Political Correctness, Lord Love a Duck!

Political correctness is the false belief that one can pick up a tourd by the clean end.
Freedom of speech is essential so that doctors can tell patients that they have cancer. Once a thing is correctly named there is a possibility of cure.  However if we are denied the right to speak truly of the disease then of course the poor will die.
Language is important  despite the fact that today ‘marketting’ prevails. Recently the spin doctors of the Liberal government called the ‘immigrants’ ‘refugees’.  The common Canadian, especially the most uneducated and inexperienced who were attracted to the Satanic appeal of Justin Trudeau and the Trudeau charm, did not know that there is a vast and critical difference between a ‘refugee’ and a ‘migrant’.
A migrant can indeed be an ‘invader’ and many of the ‘migrants’ in the recent refugee scandals have indeed been invaders, a fifth column of the Islam Caliphate.  Many also have been the adult children of wealthy families using the ‘refugee’ route to immigration to by pass and jump the queue of the conventional ‘immigration’ systems.
A refugee is a person who goes to the first country of escape.  The Harper Conservative government resettled millions of Vietnamese becaus not only were these people refugees but they had been the allies of the American and Canadians in the war between Capitalism and Democracy and Freedom versus the Communism and Slavery.  The Vietnam war was won by the soldiers on the ground but lost by Hollywood, Hanoi Jane and the ‘marketting” media which effectively undermined the war effort at home.  Drugs, sex, and rock and roll , love in’s, and peace rallies were offered and funded by the communists in America while American soldiers were betrayed and killed overseas. All efforts to further peace in Communist countries by contrast were met with Gulag and death squads.  The very freedom that democracy offered resulted in its own demise.
Not until Reagan did the Communist system die.  Margaret Thatcher said, "Socialism fails because it runs out of other peoples money .” The halcyon cry of socialism is not 'steal from the rich and give to the poor" but rather "steal from the worker and give to the idle".   Even today Trudeau has squandered for his own nefarious purposes the nest eggs gathered by Canadians under conservative governments for their children and children’s children. Just as Pierre Trudeau did Justin Trudeau is selling the country into massive debt.
To maintain the momentum he is also pushing drugs.  "Give them cake" Marie Antoinette cried.  Trudeau says, "Give them pot".
The fall of Russia occurred because of rampant alcoholism. Of the western world only Russia had a rising infant mortality due to fetal alcohol syndrome. The products of their factories were further flawed such that in the competition of arms , the "Dessert Storm Arms Bazaar," "American made and "NATO pushed" won out over Communist made products. Communist workers drunk and under paid produced weapons that misfired. American workers well rewarded made weapons that were reliable.  The genius of design was further rewarded in the west compared to the east where the best dachaus always went to the bureaucrats and administrators.
Communism , now Cultural Communism,  in the west is Aetheism. It’s a godless regime devoted to Dictatorship.  Lenin, a mass murderer, with the assistance of Wall Street set up USSR system of central authority and the 5 year plans with hundreds of millions killed and mass starvation due to poor administration and corrupt beurocracy.  As Arendt had found in her study of Nuremberg the key to appreciating the demonic dynasties of mass murder was not in looking at the character of their leaders but rather the lack of character of their followers.
Arendt’s term was ‘banality of evil’.  The whole of the Nazi (National Socialist system to separate it from International Socialism or Communist system ) system was dependent upon the followers
Buffy St Marie, the female Canadian aboriginal folk singer, wrote the most provocative song “Universal soldier’ saying that war dependent on one man’s decision.  There is obviously much truth in it but Arendt’s life work showed that “Universal Beurocrat” or “Universal Administrator” was more likely the better explanation for the deaths of millions than ‘blaming the victim’ , 'unknown soldier.
The civil service noted for  its cowardice and it's pretence of civility is distinct from the active military service noted for it's bravery and rawness.  Soldier's live by their decisions whereas beurocrats get others killed. Lawyers and judges are all like Monday morning quarterbacks, pretentious critics who stay as far from the front as possible, making as much money as possible on the suffering of others and their real decisions. They are at least superior to journalists and Hollywood who get rich off the spectacle of war.
Buffy St. Marie, because of her gender's identification with the civil service and tendency to be protected from real combat, disparaged the actual real 'victim' of war, the soldier.    In contrast to WWII which was a rich and poor man's war, Vietnam was merely a poor man's war, the sons of the wealthy and eliteall using 'loopholes'  to  stay  home to participate in the party with the 'free sex' girls of the 'women's movement".
The individual soldier is no different than a slave, a tool created for good or evil and rarely much more.  He and now she are the pawns of the rich and powerful forces.  The army today is little different from the mercenaries in the army  of the British empire and    Ottoman  empire and Roman Empire before that.  The largest army of the world, the Chinese army, retains some ideological basis.  While patriotism is under attack like the white history in America, in China  the superiority of the racism inherent to the  Chinese is fuelled by communism's megalomaniac world domination goals.  The UN Islamic army of Bangladesh is fueled by religion like the Christian and Muslim army of yore.  The Crusaders were a defensive army against the mass murderer Mohammed who transformed the Middle east from Christian and Zorastrian to present day Islam.  
A Romanian, asked what it was like under communism before the fall of communism, essentially at the time fall of the Berlin Wall said, “Everyone was poor. Everyone was depressed.  You couldn’t complain because if you did they put you in jail. The leaders called themselves communists.”  After the fall?  “Everyone was poor. Everyone was depressed. You could complain now and they didn’t put you in jail. The leaders were the same people but they called themselves businessmen now.”

The STRONG MAN, the gang leader, took power and then agriculture allowed him and his band of merry follower to have workers/farmers/slaves producing food and arms while the military went to the next valley to conquer, i.e. steal and rape.

1. The “Military Industrial Complex” isn’t an American made product of the post Industrial Age as Social Communist propaganda would say but in fact dates back to the dawn of civilization. UR in ancient middle east, birthplace of Abraham, was the one of the  first of the Western Civilizations “military Industrial complexes”.  In the day Chariots were made and copper swords, before bronze swords and steel swords gave way to todays  AK47’s and Cruise Missiles.  All were made by peasants but today's peasants have better hair styles ,watch CNN and listen to CBC news. 
2. The United Nations is a war lord construct.  The penultimate tribal gang is todays MAFIA.  It’s the basic unit of Civilization.  The blood related 'tribe' of traditional society, the north American Indians (not Nations as they would have you believe but rather tribes, language counts) has given way to the Hell's Angels a non blood related tribal construct. 
3. The first dynasties were family and blood related.  To this day they remain mired in this materialistic eugenics model with the dynastic rule of Kennedies after the business mogul liquor running father, then the Bush father and son oil producers for the military machine, with their business connection to oil the elixir of war.   Justin Trudeau the dynastic son of Pierre Trudeau, the same communist pairing as Korean’s Kim Jong un and his father despite ideological differences revert to the primordial favourite like some kind of modern day  parent child, the favourite of religous iconography.  At least Canada dynamic communist duo dress better than their counterparts.   
4. A leader is never just one man, at least not since the days of the hunter gatherers.  Today’s leaders are more like sports ‘coaches’ or ‘movie producers’ with a core ‘nest’ of merry men, much like the medieval lords around the King.  The administrators are by strict contrast no more such political leaders than soldiers are. They have the same peasant mentality though they wield enormous power.  They are without the talent of political leaders whose skills at diplomacy, compromise and capacity to mould and lead are evidenced by their success. The pompous men of Brussels EU  are in strict contrast to the genius of political leaders like Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. The latter are dependent on their extraordinary ability to choose the right people and  fashion alliances. Ataturk of Turkey was one of the greatest leaders of all time similar to Churchill in these gifts. Bill Clinton was a genius to marry Hillary despite his obvious failure to satisfy Monica.   Hillary made the grievous error of depending on the abject losers Robby Mook as her campaign manager.   By Contrast Donald Trump chose the brilliant  extraordinary Kellyanne Conway as his Campaign Manager.  Conway Trumped Book!!! It was reminiscent of games with Goretsky controlling the ice in hockey. Indeed American men study sports especially football as a training in the nuances and understanding of politics. Sadly women such as Hillary Clinton's Huma Abedin, while they obviously knew about sex given the marriage to Weaner and money given their ties to the Saudi purse appeared utterly ignorant of any team sport which would have prepared them better from the campaign.  Administration and Soldiering are based solely, not on the acquisition of power, but rather on the distribution of power.  This explains why military dictatorships so rapidly devolve into fear based entities because they lack the appeal of character which the likes of  Clinton and Trump bring to office. Administrations and administrators necessarily appeal to the socialist minded as socialism is so dependent on legalism and dictatorships. It's no surprise that the UN , the greatest socialistic entity on the planet after Communist China, should put out AGENDA 21 encouraging Beurocrats and Administrators the world over to rise up and take power. It's call to world domination and control is little different than the original Lenin cry 'worker rise up'  Rise up so we can eventually win the world and be dictators to you as we are today still dictators say this communist leaders like China's STRONG MAN Stalinesque figure Xi Jinping.   Get rid of the Magna Carta, the French Revolution and the American Constitution and skip  right to the Emperor  Dictator bits say all these socialist communist liars and philanderers.  
5. The failure of communism was its inability to competitively create wealth. Capitalism with it’s inherent reward of the worker individually, ie capitalism, has been in direct competition with system of distribution of rewards of the worker by the Communist STATE whereby the most meritorious gain little while the least meritorious gain a lot.  
6. The trick of political correctness and ‘marketting’ is to deny individuals ‘real’ power and wealth by giving them the appearances of ‘power’ and ‘wealth’.  This is seen in ‘badges’ and ‘ranks’ and ‘influence pedalling.’  

Today there is a mix of central or socialist State power and decentralized or capitalist power.
Many would argue that the control of wealth and power in the world is limited to handfuls of families. The Rothschild’s are the most often identified by the conspiracy crowd but the Italians were the leading family at one time, starting the back rooms banker traditions in the 15 th century and others before.  One could almost guess that each of the controlling families was the last remnant of the former empires, hence the Italian bankers are what’s left of the original Roman Empire but before them were the Greeks magates left over from the Greek empires, the Mexican Billionaire a product of the Spanish Conquest,  the Egyptian billionaire family a product of  Alexander’s spoils.  In the far east the spoils of the Moghuls stand behind much of the leadership that exists centuries later. Definitely Mecca , the Eastern Disney mandatory tourist franchise was created by  Mohammed who stole all the wealth of the Christians, Jews and Zoroastrian throughout the Middle East to gain his power, best represented today in the glory of Dubai.
Capitalism has reigned since these early war lords. The two latest groups of wealth gathers were the leaders of the French and American Revolutions coupled with the Communist Revolutionaries in West and East.
 “Steal a little and they put you in jail, steal a lot and they make you King”.  Or Czar. Or Caliph. Or President. Or Prime Minister.
If I today were to get the local poor of Vancouver's DTES ghetto to rise up and throw off it’s beurocratic masters  marching  through Kitsilano,  Shaughnassey and West Vancouver, taking the wealth of the rich elite we’d likely have enough swag to party for a few dozen years. That’s about as long as Communist Countries last. The traditional capitalist decentralized distribution of wealth is simply to date superior to the left liberal or progressive rape of resources and pillage and then central redistribution.  Communist distribution is necessarily corrupt giving rise to the obvious corruption inherent in dynastic leaders like Trudeau and son, such an obvious throw back without any suggestion of meritocracy.
The success of empire is a much more complex thing. It’s fundamental to the study of English cricket, American Football, European Soccer and Canadian Hockey.  Basketball, developed by Canadians, might well have been a major contributor to Obama's successful campaign.
The Mainstream Media, now called the Fake Media would have us believe differently. They would deceitfully argue that they are ‘free’ and giving us ‘news’ but simply are no longer reporting ‘facts’ without ‘opinion’ as was once the case. But then before we understood Marshal McCluhan’s the “Medium is the Message’ that was true. Now the age of rationalism and age of intellectualism of man has given way to the age of emotion and age of emotionalism of women.  Cognitive behavioural therapy says that emotion is merely downstream construct of thought.  "I think therefore I am of modernism became  “I feel therefore I am" of so called ‘Post modernism’ which is probably better called  ‘ultra modernism’.  Neither represent "enlightment"  The clever and emotional are not wise.  Wisdom has been limited rather than expanded by the intersectionality of their social or cultural communism. History gave us dickheads who were followed by Vagina heads. The biggest hats are seen in the Eastern block.
Truth is what is lost with political correctness. Politics is a choice of the least bad alternative.
The Security Council of the United Nations is simply the principal arms dealers of the planet. They were put in place to maintain the status quo.  Not to end all wars. What would be the benefit in that to the Military Industrial Complex, ie Civilization as we know it.
As Camus and Kaffka showed so elegantly and the movie Clockwork Orange did as well, the struggle is between the Individual and the State. This was best depicted in recent years by the communist construct of the BORG versus the Federalist construct of Captain Picard in the Star Trek television series.   ‘
In the military the double speak became “the best defence is an offence’.  So in political correctness, ‘black is white’.  This was the ‘peace missile’ and the politician saying ‘trust me I’m a politician’.  Whenever Justin Trudeau speaks, with his endless stream of distracting platitudes, his forked tongue flicks.  While Canadians see Justin Trudeau as the greatest liar of all times so the Koreans see Kim  as their greatest liar.   Neither is.   The competition is for the biggest lie. That's the only truth in the great deceit of political correctness. The system  is fundamentally based on deceit.
The big brain of man, the sociobiological construct is that we not only evolved as ‘tool makers’ but we developed ‘political correctness’ and created the lies of the ‘emperor’s new clothes’ and all the myths that maintain a few in power over the many, whether they be the committee of communist murderers or the dynastic rulers of the Bush and Trudeau families.
What is ironic today is just as Mugabe has been deposed because his wife Grace wanted to use him to gain the throne as Hillary attempted to use Bill,  both  lost all.  There remains a  stronger eugenic belief that blood trumps sperm.  Even Dan Brown’s materialistic Da Vinci Code sought the ‘blood’ of Jesus hoping for a ‘DNA” combination. So marriage more rarely that progeny transmits royalty, ironically even in Communist Countries.
No wonder Marx and Engles set out to destroy the family to place all power in the head of state.
Proxy wars are the thing today.  Real life competitions between the military hardware of various families and nations.  Argentina buys missiles from the French and these compete with Missiles from British factories.  In truth France served both England and Argentina. Just as the Rothschild banked for Britain and France at Waterloo the backers of war bet on both sides to spread their likelihood of winning. George Soros as Satan's man destroys everything in hope of making a profit on the resulting wars.
Normally wars are wet and dry, in jungle or dessert with hard ware and men competing in opposing environments. The Falklands was as close to an arctic war as we’ve seen since the demise of the German army in the Russian winter.  No one is quick to put their machine against cold, water and heat yes, but not so much cold. Oil freezes, tanks and planes perform poorly.
A Scandanavian researcher showed that the working class of Israel and Palestine , soldiers, scientists and more were involved in war while the administrative class that much more deceitful and politically correct lot were involved in failed peace talks. If peace came to the Middle East there would simply be no economy and mass starvation would follow.
Despite the feminist outcries and forced participation and lingerie and sex and all manner of marketting ‘women fighting’ or even ‘pornography’ doesn’t make as much money as ‘War’.

Women may well be attracted more by swag.  The 60’s Wood stock communist sale was ‘free sex’.
The lie is always in the world prepositioned by the word  ‘free’. The marketting campaign of the navy is ‘free travel’. And of course a girl in every port.
Political Correctness is lying.  It’s putting a wrapping on a dirty thing. It’s deodorizer. It’s that Pine fragrance in the cigar smoker’s car. it’s the deodorant put on the dirty arm pits. It’s all these ‘lies’.  It’s a big brain thing. It’s fake news.
It’s demonic if you believe Satan is the source of all lies. That is the Christian position. There is Satan and there is Jesus. That’s the dichotomy of religion. Us and them.  Good and Bad. Patriotic and Unpatriotic.
The communists moved this to ‘clean energy’ or ‘holy energy’ and ‘evil energy’ . The irony is that coal and nuclear power were creating the electricity to power the  apparently clean ‘electric cars’ which the silly consumers were buying them  for their ‘cachet’ value. The long term pollution of solar panels is only now being exposed.  Political correctness is solely fashion. It's the latest see through bikini.  It's the sexy niquab and the exposed ankle of Victorian era. When it's not outright deceit it's the tantalizing tease.  Politically correctness is akin to bestiality and pedophilia put forth as true love. Marketing. Marketing. Marketing. Big brains.

I don’t know why it bothers me but I prefer the Truth. So when the Judge calls me a liar , I’m resentful and offended and must spend years praying for him because I know he’s identified with the criminal whose dirty money has paid for the lawyer who has contributed to the sacrifice of the near virgin girl who suicides when she can not protect her child. There’s a chivalry in the truth. The the White Knight hang up. There’s all that coupled with the Pirate and the Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry appeal to the rebel. Today’s the rebels are without a cause cause and call themselves ‘activists’. Their song is  Mila Cyress  “Wrecking Balls”.   The Angry Young Woman is a caricature of the Angry Young Man. As I grow older I realize that those who have died before have done so because of the soul destroying boredom of government and Hollywood myth productions.  Nothing is new. All is Vanity says Ecclisastaces.
The Reformer is the Enemy of anyone who benefits from the status quo.
So year in year out the politicians offer ‘change’ but do the same old, same old and when a politician is real and is new then the whole industry of "has been" wars against the ‘change’ for the manufacturer of ‘no change’ is a very lucrative business.  Eventually the ripples go and calm settles and the revolution goes back to everyone is poor.   Everyone is depressed. The pendulum only swings between todays era of political correctness and everyone who complains is fined or goes to jail and 60's and 70's when everyone could complain and no one went to jail.
They would lock us up if we complain. Dr. Jordan Peterson is denied freedom of speech while Wilfred Laurier is the new Hitler High.
Soon beurocratic interventions, gag orders, political correctness,  Islamaphobia, Hate laws and such make it possible to put us all back in jail. The ones that most need jailing today are the pesky pro life sort who simply stand outside abortion clinics, gandhiesque.
Jesus swore in his day. He had a potty mouth they said. The more an administrator focuses on the alignment of the writing of the page and the quality of the paper the less they focus on the content on the page. Political correctness is all about form without substance.  General Patton swore and Queen Victoria swore. All journalists and Christian leaders and Muslims and Jews and Buddhists have at times had potty mouths.  Expletives are ‘natural’.  Artifice is the life of the politically correct. In the church the emphasis on swear words, especially sexual references is social communism and not Christian. Blaspheming is taking the Lord’s name in vain. Jesus said 'shit!".  It’s not chauvinist feminism ‘protecting the little ladies delicate ears’. All of the statues and law to ‘protect the ladies’ is touted as ‘feminism’ and women in the west are surrounded by ideological burkha’s while they pride themselves on being powerful and free in their poverty.

Political correctness is ‘they lock us up if we complain’ . That’s how you know Canada is communist. Justin Trudeau is a liar and he says he’s for the poor and weak and business. He’s not.  But if he stays in power he’ll probably call himself a businessman and we’ll be able to complain again.

As a doctor I have taken an oath to save the life of Justin Trudeau or Donald Trump or Kim or Adolf or even HIllary Clinton, Lord love a duck.

Saturday Morning Journalling in Vancouver

I didn’t wake until nearly 9 am.  Normally I’m up at 7 so that’s really called sleeping in.  Laura was already up.  She had taken my fur alarm clock for a walk and were just returning wet from the rainy outdoors while I was going into the apartment bathroom.
“He peed and pooped and then wanted to come right back home. It was pouring and I tried to cover him with my umbrella. He dragged me on the leash back here.” she said.
Gilbert is a comfort dog.  When I’m hunting with Gilbert he prefers the truck to the ATV.  He’s keen to romp in the woods but loves returning to the warmth and comfort of the truck.  Smart dog.
Gilbert has been sleeping on the bed little feet twitching as he runs in the warmth of his dreams.
I’ve been sitting up on the bed Laura made while I was in the washroom.
She’s made me several coffees, brought eggs and toast with marmalade and generally spoiled me.
Meanwhile I’ve been caught up in Facebook.
Fidel Castro died on Black Friday, ironically the most capitalistic day of the year.  He was 90. Only the good die young.  A deeply evil man he killed thousands with firing squads and ran a one man police state.  He was one of the great killers and dictators of the 20th century the century ever to be remembered by failed communist countries killing hundreds of millions and jailing more, over and over again.  Stalin at very least saved his country from invasion by his former Socialist friend Adolf Hitler. But his reign of terror was like Castros’.  Meanwhile Castro was a friend of Pierre Trudau, the worst prime minister Canada has known from his invoking the war measures act to his national energy bill to his economic debacle that impoverished the country for decades.  Amazing what a red carnation symbol can do.  Cigar smoking Castro was celebrated for his health care and education system by his leftist cronies who failed to mention his jails and firing squads and theft of all the wealth of the  working man.
I saw the refugees who had escaped from Cuba having seen their families killed. I’ve talked to Cubans and am not surprised that there was dancing in the streets of Florida where the most Cubans live, thousands ,tens of thousands dancing and singing when they learned that Castro was dead.  Trudeau naturally didn’t comment on this.  And everyone in Cuba but the police live in fear.   Cubans  might well have been singing “Ding Dong the Witch is dead” because everyone knew of his killing and his despotism, except Justin Trudeau who skipped history to snowboard with his trust fund economic account.
There is always ‘romance’ with the rebel. The women can’t explain their sexual attraction to the ‘bad boys’.  It’s like good men who fall for the classic honey pot of the hookers.  Lust and death go hand in hand.
Cuba is freed from Castro though his family in classic despotism reign.  Were Hitler to have won and lived no doubt we’d have seen his children taking power.  Stalin’s wife killed herself, his daughter escape to the US, begging the Capitalist Pigs asylum from her brutal father.
Justin Trudeau loved his daddy’s killer buddy.  One an effete communist intellecual, the other a murderous communist despot.  Little Trudeau just flew to Cuba to see his communist second family.  He’s already visited the Chinese despot.  George Sorros the Nazi turned Communist , always capitalist billionaire has Justin in his pocket.  The Multi Millionaire Canadian Communist Strong started the UN IPCC so Canadians must suffer under a snow boarder drama teachers ignorance of science and demonization of carbon the foundation of humanity, and CO2 the life blood of plants.  As Trudeau skipped history and science classes Canadians are just stuck with his daily drama, all that he knows.  Selfie’s clicking and another shirtless Trudeau sexting.
It’s all hypocrisy.
I read through my Face Book feeds and having listened to CBC news and am appalled that my taxes outrageous and exorbitant beyond belief worse than even full fledged communist countries go to such deceit and propaganda.
I can’t shake the feeling I’m in a pre WW3 time with my leadership backing HItler and Stalin and Mussolini.  Merkel’s platitudes are dying in reality and Europe is turning against the ideological platitudes of the day.  France remains under martial law because of Muslim jihadists and refugee sexual violence.  All these intellectuals who smoke pot and do drugs and come up with ways for everyone to live to suit their fantasies are caught in the dying light of their once bright ideas. .
I did read a marvellous Psychology Today article on Misandry, the hatred of men, and a sub text on Feminism as Misandry.  Feminist Trudeau says men should be as self loathing as him and I can’t help but remember that his mother was a notorious drug addict and sex addict.  Now she’s cleaned up her history by claiming the generic term of ‘mentally ill’.  But what was the chicken and what was the egg. The fact remains she was a drug addict long before anyone realized how crazy drugs could make a person.  Now every drug addict is called Bipolar.
Meanwhile Laura has shown me the picture of her relative’s cat who likes to go hunting with him.He lives in Northern BC, a rural person.
Trump is picking his cabinet. So far all his choices have been incredible. I was really impressed with him when he picked Pence as his VP.  I vowed to buy Laura an Ivanka dress, not just because we like her designs but because there was a call to boycott her work because her father Donald Trump had won the election. How petty and offensive the Left is with their riots and destruction of property still going on in Canada and the States.  Nothing is more ludicrous  than leftist thugs. carrying Gandhi and Martin Luther books while they break into Electronic stores to steal plasma tvs claiming it’s a ‘demonstration’.  This is the fundamental problem of phenotype and genotype or rhetoric and logic.
Yesterday after work Laura and I did take advantage of the Black Friday sales.  Ivanka dresses are sold at Nordstroms and the Bay. Laura found one she loved in crushed velvet on black friday sale for $79 dollars. At Moores I got two sport jackets for the price of one. I now have three lines of clothing based on my expanding girth.  I have made an early resolution to exercise more, eat less,  my body unlikely to last till the Official New Year’s Resolution time.
After shopping we stopped for coffee downtown enjoying people watching. Laura had a hot chocolate. The streets were lit up for Christmas.  We caught the first packed show of Arrival at Scotia Theatre. Great “Timely” sci fi.  We both loved it.  After we walked Robson Street and had Sushi at Robson and Thurlow, Sushi Yan. We’d both not been there for years but it was still as good as ever.  Quite a treat for us because we don’t eat out often especially in winter because restaurants aren’t dog friendly.
Gilbert was back home hanging out with George his cat buddy. Laura sees them playing ball together and lying together when she comes in and surprises them. When we’re around George acts all diffident though occasionally plays his game of blocking Gilbert getting to the food dish or sitting in front to his ball. When I go to see what’s happening George acts perfectly innocent.
I’m still struggling with my brother’s death. It’s like my life has been on hold and now it’s starting up again.  Laura is reading a New York Guide Book. I’ve been enjoying the University New York Historical Society series on audio driving too and from work. I’m reading Edward Rutherford’s New York and was amused at the synchronicity when a patient told me this week he was reading the same and we were actually at the same place in the book and like a couple watching soap operas got chatting about the fictional characters and  factual events. “You have to read Sarum. Rutherford is one of my all time favourite authors. I am loving New York but I really think Sarum is still his best.”
I’m loving New York and finding Rutherford to write like a modern day Michener. I’ve read all of Michener and loved them all so now I’ll probably start reading all of Rutherford.  So many of my patients have been to or lived in New York and it’s been fascinating to hear how the city affected their narratives.
I am looking forward to visitting AA Central Office and Stepping Stones in New York..  There’s Trinity and St. Patricks and the New Year’s ball. I’ve got tickets on line to the Salome Opera, Philharmonic,  CATS and Carole King and Presence with Kate Blanchete.  I so enjoyed the art galleries in St. Petersburg and it was in New York more than 40 years ago I loved touring the Whitby and MET falling in love with Marc Chagall whose work I first saw there.  My second wife and I saw Lauren Bacall and Jeremy Irons on the Broadway stage one of those unforgettable life moments and performances. I love live theatre and live performances.  I loved especially  going with my first wife to the theatre in London. We sat in the cheapest seats  but got to see Noel Coward plays, and Alec Guiness and Maggie Smith on stage.
This week I had a true blessing, a gift of a Caroline Scagel print of Gilbert in a side car motorcycle in one of her whimsical  Marc Chagall like Canadian settings. The painting is on silk and I just love this print. Caroline Scagel’s gallery is called Toller Studios on Maine Island.
Asking my brother what he wanted to do and hearing that all he really wanted was more time with his amazing and loving family, my sister in law and nephews, I thought of my own ‘bucket list’ and New York came to mind. It was tempting to go to Mexico or Hawaii again for the warm.  But   I went to Turkey ‘off season’ a couple of years ago and don’t regret it one bit though it was rainy and cold with snow in Cappadocia.  The History and Art and Mosques and Capadocia country side with fairy chimneys and underground churches remains so unforgettably moving to me. This is not to say the most beautiful beaches in the world on the Mariana Islands could ever lose their appeal to a Canadian who has known real winter.  Return as a tourist to Saipan is certainly on my bucket list.
I was really glad to hear my Democratic Congressman friend was re elected. When there are people as loving as caring as he is I am glad people can still vote for the man even if I don’t respect the leader.   I was a Liberal for 20 years and am just really sorry that the party remained a Quebec party claiming national concerns.  That’s not to say I don’t have my Liberal friends and despite thinking they have superego lacunae in this one regard admire them in all other aspects.
Laura’s never been to New York so it’s a real thrill for her.  I took my timid second wife there, my first wife being by contrast a real adventurer and we bicycled across Europe together.  My second wife loved cities though and was a great companion visitting art galleries.
I really have been blessed in life though have known great challenges, trials, tribulations and sorrow. So much work. I’m tired now I’m older and if anything the forces of evil , the atheists and the corrupt wasters seem more prevalent.
I felt safe when Harper and Martin and Chretien and Mulroney were prime ministers. I don’t feel safe today. I wonder if my own personal aging isn’t something I’m projecting onto government as the scientifically ignorant  baby boomer leftist  elite have projected their imminent demise  grandiosely onto the planet with their silly theiving climate change cults and pre dementia return to pot smoking and hippy platitudes.
I hope my anxiety is just truly a measure of my distance from God.  I feel I pray and meditate too little. I ‘m always so busy.  I exercise too little. I indulge myself in food and entertainment and long for an advanced sex robot like a Cherry 2000 though really Laura is a great companion. Frankly  I’ve had the sexiest women in the world as wives and lovers. But Cherry 2000 could be programmed to clean the house, feed her man grapes and provide daily desires at verbal command.   When I’m in my intellectual mode I think of the laziest ways of sexual gratification because frankly as an intellectual I am forever angry at my mother for cutting the umbilical cord.  That’s why Leftist intellectuals want to be on the State Tit.
I guess this is what Trudeau  hopes from Muslim women.  When he gets Sharia law legalized and beating women, the Muslim way,  legislated in  Canada we can imagine  Sophie will stop exposing so much skin to the camera.  One of the main reasons for the Niqab and Burka is for wives to conceal their bruises.
 I know a lot of men who thought their Asia wives would work out for them this way. However there does seem to be a female genetic trait of individuality and reason which I have unfortunately admired.  I do love freedom and I have loved that women have loved me freely.   But then I’m an idealist and for a lot of men and women even marriage  is just ‘institutionalized prostitution’ . Feminists see it as lust between adults whereas traditionally marital love was so akin to Agape that Pope Paul John wrote a bulletin describing it as sacrament.  In the Bible the Song of Songs is the great book of erotic love.
I love the acceptance of my bible believing friends who trust authority as God’s and that there is a plan that will unfold and that we are saved. I am troubled though that most of Jesus’s disciples were martyred.  And I really don’t like pain and am at core a coward despite the many occasions I’ve stood up, making myself a target and suffered for fighting the lonely fights for underdogs and the abused.  On dozens of occasions I’ve risked my life to save the lives of others. I’ve faced gangs to stop women being raped fighting to pull girls from attackers and taking serious hits in the process.  I argue strongly that if you haven’t any ‘scars’ you’re not going to heaven. If you have scars on only one side of your body you’ve only been at the sidelines.I’ve got scars everywhere because I waded into the middle.  And now I look back and wonder why I did that.  Older I’m trying to avoid the world.
I love my east indian friend who described picking up a baseball bat to fight off the bullies trying to hurt his wife and children.
Now the enemy just ‘takes my precious time’.  Everyone in Canada is facing some time of beurocratic interference.  When you count  the number of regulations and realize how everything is taxed, see how many police, jails, and asylums, social “homes" we have and how many people are poor and struggling financially you really can appreciate how Castro taking over his country introduced his police state and demonic economic polices that destroyed the productive.  But being communist it’s always somebody else’s fault.  The left ‘blame game’.  Canada is now so far left of centre as to tip over any day now.  It’s that unbalanced.
I’m a failure to myself but wonder about my high standards. I still loved Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest and admire the greatest humans like the mariner explorer, Shakleton.
In my personal life I’ve been blessed to have amazing mentors from Dr. Carl Ridd at University of Winnipeg, Dr. Allan Ronald,  Dr. Arnold Naimark, Dr. Bill Bebchuck, Dr. Nady el Guebaly, Dr. Bernie, Dr. Hank , Dr. Williei, Dr. Phillip Ney, Dr. Dick, Dr. Art  and Dr. Tom and James Houston.  I read the biography of Colonel Hatfield our incredible Canadian Astronaut who not only went to space but manned the Space Station and sang David Bowies Colonel Tom from outer space.  The men I’ve known have been of this ilk, So far beyond me in their personal lives and achievements but so kind as to share and help a fellow human. I’ve been truly blessed.  I’ve known as many angels in my life like Cheryl,  Carole,  Bobby and closer to home, Maria Gomorri, Dr. Barb, Rev. Clark, Andria, but it’s the men I’ve tried to emulate. As my father taught me hunting, bicycling and shaving and my brother taught me motorcycles and canoeing so I’ve followed in the footsteps of these leaders of men and been truly impressed by their genius and big hearts. I’ve been blessed to know so many greater in my work and recreation.  I’m so utterly thankful for all my education and a life of learning.
I told a friend that I truly loved the painting but the frame was sordid and that saddened me.  These days I’m asking what stops me from being the best person I can be.  There seems less and less time to be the best person I can be and I’ve really been trying to do this in a variety of ways all my life.  I ‘m certainly skilled and I certainly have had a lot of awards and recognition.  I’ve even had a bit of infamy which I don’t like but realize was what others have experienced who stood up. Being different gets a chicken with a black feather savaged by the other stupid chickens.  Stupid people frighten me and there are a lot more stupid people than smart people. Worse the stupidest are made  to think they are smart by the wiles of the smart who award and give the stupid badges.  There’s nothing more dangerous than a stupid person in uniform.
I may be a stupid person.  I’m always self questioning and self doubting. Even when I was going through medical school I was questioning my decision. I left university in undergrad because I thought that the administration was a propaganda organ yet I came back and went on to teach knowing that this was partly true but so what.  I’ve learned to be less uncompromising and less judgemental.  Aging is a real time of mellowing. I realize I was really stupid when I was younger but I sure had a lot more energy.
Now I’m quite satisfied but accept that life is suffering unto death and anxiety is a measure of my distance from God. I am ever crying out for God and leading my life in as Godly a way as I can but I’m soiled with life and age and pretty beaten down by the game. I really felt the Glass Bead Game by Herman Hesse captured this aspect of truth just like Walden Pond confronts our consumer society.  I enjoyed hearing Zero Sum Game in the movie Arrival.
I’ve given all to the company store and now sucked dry  I also have to accept that nothing is good enough for the State or the State Committees because they are insatiably addicted to power but equally suffer extreme inferiority complex which cause them to avoid personal accountability. Thats a weakness ethically in the corporate model, a modern medieval reinvention of the Lords and Ladies. I am waiting to be cast off knowing the callousness of institutions and institutionalized men and women.  The Committee .  It’s like Kafka’s Castle.  But on a good day I hope to live as my father and mother lived long enough to enjoy retirement. But Trudeau has broken all his promises and the State promise of the reward of retirement is apparently no different than what the State has done for all too many of the Vets. Obama is even now demanding claw back from Vets after they served claiming he overpaid them.  Hillary in Watergate destroyed the pensions of the med west farmers and workers without any thought but for her Chelsea who not surprisingly married a banker..
The closed ballot and the true election process was a cornerstone of liberty but today no one cares for freedom. it’s all about consumerism.
I like to consume too.  I’ve experienced extreme poverty and sickness and prefer moderate well being.  What I really must work more at is avoiding ‘comparing my insides with others outsides’. As Milton always said, “When I look in a mirror I realize the problem is me and I’m looking at it.”  There is a farcical nature to Canadian politics right now so if only I could elevate my perspective I could be belly laughing all day at the foolishness of it all.  That might get me locked up but it sure beats despair.  And as the great pro life champion Dr. Ney would say, the world is full of bitter old people.  Being positive in negative times is really rather original and creative.
Here I am today able to sit at this Apple laptop computer journalling, a day off from a hectic week, well fed , warm and with my dog and beautiful friend.
The world is unfolding as it is.  Today is a blessing. Tomorrow is not yet here. I even have more adventure to consider today.  Thank you God for all your blessings. Thank you for my family , friends, my work and all those I can help and serve. Help me in my work. Help me to be a better doctor. Help me to grow old more gracefully. Help me to take more care of my own health and better care for this body I have let grow fat and lazy.  Help me to be a better master to my dog and a better friend.  Thank you for rest as well as work. Guide me in the troubles that come with working with the most insane, and most addicted and the stigma of a doctor among society’s  Lepers. Help me to help those marginalized by society. Help me to be wiser, more loving and more discerning.
Thank you  esus for this day and all the wonders of God’s creation.


 

Social Justice and Physicians

I have been reading again the Charter on Medical Professionalism put forth in the Annals of Internal Medicine, Feb 5, 2002 by Harold C. Cox, a project of ABIM Foundation, ACP-ASIM and European Federation of Internal Medicine.  In it there are three principles, Principle of Primacy of Patient Welfare and Principle of Patient Autonomy and finally Principle of Social Justice. It's the last one that catches in the craw.

It says the medical profession must promote justice in the health care system, including fair distribution of health care resources.  Physicians should work actively to eliminate discrimination in health care, whether based on race, gender, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, religion or "any other social category".

It "sounds" sweet and nice and sugar and spice but really is it 'reasonable' or 'emotionally sound'.  Collectively it's a good thing for the profession to promote those things that make any 'brand' look good.  However this all round 'anti discrimination' clause seems horribly reactionary and communist rather than socialist even but especially anti capitalist.

And really "any other social category".  I immediately think should a serial murder in prison have same access to cataract surgery as the neonatal brain surgeon.  What is most concerning is this 'any other social category'.  What concerns me here is the 'entitlement' in society today where people who do not contribute to 'insurance' plans expect equal benefits from those insurance plans.

Further we specifically as physicians have 'rationed' health care resources on the basis of 'compliance' with treatment. I was early involved in the decision to give 'pig skin heart halves' to chronic alcoholics over mechanical heart valves because of the issue of 'blood thinners'. The chronic alcoholics would be at risk of not doing the appropriate after care and with the lesser beneficial 'natural' valve there was less after care.  Given this clause I would think this reasonable medical decision making would be considered discriminatory towards an individual who is choosing excessive alcohol as a 'cultural imperative'.

I have spent alot of my career doing 'missionary' type work, choosing to work always in the areas of 'greatest needs' and not choosing the areas of greatest comfort, prestige or monetary reward in the profession. I could well have become a plastic surgeon but instead became a country northern physician and later a psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist. I certainly would like more resources compared to my rich and richer brethren but somehow I don't want them if my plastic surgeon buddy with his multi millions is penalized for his attention to breasts and noses.  I think this 'clause' is destructive of what was always thought of as key component of medical professionalism, that is 'physician autonomy'.

I read this charter and it reads like a government employment brochure. It's a great salaried position yet it overlooks the word 'freedom'.  Professions have attracted the very best because of the potential for 'autonomy' and 'freedom'.

This charter by it's failure to address such central issues while focussing on matters such as "committment to just distribution of finite resources' and committment to professional responsibilities, seems highly weighted to governmental imperatives.

I personally was attracted to the profession of medicine because I was enterring a covenanted relationship with a patient in which I was to serve as a 'healer'. Clearly I would put the patient's interests first but how it was decided who would be my patient, the patient selection process itself, was never something I thought it was the responsibility of the 'profession'. In this way I'm arguing against myself in fact but that itself is 'professional'.

My first position was to go to a country hospital whereas the city positions carried more glamor, luxury, resources, pay and priviledge. I was a leading doctor and have always have tremendous choice something that perhaps those at the 'bottom of the class' didn't or didn't perceive.  Many of my colleagues today choose the 'easy street' of 'administrative medicine' which carries power, priviledge, and 9-5 jobs and no patient contact with considerable capacity to be extraordinarily parental.  Others choose 'forensic' medicine where there's a 'capitive' population.  There is limitted considerations of 'social justice' in either of these spheres.

I was the only provincial doctor willing to work in Northern Manitoba on the Island Lake reserves the years I was there. The Northern Medical Unit had to bring in doctors from England to take positions which for 2 years could not be filled because of the low pay, high risk and general unattractiveness of the position. I got TB. I was in a plane crash. I was attacked. I was injured. I went through the ice in a snow mobile on a mercy run. I was without resources on many occasions. I had little back up. The greatest priviledge of the position was working with Dr. Jack Hildes.

After country medicine and northern medicine I did a community medicine, public health and psychiatry residency. There was no support in the psychiatry residency for 'social medicine' at the time.  I wrote a paper on 'social responsibility' and it was belittled.  The psychoanalytic model at the time favoured 'labour intensive' service for a few whereas despite my psychoanalytic training I went to work in the provincial asylum where no Canadian Psychiatrist was willing to work.  The conditions for physicians were horrendous.  Patients had it almost as bad. The administration was living the life of bliss.

As a psychiatrist I worked in the country and the north again and then moved to work in addiction psychiatry.  My life has been threatened repeatedly. I have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because my patients can't pay and the system penalizes doctors working with those who lack resources.  I have found in general the stigma against psychiatric patients and those who care for them suffocating.  I am now working in the Vancouver downtown east side with homeless drug addicts and street prostitutes part of my week. The hospitals and their services literally abuse my patients and myself because of the frustration within the 'system'.

I was a member of the International Society of Physicians against Nuclear War which got a Nobel Prize one day. I was never in favour of 'unilateral disarmament' during the cold war.  I think it's a good thing to consider 'social justice' but given the present administrations in Canada, those managing health resources and their desire to increase their positions and their pay without having a similiar committment to 'patient's first' I'm concerned that we as physicians giving up 'autonomy' will play into the nefarious self interest of these groups who have to date not demonstrated their ability to have high ethical standards.

I see that my colleagues are willing to do 'service'. It's extremely common for missionary doctors to go to work in equally difficult place. The Evangelical Medical Association is forever having doctors volunteer to work in difficult situations yet most would not have worked in the situations that I have because of the government interference in health care, the over riding tendency of administration to use whips rather than rewards and all manner of concerns with health care in secular societies.

The greatest risk to patients is the 'company' doctor. The 'company' doctor or 'government doctor' was a doctor who to protect his own position of priviledge did as he was 'told' and 'told' the patients what the 'company' or 'government' propaganda or corporate stategy of the day was.  He was a 'cog in the wheel' and his 'cowardice' in the medical community is legenday.  He was described in detail by Dr. Jay Lifton in "Nazi Doctors".  I personally don't want to be a 'nazi' doctor. I want my freedom and the patient's freedom enshrined.  I want choice and I want the patient to have choice.  Together we choose and together we stand.  That's the nature of covenant. That's historically the nature of professionalism.  This instead is something else and so watered down as to serve neither patients or doctor but likely to serve special interest groups and destroy the very trust that patients have historically had knowing their physicians are 'autonomous'.  This emphasis on freedom and autonomy is not dealt with in the 'committment to conflict of interest'.  I fear that the writers of this charter don't grasp or agree with what I and professionals before me meant by 'freedom" and 'autonomy".  Alternatively they may have deliberately excluded this in preference for this 'brand' they are definitely promoting as a universal when truly I believe it falls far short of encompassing the purest conception of medical professionalism that has allowed it to spread world wide and served so many of us even as we are ostracized by those who have so many resources.

This charter of medical professionalism fails extremely because it in no way protects the autonomy of the physician. It doesn't address the need for a physician to ethically and morally refuse to participate in situations where it is obvious that 'systemic' abuse is taking place.  It indeed appears to serve not the 'patient' but the very agencies that have so often ensured resources do not get to the patient or the physician providing direct care.

Professionalism requires 'autonomy' and 'freedom' for 'physician' and 'patient'.
