June 4, 2020 Jumanji, Astronauts, Communist China’s Fifth Column

Confusion reigns with riots in the street stoked by Communist China’s Fifth Column and International Looter rings seeking the latest TV sets. It’s all happening while a couple of Astronaughts from Space X and NASA are advancing history with the latest manned flight. On the streets of New York women are pooping in public as a protest against their parents affluence.  The envy and greed are palpable.  Anxiety flares.  Already the poverty hits the third world because of first world truculence.  Black children facing starvation look at television images of Beverly Hills. Pedophiles salivste. A Brooklyn Democrat lawyer sets a government building on fire with a Budweiser Molotov cocktail.
I’m sitting in a virtual office in a northern rain forest. I’m trying to calm and reassure and keep the flow of medications coming: antidepressants, anti anxiety, anti psychotics, methadone, suboxone, naltrexone. anti seizure, viagra, cialis.  I am impressed with the acceptance and resilience of the mentally ill. There’s still  an increasing need for asylum.
When I’m not looking at a screen and talking into an iPhone, I watch birds outside my window. Yesterday nuthatches. The day before cedar waxwings.I walk the dog each day . Yesterday I saw an immature eagle. He seemed confused as to what he was supposed to kill.
Covid 19 is still with us.  The old and sick have continue in quarantine while the young and healthy return to work and play while others loot.  Herd immunity is hoped for. Moderna and Zeneca vaccines are promising.  There’s still nothing to fix stupid.  PM Trudeau continues his reign of pillage and the people love that he gives them free stuff, their futures, the futures of their children, the futures of their grandchildren.  Canada daily descends into communism.  Xi Jinpeng with the UN and George Soros wish to rule the world.  Trudeau turns his back on the Commonwealth and America and invites the Chinese Communist Party to work with him.  So far the sound of guillotines hasn’t come to Quebec.
It’s bizarre. This fictitious media reality drama, stranger than fiction, is funnelled into my bubble world through the same Satellite Internet that takes out my words of comfort and hope. The media creates crazy narratives. Competing industries of activism and marketing.  The new sacred cow is social justice. The worship of words like multi cultural and intersectionalism is reminiscent of a facelifted  70’s ‘running dog capitalism’ phrase book. The same old snake skins. Me first. Me first.  Ego and more ego.  I feel old as I listen and the young don’t.
I pray and meditate.  I pay more and more taxes. Notice that the price of meat has doubled.  Still I’ve running water, heat, sunshine, Gilbert’s seems better today, the heart medicine hopefully working. It’s been a long week.  I’m weary by Thursday.  Have meetings this evening.  Will rally.  The chaos in the streets is unsettling. I wish we had India’s Shacta.  Our legal system has to be overhauled and brought into the 2020’s.  Our parliament has been closed so politicians always fat cats are paid to languish in palaces.  The drugs and booze flow in a constant palace party  Sophie sings, ‘Let them eat cake!” No transparency.
I don’t know. It’s all hearsay. The more the media says President Trump lies, the more he twitters truth. Benghazi Hillary lost her appeal. Trudeau steals more guns. No ID is required to vote. Postrationalism truth is convenience. Taqiya helps.
Here I watch little birds and get bum shots because they turn at the last moment. They all have ADD.  At least the big predators sit still for portraits. It always was thus.
I’m hurting less today.  The pain was such I couldn’t breathe and lay for a while to let the spasm go. I took Tylenol and Ibuprofen and stayed still till the spasm passed. I wondered if it was when I lifted the piece of paper turning. It’s hard to walk.  I’m waiting for a special chair. Sitting on the couch working has been a special kind of stupid. It’s all psychosomatic. But the fear is less now. The tension passing.  Covid 19 is out there. It can kill me but I’m growing used to it like patients describedthe sounds of war in the streets of Sarajevo and the streets of Belfast.  I’ve hear so many refugees with stories of valour and shame.
Meanwhile I’m here watching little birds and walking my dog and have nothing to complain about. My mother would say that to us as kids. You have nothing to complain about when we would whine. If we cried in a mood she would say, if you want something to cry about I’ll give you something to cry about. The we would laugh. My mother Irish. My father Scottish. Both true Canadian.
My aunt would say count your blessings.
My mother would also  say ‘if you’re bored and have nothing to do’ you can peel the potatoes or clean the floors or do the dishes. That quickly got us out of the house. I spent my childhood handing wrenches to my father and my brother.  Back then being an assistant was a glorious thing. Now everyone is entitled to being a CEO.
I’m happy I suppose.  I’m not ecstatic. I’m grateful. It could always be worse. It could be better. I could have my own spaceship.  I could be a space archeologist looking for ancient technology on distant planets finding the secrets of new energy sources and meeting blue people. Perhaps my next life.
Here it’s good. Thank you God. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Angel Michael. Thank you St. Francis. Thank You Mother Mary. Thank you St. Thomas. Thank you Saint Peter. Thank you saints of all religions. Thank you joy and hope.  God bless all. May the long time sunshine always surround you and the good light within you guide your way home.

World Politics, Facebook and Media

I am hooked on politics these days. It's an addiction that I hadn't really noted until I realized it was the Grey Cup and I'd missed it. I haven't watched a single football game since the Trump Hillary sports extravaganza began.  I didn't miss hockey. As a Canadian, missing hockey would be seriously uncultured.

I sometimes think that the ancient Greeks and Italians nvented their Gods to comment on politics.  For most of the history of humans, Politicians have arranged for anyone who criticizes them to be killed or locked up.  It's only in Democratic Countries which have 'free speech' and 'liberty' that the State doesn't control the media.  In most countries of the United Nations  'journalism' is 'propaganda' like we have seen in the CBC.

Canadians call the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation News , the  Communist Broadcasting Corporation just like Americans and even the BBC call  CNN, the 'Clinton Network News'.  The Winnipeg Free Press, once a non partisan source of facts and news is long dead. In it's place the journalists of the world have opted for Pravda.

The fact is,all of this is way above my pay scale.

Justin Trudeau is a millionaire.  Hillary Clinton is a multi millionaire. Donald Trump is a billionaire.

The very thought that any one of these actually caring for me personally is grandiose.  They are politicking about what's best for themselves and their friends but trying to convince everyone they care for the little guy.

The oldest law of the world is the Chinese Law of the Fish. There are Big Fish and There are Little Fish. Little Fish must be fast and numerous.
'
I'm slowing down. I'm getting older. I'm not numerous. I'm just a fairly anxious little Canadian watching the government tax my income year after year until with all my best work years gone,  I'm wondering now about the security of old age realizing that all the promises about working hard and being taken care of in old age are probably no more likely to come true than all the other promises of politicians.  There is however horrendous government waste and mismanagement.

But the government employed love their high incomes, low work load and great benefit packages.  I don't blame them. But they don't realize that without Don Quioxtes like me and the Deplorables, they couldn't exist in their smug arrogance and luxury life styles.  Oh to be a fatuous fat cat yuppie again!

The Serenity Prayer goes - God Grant Me the Serenity to ACCEPT  the Things I CANNOT Change, the COURAGE to CHANGE the Things I CAN and the WISDOM to know the difference.

There is determinism or fate and there is free will. I don't really feel powerful like the Activists and Television Personalities.   I don't even know if these new Gods and Goddesses of Celluloid are real.  We 'assume' so much reality.

Each day I awake and truly have this 24 hours of likelihood.

What I 'cannot change' seems more considerable.  I have hope and plans and goals and it all seems to go slowly forward most days, maybe 'slouching towards Bethlehem' or 40 days in the Desert or 2 steps forward and one step back.   To paraphrase  St. Paul it's mostly,  'what I don't want I do and what I do want I don't do' .

It really is quite possible that EVERYTHING is beyond my capacity to CHANGE it.  Free will may well be an illusion. This THING may be a COMIC STRIP.

Listening to Justin Trudeau I feel like I am in a nightmare of karmic proportions. I'm old enough to remember his father.  I'm  watching him mouth his father's mistakes. I'm seeing myself when I was naive and young thinking Pierre,  with his red carnation as 'hip, slick, and cool'.  I was so 'smart' back then and actually thought everyone over 30 was likely an idiot.

I fear  My punishment  is to see Pierre's son doing the same communist totalitarian wasteful spending and swaggering that so offended my parents. Now I'm older I'm seeing the son do the same shit. What's changed is my perception.  I'm being 'tortured' seeing the errors of my past.  I'm having to confront the folly and arrogance of my youth.  Everything that Pierre Trudeau introduced to Canada seems obscene to me today.  And here I am old watching his son in this Twilight Zone/Black MIRROR fixed loop nightmare.  I don't seem to have any control of it.

Meanwhile the Trump and Hillary fight it out like the Greek and Roman Gods of yesteryear.   I see Trump triumph and feel after a year of the Political Verbal GAME there will finally be PEACE in the VALLEY no it's not over till January when Trump will be inaugurated. It's overtime.  And the show gets crazier by the moment.

But all I have to change is MY PERCEPTION. It's clearly not  a TRAGEDY. IT's a COMEDY. At Least a TRAGI COMEDY.  Trudeau is a joke. The HILLARY OBAMA SIT COM is coupled with the Trump Family Show.

I can't change it. It doesn't really affect me today anyway.  I could be hit by a bus tomorrow before the next episode..

Facebook is propaganda.  Zuckerberg has admitted he's skewed the reporting left.  All the mainstream mead 'cheated' with Hillary. People who are losers 'cheat'.  These are losers, but who cares, its just ENTERTAINMENT and distraction.  It's Carne and Magic and Politics.  It's money and power.

Donald Trump is President Elect.  Trudeau is Prime Minister. Neither of them is here in the Downtown Eastside Vancouver where I'm seeing patients.  None of them are here helping me convince my patients  to stop leaving this present reality for unreality.   Every patient I see has missed a  possible death of heroin.

I don't blame my patients their wanting to escape this reality.  Any escape from TV /Facebook/Media Reality may well be worth it.  I expect that Media is the cause of much of the rise in drug addiction in the world. That and the Climate Change fear mongerers.  Everyone is pushing fear and fear's consumer antidotes.

World Politics is a new form of Sports. It's just another media event.  Climate Change is just the weather girl on steroids shouting for attention.   The corrupt  UN wants more money for their segment of the NEWS.Merkel wants money. Trudeau wants money for his jet setting life style.  It's all taxation, high costs, graft and promises.  But it's not real.

Real is what I think it is.  Real is my feet and hands. Real is this day.   Real is my family and freinds. Real is this computer and my dog at my feet.  Real is the  really good soup I had today at the Heatley.

I will say the Serenity Prayer and hope to have the wisdom to focus on what I can change. I am the VOICE OVER on this COMIC STRIP.

I can change the VOICE OVER.  I believe that the WORLD IS UNFOLDING AS IT SHOULD.  I believe in a loving God who wants the best for me.

Everything else is way above my pay grade.

God is real and God is love. Thank you Jesus!

Random Thoughts on the News

The news continues to be more insane than the words of my most insane patients who I see day to day.  The lies of the media are beyond those that the psychopaths, sent to me by the courts, conceive. The competing claims of the various politicians are more fanciful than the insanity of my manic patients. There are countless promises and grand schemes that sound so like the most drug addicted patients who I see still spouting schemes despite being broke and homeless

I remember working in the asylum and a patient telling me that the bars on the window were to keep the world out.

"We're sensitive here and need a place to heal."

I read a book once where a man built walls around a little bit of beach. He put his bed and desk and table on the beach and looked back on the land.  Asked why, he said that it had been a mistake to come ashore and he wanted to divide himself from the world.  He was in his own way giving up on the amphibious and seeking something wholly fishy.

I can't help but think of Walden Pond and Civil Disobedience.  My Chinese friend asked me, "Are these interesting times."  I said yes, knowing what the Chinese say of those.  I believe so.  A curse and a blessing.

The hysteria rises.  The greed and fear of the authorities are palpable.

A genius and wise man told me that there's a struggle by the Globalists for control. They want to rule the world. One World Order.  A great empire of Arendt banality. Bureaucrats who see themselves with power and wealth and little risk to themselves. They are Brussels and Washington and Ottawa and Berlin.

I think of Leonard Cohen's songs. Not Hallelujah. We're getting to that. No, rather 'then we take Berlin.'

Germany has risen again as a caricature, a frightening clown face.

"Hillary is sick and dying. Some say it's Parkinsons.  One doctor insists she has a brain tumour. I think it's just end stage alcoholism but she can't last long.  She has seizures and needs help up stairs and is always falling."

"Do you think they'll attempt an assassination, blame it on Trump.  and then get Cain in."

The name Cain is biblical. The stories of the Torah return.

"It's known George Soros wants to destabilize the west. That's the Islamic invasion. Not for the sake of them but as a means to impose civil war and authority.  Armies invade, like Hitler into Austria, like Putin into Ukraine, like America in to Cuba, claiming to assist  Always they are there to help, not to invade and conquer."

Public perception. Marketing.  The Devil wears Prada.

Climate Change is a hoax.  They're taxing the air we breathe.  All this is true but what's really new? The Emperor has new clothes but in this case it's the Voter has new clothes and everywhere the voting is changed to disenfranchise.

The Chinese shout down reporters. Their anger is palpable like the wrath one feels in the presence of a Hell's Angel Biker when you question the ownership of their motorcycle.

Steal a little and they put you in jail. Steal a lot and they make you king. (Dr. Johnson).

It was ever thus.  So has anything changed.

Yes.  I'm getting older.  I have to pee more often. My right hand shakes from the injury to my cervical nerves from vehicular crashes and carrying books and books and more books by the thousands over the years in a satchel on that right side. Today I try not to carry anything on that side and drink coffee with my left hand.  Getting my hair cut the other day I looked in the opposing mirror and saw that I had a bald patch coming at the rear of my head. I'd be so much aware of the receding hair line that I'd not considered to look on the other side and seen that the age police while kicking down the front door but had staked out the back door as well. There is no escape in this world.

Death stalks. Old age creeps. These are the changes. Not out there. I am reading histories with glee seeing how little has changed. Same play. Different characters. The Bible remains the best though.

Thank you Lord Jesus.

Moderate Moslems

Of course there are moderate moslems. There are Moslems saints and wise men. There are beautiful Moslems and happy Moslems and Moslems who sacrifice their own lives to save the lives of humans who are not Moslems.
I feel badly that I have had to be critical of the misinformation and disinformation of our politicians and media.  Their cupidity about Islamaphobia and political correctness surrounding terrorism forces everyone to ask, “why are they lying?”  To know they are lying follows asking “Is Islam the religion of peace?"
Islam is no more the religion of peace than Christianity is the religion of love.  It has long been said that the founders of all religions would not going the religions named for them if they were alive today.  Further what people say and what people do is one thing.  What there followers do is quite another.  Mohammed was a warrior and a killer.  He did at times preach peace.  By contrast Jesus was a healer and a teacher who did not kill and did preach love.  Buddha was an elite prince who renounced the world and became a monk who encouraged non violence. Abraham and the other founders of Judaism including Moses and David were patriarchs, kings and warriors.  Some were prophets. And all religions have martyrs. Hinduism is a polytheistic mystical religion begun in the times of warriors but carried forward by ascetic monks and sages.   Confucianism which some say is not a religion but more a philosophy was begun by a eurocrat working for a warlord.
History is made for the winners of wars.  We don’t hear much about the Quakers, a particularly non violent group of Christians any more than we hear much about the Sufis a usually non violent group of Muslims.
The fact is violence is the work of men and women who want power.  Having power they want to retain it and use religions of all stripes to maintain it.  They justify their violence and greed with religion. In the case of the atheist communists they don’t say a prophet told them but instead say their guru Marx or prophet Lenin told them to kill everyone who doesn’t agree with them.  Robespierre an anti-Christian deist was behind the French Revolution killing tens of thousands of his enemies.
Triangulation is a psychological defence in which one individual abdicates from responsibility of their actions one to another by attributing their behaviour to a third party. Today if an individual told me he had attacked me because his voices told him to, I’d consider him insane.  However, many a world leader has attributed violence to ‘voices’, “laws’, ‘committees’, “Gods”, ‘the people’, and today maybe Aliens, all as a means to confuse and control.  No one is certain whether or not it’s worse if a world leader actually believes his own shit or is just using this for the benefit of power acquisition and justification for treating others poorly.  A common ‘defence’ is the ‘greater good’ and for the future. Today all manner of shit is being said on behalf of the ‘future’ and for ‘the planet’.
In terms of logic and fallacy it’s always an ‘appeal to authority’.  There are also laws on earth for the rich and the poor.  The judges who would disagree would themselves be killed.  The winners write history.  The losers, lacking tanks and jets, create the best propaganda and makes the best promises.  They usually have maternal sexy babes with lose morals. The appeal for young men is a sort of mixed of sex and authority thing.  This is not to say that the rulers don’t have their share of “honey pots’ but the women of the ruling classes are more likely to say something like “give them cake’ rather than listen ad infinitum to their rambling intellectualism.
To the best of my understanding, Moslem countries are generally conservative.  It is worth remembering that secularism broadly speaking, the separation of ‘state’ and “religion” is condemned by Muslim intellectuals, and further in most Muslim majority states even where there is secularism there is a parallel court system of ‘sharia law’.
(Canada is definitely moving in this direction with their aboriginal or pagan court system parallel to the mainstream secular court system.  There are also some ‘sharia court systems’ in Canada but no Catholic, Christian, or Buddhist court system showing the fundamental break down of equality and freedom in Canada as just one example of devolution of western secularism. In Europe sharia courts are proliferating just as ‘gang’ justice proliferated in former communist countries after the fall. )
The most liberal of the older Moslem countries appears to be Turkey, Tunesia, and  Egypt.  It is worthwhile to note that these states, though Muslim majority, are under attack to Jihadists indicating how costly it is to be a ‘moderate’ Muslim or indeed a secularist Muslim in the world today.  The Jihadists are equally if not more hysterically enraged by their brother Muslim’s who refuse to accept their dictatorship.
(This is not surprising given that the French revolution killed tens of thousands of their own people while the various communist revolutions killed millions of their own people who disagreed with them.  Indeed “either you’re for us or a gin us’ is neither religious or secular but equally revolutionary as the standard revolutionary argument,  ‘if you don’t agree with me, I’ll kill you’.   ‘Ad hominem’ rhetoric or attack on the person in debate  causes  ‘forfeiture’ of the logical argument  because a long long time ago men realized they couldn’t have a decent game of golf without agreeing that anyone who starts hacking the competition with swords or axes might well live but he will never be respected as a golfer.”
When we think of Conservative or Liberal we general think of freedoms that the citizens have.  Iceland is often touted as a very ‘free’ country but it has to be remembered that comparison of countries is difficult without consideration of the countries make up.  Iceland is a white tribe whereas both Turkey and the US are nations of many different racial and political groups.  Mexico its a conglomerate of Indian groups plus the later European immigrants.
So ‘freedom for the people’ in general really took off in the 1800’s  with the American (1776)  and French  Revolution. The British Magna Carta (1215) before it had nothing to do with the peasants but rather challenged the divinity and authority of the king versus the barons.  This is like democracy itself which was developed by the ‘lords’ and ‘landowners’ of ancient Greece.  The Christian Suffragette movement extended the ‘vote’ to women like the American Civil War extended the ‘vote’ to blacks.  A key questions is always ‘who are the people’ and further ‘who can be the leader’.  In aboriginal society it was common for there to be ’slaves’ and for non tribe members to be considered ‘other than human’.  This is going on today in Canada where an immigrant Sihk is the defence minister of Canada but a US presidential candidate born in Canada is being questioned as whether or not he is an American.  Most nations in the world are highly restrictive, incredibly nationalistic, tribalistic and racist in this regard.   Some say that the Desert Spring of the Middleeast was the civil war and political uprising of the common people that was occurring 200 years later.
Moderation has described the way countries deal with dissent.  Some countries behead dissenting individuals while others jail them.  Others have a wide variety of means for individuals to be critical of their own government.  I’d personally be jailed or beheaded, I believe, in any other country but Canada where Justin Trudeau is our Prime Minister.  I don’t doubt either that Mr. Justin Trudeau would wish as Mr. Harper his predecessor might wish that ‘beheading of dissidents’ was a Canadian ‘custom’ given the rude criticism our extraordinary leaders are subjected to.   Canada has freedom of speech like England and like American.  Few Muslem countries are moderate in this way.
But yes there are very moderate individual Muslims. I know some who are outrageously radical.  They are living in the west because they do not believe they would do well in the countries they have left.  They are ‘cultural’ escapees. They have come to Canada for the freedom they didn’t experience in the Moslem culture in their home.  They prefer the freedoms and moderation and liberties in Canadian culture and they surely do not want Sharia Law or for the culture they left to become dominant in Canada or the west.  They are in many ways like the Puritan Christians who left England because of religious persecution by the State Religion of those who questioned the authority of the church leadership and wanted a more democratic religious church.  The authoritarianism of the Catholic church with the Pope gave rise to the religious wars that begat Protestant Christianity with is nationalist churches as well as it’s presbyterian and congregationalist churches.  Today the fastest growing community Christian churches are in many ways the most democratic with ministers selected by the congregation and voted on rather than being appointed top down by the centralized church authority.    Most Muslims I know  came to get away from the authorities and restriction there and love their new home. Commonly immigrants cite ‘corruption’ in their former countries and a desire to make a ‘new start’ in the country they are going to.  This doesn’t mean that there is no corruption here but the corruption is different and consequently there is more ‘opportunity’ here.  Not uncommonly there is movement back and forth with regard to economic refugees and whole classes of individuals like the ‘gypsies’ who reject national boundaries all together to the great consternation of those most invested in national boundaries. Indeed the countless trade agreements these days is a direct consequence of the entrenching corruption associated directly with ‘boundaries’.
My Muslim friends here are more Canadian than I am in that regard to their appreciation of the freedoms we know in Canada. h.
I just regret that we all have had to look at the numbers and the risks that exist because our media so commonly is interested these days in selling war while some of our political leadership are most interested in selling to the lowest common denominator.
The result is lies.
There are a whole lot of radical muslems.  Wahhabism sect of the Sunni Muslem, preached as a central tenet of mainstream Saudi Arabia  are fundamentally anti freedom, anti western, anti secular, jihadist and commonly utterly disrespectful of other religions and cultures. The salafists are jihadist until proven otherwise.    The aim of these Muslems is world domination in the same way that Hitler and the Nazi’s were world domination or Stalin and the Communists.  To them Muslim is a religion of peace means quite simply when all the world is Muslim and "we are in charge” and “we have killed all who won’t convert”,  then we will have peace.
Most moderates believe in a balance of power.  Moderates respect respect  religious freedom. I love that I have Muslim neighbours, Buddhist neighbours, Hindu neighbours, Pagan neighbours, Jewish neightbours,  Christian neighbours and even atheist neighbours.  I like all the colours of the rainbow.  I love the diversity that we know in Canada.  I know there are those who want only to eat cereal for breakfast and insist everyone else eat cereal for breakfast like they do but I like choice.  I really am a big proponent of freedom and choice for individuals and communities.  I am a Canadian.  I like that I can joke with my moderate Muslim friends about ‘all roads leading to Rome’ but that Christians will have the better housing district and Muslims will have to live on the other side of the tracks.  They say they will have the virgins and I say I will have the music and maybe one virgin.  We don’t kill each other any more than I do with my female Buddhist friend who at the same time tells us men that she believes we will not get to heaven in the next life but rather will reincarnate as pigs.  To which my Hindu friend insists that he was a pig in a previous life and that’s where he learned his bad habits.  My Catholic friend loves bacon but doesn’t like this talk of pigs.  She rejects Jews and Moslems because she love her bacon.  And such a conversation among friends can occur in Canada among a group of deeply spiritual and religious individuals who are moderates.  I don’t know any fanatics.  I expect if I did I’d have to kill them before they killed me.  So as a Canadian I prefer peace because I can get on with science, loving, community and art rather than devoting myself to watching my back and killing the fanatics before they kill me.
I am a physician too.  Physicians commonly say ‘moderation in everything.’  So I like my moderate friends and am skeptical of my extremist friends.  I have no fanatic friends but I certainly have friends whose behaviours and thoughts are extreme by my personal rather conservative behaviour and thought. I am however most skeptical of those that lie especially politicians and the media. Lying people in power scare me.  Scaring people pushes them to  extremes.  I therefore wonder why some people in power who lie and deny legitimate concerns and threat are so anti moderation and in favour of war.  That concerns me. I’m less concerned about my moderate Muslim friends than I am about liars in general.   All my Muslim friends are equally concerned about radicals and extremists as I am.  None of my moderate Muslim academic doctor friends favour jihadists.  The moderate muslim psychiatrists I know think they’re psychopaths.  Why are our political leaders and their media not equally concerned?  That’s what concerns me? Indeed as my moderate muslim friends are against the fundamentalist and extremist muslims, those who don’t wish to integrate into Canadian society but rather wish to dominate and subjugate Canadian culture or isolate and plan jihad, then quite simply the enemy of my enemy is my friend.  Hence the Jordan pilot,a muslim, and the Kurdish women brigade, muslims, are my friends.
My concern is whether my leadership or their propaganda media are my friends?  I thank them only so far as their own violence has helped me clarify who are really the enemies of peace and the enemies of Canada and western secularism.

I survived another day of CBC News

The absurdity of media today has gone beyond the pale.  Every day the CBC cries the ‘skies falling’ but never do they make a retraction.
They insist that the IPCC is a ‘consensus of scientists’ yet because of the shoddiest of political patronage this turns out to be a complete fiction.  The Professor Emeritus of Meteriology at MIT says that these Climate Change ‘alarmists’ aren’t even scientific. He says they’re a cult.  So does Environmentalist Patrick Moore, the founder of Greenpeace, the greatest original  environmental movement of our time.  Then there’s the odd Nobel Prize Winner who happens to think these folk at the United Nations are political frauds.  I have to do the least amount of research to find that this is all apparent to everyone because it tweaks my curiosity as a scientist why CO2, the breath of plant life is suddenly being demonized and there’s this misinformation about ‘greenhouse gases’.
Meanwhile Justin Trudeau has named a cabinet Portfolio " Environment and Climate Change".  This is like saying the “Portfolio of Justice and Waterboarding” or “Portfolio of Medicine and Leeching.”  This is the very problem of politics these days.  I like Justice but I don’t like waterboarding. I like medicine but Leeching is nonsense.  Environment is important and I’m all for stewardship of the planet’s resources.   Global Warming is man made political fiasco.  The Paris Conference of Politicos just listened to pseudoscience for millions of dollars while reality is happening in the middle east.
Kurt Vonnegut wrote a novel once where the world came to an end only because fat cat politicians were eating extravagant dinners and producing such hot air that they missed a nuclear weapons attack.
Now in Cologne today I hear how hundreds of migrant men from North Africa and the Middle East systematically attacked and raped countless women in Cologne on New Year’s Eve.  We know that 1200 girls were gang raped in England, and the total may be closer to a million.   These were made up of  Muslim men.  We know that Boco Harem , a muslim terrorist group steals hundreds of girls for sex slaves. We also know that ISIS asked learned muslim Imans to confirm that it was alright for old men to have sex with 12 year old girls.  They responded that yes it was okay  but that they shouldn’t have sex with the girl and the mother at the same time.  But what is so absurd that only CBC could be counted on to report seriously,   is that the Leader of the German Feminists says she doesn’t want these hundreds of rapes of German women on the main streets of Cologne to cause Germans to think ill of the Muslim migrants from Syrians.
It’s alright for feminists  to condemn all men as rapists or at best potential rapists but never shall we say a Muslim man can be a rapist.
The next news item was a Senator Roxanne Persaud who is right out of the ‘theatre of the absurd’.  I listened to the CBC interview of her and thought compared to Donald Trump this woman is a total fruitcake.  She wants to propose a bill limiting the sale of ammunition in America so the NRA put a picture of her juxtaposed by a picture of ammunition. This Senator says that she knows that this is ‘a threat’ and an innuendo done purposely by the NRA because some of it’s ‘supporters’ have emailed her harassing letters.  She says that those who support the NRA are ‘irrational’ but a person who insists that she can perceive a threat in a picture of her and ammunition as a threat, when the bill she is proposing is about ammunist,  is herself not by any means sounding particularly ‘rational’.  Yet she insists  that people won’t talk to her.  I personally warn people to avoid talking to people who label you insane unless they are your doctor or psychiatrist.
But what’s worse , the CBC reports these stories, seriously.
I love the ONION.  It’s a media journal that presents news as ‘farce’.  You know when the NEWS is a FARCE with the ONION.  With CBC I know the NEWS is a FARCE but as ludicrous and absurd as it gets I really don’t think the so called journalists know this.
Thank God though I survived another day of the CBC News.  .

(Now the CBC I loath is mostly News - to be clear I loved Vinyl Cafe on the weekend, and love Vinyl Tap, Ideas, tapestry and white coat black art.  apparently CBC saves this absurdity solely for those of us commuting at 8 am or 6 pm when they really do have the worst programming. Apparently programming is planned for the audience so it may be that the CBC believes the stupidest people listen to them at these times and I’m frankly the stupidest of them. I know better. It’s like looking for love in all the wrong places. CBC News is propaganda at best, ignorant at worst.  )

But I survived it, another day.

Abortion and Father's Day

Crossing Liffey River at HaPenny Bridge I realized that my life would have been so different were it not for the ME-DIA.  That information God owned by a few billionaire politicals intent on frightening me and misrepresenting reality for personal gain.
It was Father’s Day and I was grieving abortion.  Remembering begging her in tears not to kill our baby.  All the while she laughed and said ‘it’s my body”.  She’d been concerned that it would affect her appearance. It would interfere with her career.  I begged, cajoled promised and then she was angry. Even more angry when after I didn’t return her calls.   I’ve known no greater Hate Crime in my own life. There’s never been Hague case though.
I’m not a bad guy. Just one of millions whose world exploded.  I remember finding she’d cut off the tip of the condom.  She told me she was taking birth control. Then there was the marriage and I begged her for children.  Wanted so badly for family. She called me ‘daddy’ and I knew she never wanted to be a woman.  It was so good to be a girl.  The ME-Dia says Women are out and Girls are in.  My mother was like nothing in Sex and the City.  My mother may as well have been a kazoo player too. She was married to my father, and my  family as persecuted as Paraquay.  Unfashionable unmentionables,
I never showed up in the Media.  I played kazoo when everyone was playing guitar. There was no sexy hot kazoo band where the girls swooned.  The cameras would have been there and even reporters.  But somewhere in the cigar filled rooms where old men and old women wrote the world, kazoo players were out and guitars were in.  I watched my friend’s banjo get sidelined as well.
I'd  listen to  unnamed band and like the music.  Before they were remixed. Street musicians attracted me.  Loners. Outsiders.
Every once in a while I’d cheer because a lacrosse game would be covered.  Maybe the darts scores would make the news.  Something that would change the soccer monopoly. A woman’s game, perhaps.  Sometimes badminton would be covered. I’d envision revolution but it was all so quickly silenced. Basketball would come back on the next night, maybe a hockey game, then more soccer.  They called it football in America.  They called it multicultural, praised diversity and said we had such choice.  A ball is still a ball whether round, oblong or oblique
It was all about the bets.  Gamblers had their preferences.  Curling wasn’t the scene in Macao or Los Vegas. The ME-Dia men fancied themselves as blood sports sorts.  Extreme combat was more important than spelling bees.
That day on HaPenny Bridge though, I realized they weren’t. Not in the grand scheme of things.  Not where it mattered.  A poetry contest among the Inuit was just as important as France's Napoleon and Englands’ Waterloo.  Regina Saskatoon wasn’t ever in the news not because it was somehow less than but just because it wasn’t where the ME-dia communication gambling cigar smoking whiskey drinking effetes lived.  These cowards didn’t have their own lives. They survived on living through ours.
The most important things about my life had never been shared on the news.  Intimacies and secrets and the sorrow of abortion. They were the tears at a celebration. And I thought of all the men I knew who’d lost their children.  Good sorts of men, more than 50%.  All portrayed as ogres and evil.  Like the Germans who fought in a war with the Allies but stopped one Christmas their Me-dia game of us and them to play instead a game of soccer out in that no man’s land.  ME-Dia kept that moment secret for decades. It only sneaked out one day like a burst of cello at a rock and roll concert.
ME-Dia sorts are just loud.  They’re often drinking and doing drugs and high on their own fallacious success, their killing the stocks and their passing dominance.  Quaint little cowards just like the rest of us but with News Rooms, and Television Studios and Reuters and fixed newspapers and rigged outlets. " There’s no room for original.”  they say,  " We’d rather have another star that looks like our last one so we can gauge in focus groups what the return will be on our financial investment,”  The world has been in a news and entertainment loop for decades.
Education returns less than entertainment.  Give them cake. Give them pot.  Give them large arenas with blood sports.  The bigger the better, the louder the richer.
And days of celebrations.  Where always there are those who cry. Like all those fathers whose sons and daughters have died in all those countless wars and all that needless crime.  Father’s day is the worst day of the year.  I miss my own Dad now dead and remember her proud and haughty look as she told she’d had the abortion and wanted me to be there to ‘support her’ .
And to this day I’ve paid a fortune in taxes to support families and children. I’ve helped countless fathers with their futures knowing I have none of my own. I’ve carried on playing kazoo Today I know I’m not alone.  Today I know that the ME-Dia gods are fallible.  They miss countless stories and long ago stopped getting it right.  They’re spreading the war. They’re creating the destruction. They are the cause.  Not because the people want to know.  But because a few old men and women want to win in casinos and can’t help but let the truth be told.  So information is reduced to sports. And it doesn’t matter how many cowboys are playing quoits, it’s just not going to covered any more than square dancing no matter how many are doing it.
At every celebration there are those crying like I am.  We’re too grey and messy for the black and whites. I’m not so angry with her.  My rage, or sadness, is directed more at them. Like an Amenian or Rwandan who survived a holocaust but finds their number not on the holocaust hit parade this life time.  It’s like South America that’s all but forgotten by the BBC.  It’s like she didn’t know what she was doing.  Following some program she never could be real.  And their are times when I walk among the dead like the only living, feeling like I am the last sentient among the shiny smiling robots.  But I’m not alone.
The ME-dia died long ago and life moved on. The multi faceted diamond in the rough was polished by the light.
It was a fleeting thought. I remember I was crossing Liffey River on HaPenny Bridge.  I’m surprised that I remember it.  The noise of competing programs, they are called programs, we are being programmed, usually drowns out the wee small voice. It was the wee small voice.  That’s what it’s called for a reason.  It’s still there.  Like the idea of you.  A dead baby in a stainless steel sink.

National Post and Andrew Coyne

I never seem to have the luxury of lying in bed reading the newspaper.  Gilbert licks my face. If I'm not at Laura's or awake before Laura I have to get his bladder and bowels outside. Then I'm usually downing a morning coffee, showering and shaving and rushing off to work. On weekends there's as many chores and activities that follow the slobbery dog tongue to face alarm clock.
This weekend we are at the Ramada Executive Hotel in Harrison's. I'm fighting a cold and my back is  still recuperating from rolling an ATV.   Rest and relaxation has been forced on me.
After the slobbery tongue alarm clock I walked the dog across the street to the cafe and returned with life refining coffee and delicious egg and bacon breakfast sandwiches. The Ramada had a complimentary National Post newspaper.  I don't usually read the newspaper. I've taken to getting the news via the Economist, BBC on line, CBC driving to work though that as commonly angers me, and word of mouth leading to google searches.
With sandwich done,  still drinking coffee I "read the newspaper'.  Who would have known?
I was blessed to grow up in Winnipeg and read the Winnipeg Free Press. Travelling in my 20's overseas I fell in love with the Manchester Guardian weekly.  Living in San Francisco I read the Chronicle and actually enjoyed a weekly diet of Hunter S. Thompson in the raw.  Back in my University heydays and former luxurious marriages I even lay in bed weekend mornings reading newspapers from around the world I'd picked up on the way home Friday night from news sellers. I always read news magazines, The World Press Review a favourite when it lived, the Economist a mainstay, and Manchester Guardian Weekly, with Le Monde and Washington coverage thrown in.  But living in Vancouver I was more likely to appreciate news written in the Georgia Strait than the Sun or Province.
Nationally the Globe and Mail floundered and occasionally I'd glance at the Post but never really read it. Like my father read the newspaper, cover to cover.  Dad read the Winnipeg Free Press as a ritual and today at 93 remains  perhaps the wisest man I've ever known not because of arcane knowledge and bits of pieces of jargon or celebrity names but because his remarkable critical thinking.
The Winnipeg Free Press was really an education in critical thinking and probably explains alot about the sometimes brilliance of Winnipeggers when it comes to understanding and assimiliating diverses topics from politics to law, religion and medicine.
I've just read 2 full days of the National Post and damn if it didn't take me back to the halcyon days of the Winnipeg Free Press.  The spread of information was encyclopedic but the relevance was profound. Every one of the stories I'd heard this week were touched on but expanded on in a way that radio sound bites simply cannot do.
I don't know who the editor is but he's obviously a genius.  Some of the best writing I've read in years was represented. Fascinating story about a white guy whose family history from DNA turned out black and jewish because of grandparents who fled persecution.  The Vic Toews case. The Saudi funded Missassauga Iman who spews anti Canadian rhetoric to promote a narrow 'fundamentalist' Moslem viewpoint that inflames youth to acts of violence. A great discussion of the discrimination against mentally ill in media.  The fall out from the Squamish alpinist purist taking garbage (Italian spikes)  off an Argentine mountain top causing international furor.  All really captivating stuff.
But the creme de resistance is this fellow " Andrew Coyne".
In a discussion of Justin Troudeau's rant and retraction Coyne made this comment that really captures the problem of the New Canada.  "the seeming inability of many members of the Liberal party in particular to acknowledge the legitimacy of the Conservative government. They are not merely a government whose policies some find disagreeable - they are beyond the pale. They are quite literally, anti Canadian. This is what comes of spending time with people who think in exactly the same way as you. It becomes impossible to imagine how any rational person could think otherwise."
How perfectly Andrew Coyne has captured the new Canadian mindset of psychotic paranoia masquerading as intelligent dialogue.
Andrew Coyne has speaks to the balkanization that lost the liberals the election and stole it from the grasp of the NDP despite the profound efforts otherwise of Layton.  It gets down to 'shame'.  If you disagree with me your 'opinion' isn't just wrong 'you are wrong'. This was the cornerstone of the radical feminist movement and central to the gun registry folk who profiled anyone who owned a gun as a white male and a baby killer.  Meanwhile Canadian women are takin all the awards for marksmanship around the world while their bitching sisters don't acknowledge them because they don't fit their 'profiles'.
Piagetian psychologists studying adults found that few had progressed to the 'abstract thinking' that Piaget noted in his very bright children by early adolescent. Most in fact stayed in 'concrete idealization' black and white categorization without any comprehension of the range of possibilities. That said 'relativism' the 'whatever' of today's pot head teens is not evidence of critical thinking.  Acknowledging diversity doesn't mean everything is 'equal' but rather that differences exist and are to be celebrated. However, Goreski remains the best hockey player not the best baseball player.
Now I learn that the great anti tobacco lobbyist Dr. Mark Segal who cost that satanic industry 10s of billions of dollars has pulled away from the extremism of the anti tobacco lobby because it has gone beyond science denying people the individual right to smoke outside.  There's no science to saying your smoke outside is hurting me yet there are those people who would argue that 'difference' is dangerous and deny any difference. They want us all to believe as they do and have no respect for diversity.  If you are conservative then you are the anti christ. If you are Christian you should be shot. The odd thing about this rhetoric is that 77% of Canadians are Christians and some 95% of Canadians believe in God.  Those whose 'religion' is 'aetheism' would claim this is 'secular' when to be 'secular' is not to be aetheist by any means.  The vast majority of Canadians decidedly spiritual collectively operate in a secular society but are wearied by the aetheists, materialists and the stupid bullies who batter with shame and rhetoric as logic and critical thinking seem quite beyond their primitive adolescent tribalism.
The Winnipeg Free Press taught a province how to think and I personally would today have Andrew Coyne required reading in all Quebec.  I fear that would cause more scandal than asking the belabored Quebec intellectual romanticists to read about transexualism on Valentine's day.
I may just subscribe to a newspaper again, the National Post,  for the first time in a decade. Admittedly I prefer the delete button on my iphone and ipad to carrying old newspapers out to the garbage. Gilbert however would prefer  we make more outdoor excursions so perhaps it's the least I could do to read more Andrew Coyne. Critical thinking does come at a cost.

Canada's War in Afghanistan

The Canadian troops are home. The heros are buried. The wartime marketeers are pleased with themselves. The media are jackals. The armchair philosophers grow fat.
I am thankful for the service that the Canadian Military performed. I was so embarrassed by the nit picking opposition while Canadians died in horrible conditions far far from home.  I have no memories of the soldier who died saving his platoon. I have no recollections of the men and women who fell in combat. Thanks to CBC and the opposition I'm left thinking there was something wrong with Canadians giving prisoners of war to their Afghanistan compatriots.  The Canadians were gentlemen and ladies compared to the terrorists who willy nilly captured westerners, tortured and killed them.  But all I recall are dead Canadian soldiers and the criticism they received for doing their duty.  I would have liked to have known the acts of heroism more.  I would have liked to have had coverage of the war such that today I could say what the campaigns were and where outside of Kundahar the Canadians served.
Now the jackals say the dead are wasted and the soldiers were fools as if this was Vietnam and they don't realize the world has changed.  Give a boy a hammer and everything is a nail.  I do believe the Canadians did wonders. I believe they showed Afghanistan what was outside of their primitive war torn tribalistic gangster world. I believe they showed them that women could be equals. I believe Canadians showed the world that we can fight as well and fair as anyone and we don't have believe in gangsterism and bullying and brutality.  I believe that NATO showed the people of Afghanistan that nations could cooperate where so often they are still fighting village against village. We showed that Canadians can fight too with less resources and less equipment and less support than so many others received.
The question is what would have occurred if we had not served NATO.  The critics would say it's okay to renege on our committments and mutual defense aggreements.  They'd gladly have England and France and Germany and the United States protect little Canada from the big bad bullies.  But other Canadians, like Prime Minister Harper, know the importance of participating in a global community and accepting that someone has to step in and show the bullies that there is a cost to terrorism.  Canadian troops stemmed the tide.
Were it not for the Canadians in Afghanistan I believe that the democracy demonstrations that occurred all across the east this summer would not have occurred. I believe that Ghaddafi would still be in charge in Libya and training terrorists to attack Israel, United States and yes, Canada.  I believe that were it not for Canadians fighing in Afghanistan China might well have invaded India again.
Without Canadians in Afghanistan, Afghanistan would now be joined with Iran and the worse faction of Iranian politics would be supported by the Taliban. Without Canadians in Afghanistan more women and children would have been sold as slaves and killed.
The Jihad would be further ahead and more arms would be sent to northern Sudan so that those Sudanese could kill the Sudanese Christians in the south.
Were it not for Candians in Afghanistan, Bin Laden would still be in charge of the Akaida and more pirates would roam the seas off the Phillipines.
Let's get real, Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan gave us all more time to deal with the increasing problem of terrorism and fundamentalism.  Canadians died and thanks to their deaths this country has had  freedom and peace.
Without Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan, Israel would have been wiped off the face of the earth taking countless Palestinians with them as 'collateral damage'.  Nuclear bombs would have gone off , for sure.
If Canadian soldiers had fought in Austria before WWII, Hitler would not have had the "peace' to build his armies that turned the globe into a war zone.  Canadians in Afghanistan served with dignity.  They saved the day.  The did their bit. Their contribution should not go unnoticed.  As a country we should be immensely thankful for their contribution to world security.
Alternatively we could disarm unilaterally.  We could dismantle the army and collectively become vegan and offer blossoms and scents to calm the barbarians that would come across our borders and sell the women and children into slavery.  We could offer  the next cannibal we meet with a fruit bar while we are at it. Otherwise we should view the world as it is and stay 'real' while admitting yes we should all get a long and sing 'kum ba yah' but some of us aren't quite there yet.   I am thankful that the Canadian military surely knows "kum ba ya' whereas our enemies don't. But I'm even more thankful that the Canadian miltary was able to go to war and hold it's own admirably.  The Canadian military deserve our respect and praise.

CTV - Canada's Trivial Voice

I just turned on the CTV to catch up on the election. The Sun Run made it next to impossible to get to church even if Laura, Gilbert or I were feeling particularly religious today. My face is swollen and aching from having a wisdom tooth out and Laura is down with the flu.  Gilbert, the dog, and I had already worshipped in his shrine of nature. He likes Christ Church Cathedral and St. Jame's Anglican because they're pet friendly.  He doesn't wear a watch so couldn't hurry us along as he needed a long  nap after our morning walk.
Church time passed.  I missed it. As God's retribution would have it I listened to CTV -Canada's Trivial  Voice .  Some silly facetious woman and an old guy had Gloria Galloway and Bruce Cheadle on the News.  Painful.  Everyone was liberal or NDP.  Not a good word was said about Steven Harper or the Conservatives except one thing.  He was winning in the polls. They actually asked with astonishment , how could he be winning in the polls and doing so poorly in the campaign.  Like most liberals they didn't question that their views might be the reason for reality being at variance with them. There's always that liberal arrogance to contend with.
Canadians like Steven Harper and the Conservatives. They've voted him into power twice now.  In baseball 2 strikes would put the Coalition of Quebecois, Liberals and NDP out. But no they want to have a third kick at the can, at the cost of $1.5 billion dollars an election, for Canadians who have twice and now will say a third time, We Like Steven Harper and the Conservatives.  The Conservatives like young people and Steven Harper's partner is extremely popular with the women.
The only serious aberration in Canada today is the media. They were like the Tenured Professors at university who always encouraged revolution so long as it didn't affect their pensions.  These old academics sacrificed student willy nilly with their silly fat ass armchair liberal/NDP revolutionary rhetoric.  Isn't it time that Canada got a world class media.  Something like the BBC or at least like the US which has yahoos from the right and the left. Here in Canada all we have is yahoos from the left.  Actually there is a Canadian media which is responsible and that's the business media, trade media and the practical how to medias.  Mainstream media unfortunately has been trying to be 'reality' tv when most of it's reporters are living in 'dreamland'.
I am appalled that Canadian media can be so utterly left wing yet block Fox which was the right wing competitor the Canadian media collectively blocked from entering Canada.
I had to go to BBC again to find out that Steven Harper is doing well on the campaign trail.
CTV showed a clip of Ignatieff screaming angrily 'Rise Up, Rise Up." Some left over hack from the 60's with brain fried from LSD must have thought this made  Ignatieff good.    Bruce Cheadle tried to apologise for Ignatieff's upper white class American mockery of a poor black gospel missionary's fire and brimstone sermon.  The original sermon, knowing Southern Baptists, would probably have been given to the congregation because the minister heard one his sheep  had backslid and voted for the likes of Ignatieff in some southern election.  Because Ignatieff is so uptight in his $5000 suit, he looked like Celine doing rap.  Silly.
Now I'm biased.  I've declared my bias. What offends me is that the Canadian media does not. At least I can watch CNN and know it's left of centre and Fox News and know it's right of centre. There is no centre in Canada. It's just left and occasionally these days the CBC touches the edge of centre. CTV Question Period was out there with Mao and Stalin and the worst of shaming and blaming and put downs and slant. CTV Question Period is really scarey.  Gloria Galloway is even more frightening. These people actually think they're objective or that Canadians are stupid. They certainly think Canadian women are stupid by the way they were talking about them. Worse they actually thought that Canadian young people were stupid enough their left wing hustle.  .
The Canadian young people are going to the Conservative site and the Liberal Site and the NDP site on the internet. Like the Egyptians they have given up on mainstream media.  I wish I'd gone to church. CTV is a toothache.  Gilbert slept right through it.

CBC - Communist Broadcasting Corporation

Canadian media has historically been left of central for decades.  I had hoped this was changing with the CBC.   This morning I listened CBC for the 3/4 drive to work hearing the news and morning coverage. Conservative leader Steven Harper had just visitted Vancouver. So had NDP Michael Layton.  Normally good news coverage will be provided for those present.  This was not the case.  Ignatieff, the pro Quebecois, Liberal leader was given more time than either Harper or Layton or perhaps even Harper and Layton together.  Pathetic!  If this is a harbinger of the national radio's coverage of this election then really I don't think we as Canadians should have to pay for this.  Bias is often subtle and contrived as such.  A strong soundbite from one leader is coupled with a weak one from another ignoring the two equally powerful statements that could have been chosen. We really have to watch our media carefully.  Admittedly my 'sample' this morning was 3/4 of an hour but historically the CBC was grossly offensive in its anti- West, pro liberal bias.  The Conservatives actually cut the CBC budget because it was so irrelevant nationally and wholly Toronto and Montreal focussed.  Now we're likely at risk of seeing 'payback'.  I'm not impressed.

Someone needs to seriously monitor media coverage of this election.  The media blocked Fox News but said nothing about the Toronto-Montreal rag Globe and Mail claiming national status.

Today I was just disappointed.  Hopefully I'm wrong. Hopefully Canadians won't have to settle for the kind of Propaganda that has citizens around the world wanting 'democracy' which implies 'freedom of speech'. But where is there 'freedom of speech' and 'free media' when the media is wholly controlled by a special interest group.
