The Canadian Author Associations Annual Writing Conference is being held this year, June 24 to 27, at the Harbour Towers Hotel, Victoria BC. This year's theme is, "Applying Technology to your Writing."
Patrick Taylor, http://www.patricktaylor.ca/author of "An Irish Country Doctor", is this year's opening breakfast Keynote Speaker.
Richard Wagamese, award winning Ojibway author/storyteller, http://www.richardwagamese.com/, will be the keynote speaker at the friday evening CAA Literary Awards readings.
Julie and Colin Angus, will be the keynote speakers on Saturday. Colin completed the first human powered circumnavigation of the world. Julie's book "Rowboat in a Hurricane" describes their Atlantic adventure. http://www.canauthorsvancouver.org/canwrite/bios.html#julie-colin-angus
In addition all day long there are presentations and workshops hosted by the skilled and famous. Munro Books will be on site as well. Publishers, editors, copywrighters and other 'usual suspects' will be present.
The adage goes that to get a job done 'give it to a busy man'. This year it was give it to busy women. Prolific poet, Jean Kay was this years tireless organizer aided by author and publisher Perry Wilson. These stalwarts will be on site to share their acquired skills on efficient multitasking before they ascend to the join the heavenly sororiety of Whirling Dervishes.
