-Maitre's production was perfection. I loved the movie background and creative costuming
I had brought my friend George. He's originally from Alberta. A jazz musician, physician, poet and great fan of Sarah's music. It was his first ballet. He loved it. He admitted though, he'd thought the Alberta Ballet might show hockey scores throughout the performance. He also made me promise I'd not tell his grandsons he'd been to the ballet.
It was another great Ballet night in Vancouver. The Queen Elizabeth Theatre was packed. We were all on our feet cheering when the Ballet company came back to bow. The audience clapped louder when Jean Grand Maitre was brought on stage. When Sarah McLachlan joined, the applause was epic.
