Politics of Hope

Communist China is presently imploding like all socialist communist countries do after a matter of decades.  The USSR hardly lasted a hundred years. National Socialism of Hitler lasted hardly decades.  Communist China is hanging on by a thread.
As Margaret Thatcher said, the problem with socialism is it runs out of other people’s money.
The problem with communism is it is a dictator that rewards loyal thugs but doesn’t encourage the innovative a creative. As a kleptocracy communism’s success is sacrificing millions of the rich in their own population and stealing from it’s neighbors.  Given that the rewards always go to the managerial class of the Communist party ii is little different from any robber baron state.  Historically they have always had to build walls and laws to keep people in.  By contrast countries free with opportunity and encouragement of the creative and enterprising end up having to build walls to keep people out.
Predators always attack the weak.  China invaded the peaceful Tibetan Buddhist nation and genocide the monks forcing the Dalai Lama to flee to India. India had a short try of socialist communism but managed to escape from the brink without the normal warfare.  It is well said that you can vote yourself into communist socialism but you can only shoot your way out.  Lenin euphemistically called it ‘Dictatorship of the Proletariat’.
Kennedy faced down Kruschev in the famous Kennedy Missile Crisis.  The communists nuclear missiles into the communist mass murderer Castro’s  Cuba for their invasion of the United States. The world was on the brink of nuclear war.  If Kennedy had shown weakness, WW3 would have taken place on American soil.  However, like all predators Krushev backed down hoping to face a weaker American leader in the future.  They would instead continue their Fifth Column invasion of the political, education and media systems of the country.  It was Kennedy that claimed the high ground of defense in outer space as well, blocking the Russia attempt to establish an outer space garrison. It was no surprise that he was eventually assasinated, like Caesar, through the fault of external and internal betrayal.
In Canada CSIS, our national intelligence service, has declared that the Communist Chinese have infiltrated the political, education systems and media to the highest levels.
Presideant Reagan faced off against Gorbachev in the Salt II missile treaties and subsequent desert storm arms bazaar. Reagan didn’t back down.  He was nearly assassinated but the USSR communist dictatorship collapsed.  With it’s collapse the truth became told of the worst workmanship, wide spread depression, suicide and alcoholism. Fetal deaths highest in the modern world.  Half their missies would not have fired because they didn’t have maintenance. The elite of communist countries are always the best fed with the greatest walled mansions, what the Russians called ‘dachaus’, but the people lived hopeless slave like existences constantly under threat of the Gulags.
Now mass murderer Xi Linping’s Communist China has attacked the west. This time with the unconventional warfare of the Chimera Covid 19 virus, an internationally outlawed lab experiment that escaped but rather than being stopped was allowed to spread and infect the world.  The immediate gain for Communist Xi Linping was the armored lock down of the Hong Kong rebellions. A million of the 6 million Hong Kong Chinese, the worlds greatest minds, a peaceful industrious people like the Tibetans who the low brow uncultured barbarian  Communist Chinese massacred.  Now they broke the international treaties with Britain and the rest and arrested leading Hong Kong Freedom advocates. These are not the street riff raff that loot and murder calling themselves Antifida and being paid by George SOROS to sow dissent and dischord. These Hong Kong Freedom Movement leaders are famous men like Lai, who is the Asian Gandhi or Martin Luther King today. The Communist Chinese who have jailed millions of the Chinese after Mao before Xi Linping had murdered a hundred million of their own people in the so euphemistically Cultural Civil Wars of rape and pillage.  Now the peaceful religious Falun Gong were the latest victim of international criminal Xi Linping. Solzhenitsyn chronicled the debauchery of the Communist Socvialist Russian jailers who brutalized the intellectuals of the day, millions called ‘political dissidents’ and worked to death in Siberia, so Xi Lingping has dose the same so that American corporations can sell their vanity products cheap because of the low cost of Chinese slave labor.  But today the aging Communist Chinese elite aren’t satisfied with slave labor they now use the children for sex slave and arrest the young healthy fervent Falun Gong stealing their organs to keep the Communist elite alive.  The Ughers by the millions, have been ethnically cleansed.
The dissatisfaction of the Chinese population has never been higher as they see their labor stolen by the corruption that is rife in communist countries.  The communists like the East German stazi files showed include the evidence that the surviellance of the people and threats to work are worse than what occurred in the USSR. It explains the shoddy workmanship and constant mobilization of internal Chinese police against their own people.
Now with revolution spreading throughout China Xi Linping having released the virus to the world has invaded India, already moving 20 000 troops across the border and killing 20 Indian soldiers. He has in the last months sunk several Vietnamese ships and moved two air craft carriers into the China Sea claiming on the three most important waterways shared with Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and other countries against breaking international agreements just like Hitler broke countless international laws before he invaded Poland outright with his famous Blitzkrieg.
Xi Linping poisoned the world with the Covid virus and believed that this attack would crash the west. Having loaned money to countless countries he immediately called in his loans and reposted port facilities and roads and infrastructure projects like any loan shark having created the very obstacle to repayment that allowed the Communists to foreclose. Australia had to limit Communist Chinese ownership in projects because at the height of Covid the Chinese closed one of the largest hospital to further spread disease and create chaos.
Churchill like Reagan and Kennedy had stood firm against the Communiss. Today the person who is like Kennedy standing firm is President Donald Trump.  History repeats itself.  China with it’s floods and poverty and lack of care for their people, Communist Pol Pot had murdered fifty percent of the Cambodian population stealing their wealth. Life under communist socialism has never been good for the people but like all dictatorships the elite have done very well. The comparison between the poverty and suffering of the Communist Northern Korean and free Southern Korea is undebatable.
When a country is floundering within with it’s citizens unwed on the verge of starvation it’s been the time when dictators attack their neighbors hoping to steal money to keep their regime going a little longer.  Communist China’s ally Iran similarly struggling with internal rebellion and low standard off living has been attacking it’s neighbors and threatening Israel. All the while Israel and the US have been making unprecedented peace treaties and trade agreements that are mutually beneficial.
The Communist Chinese back democrats, not the democrat party of Kennedy, that greatest of American institutions, but rather this abortion of UN Agenda 21 and Davos 2019 the attempt at world communists socialism with the alliance between Patriarchal Communist China and Patriarchial Sharia Iran dictatorships.  It’s been set up as a Ponzi scheme with the utter most fear monger ing from the world will end every year from one catastrophe prediction after another. The Modern Climate Change Cult now the Virus Contagion fear monger or fear pornographers have a safe con going much like the Aztecs who convinced the neighbors to give them their virgins each year or the sun would come back. Give us money and virgins the leaders said and the sun will return.  Trillions of dollars have gone to the corrupt leaders of this latest of schemes with Canada for one having given a billion and a half to Climate Change projects and the criminals intellectuals didn’t even bother to write papers or account tor the money. It just went to the great political party that has gone one since before the Magna Carta.
Now the November election of Republicans and Freedom faces off against the Democrats puppet of Communist China.  Xi Linping or Trump. Already in Canada Trudeau has made our country a branch office of Communist China, the new USSR.  Trudeau actually gave the security contracts for our airports to the Communist Chinese and was the last to close the border to Wuhan at the height of the pandemic in march.
History repeats itself.  Antifida are the Brown Shirts of Nazi, National Socialism. Donald Trump is as vilified by Democrat controlled media as Churchill was vilified by English media. Churchill was consider vulgar because his mother was American and he lacked the proper etiquette and manners of the English legal class.  So there’s Donald Trump, a business man who is constantly criticized by the left for his lack of the lawyer polish that Bush and Obama and Clinton had.  He’s not a lawyer. Some say the ‘lawyer class’ is the equivalent of the Communist Party or the old powerful Masonic Lodge. The truth is Donald Trump is Churchilll, Reagan and Kennedy. Xi Linping is Hiler.  In Canada Trudeau is the village idiot.

If love is the answer

If love is the answer, then you would defend yourself and your family and friends.  I just watched Felon last night. It was a powerful movie about a man falsely accused and incarcerated for defending his family.  It’s message encouraged one to consider just how many people are in jail who are indeed not guilty.
False accusations are increasing exponentially with the rise again of socialism.  In communist countries ,the ultimate expression of socialism, the standing joke was when three people were gathered together, one of them was an informer.  In socialism there is always someone who believes they can improve their lot by accusing another to the authorities.
Those who do make false accusations are sometimes just garden variety psychopaths and sociopaths, more common than many believe. The other sort  are developmentally psychologically immature and falsely accuse their neighbours to please their mommy or daddy, whichever one they feel rejected by and to psychologically conceal their own ‘dirty’ secret.  Of course there are good citizens. But historically part of good citizenship was the ‘openess’ of knowing who your accuser was.  Today ‘mind your own business’ goes hand in hand with the realization that a life in ‘witness protection’ might not be what one personally envisioned.  The check and balance of ‘accusation’ among good citizenry was that it was not done ‘lightly’ as it is today with everyone ‘offended’ and everyone a ‘critic’.
In the Judeo-Christian view from which western laws derived it was taught ‘thou shalt not judge’ and ‘thou shalt not bear false witness’ was one of the 10 commandments along side ‘thou shalt not murder’.  Jesus taught that if you see fault in your neighbour you should first pluck the timber out of your own eye before trying to take the sliver out of another’s.
Yet today, with a society ‘externalized’ by Hollywood and other media celebrations of the evil villains and superhero’s , along with all the propaganda, self reflection is discouraged.  Blame is the name of the game.  Deny deny deny is the answer the lawyer tells the accused.  Notice it’s not ‘silence’ but ‘deny’.  This message to the innoscent and guilty alike is given again and  again in the ever more popular police stories.  From the earliest age children are taught to lie even if they need no encouragement.
If love is the answer, then one needs to beware of Canada’s increasing failure to address ‘perjury’ in the courts.  Further in beurocratic agencies false accusations are sadly apart of the industry of encouraging people to spy on their neighbours and report their neighbours to the authorities.
This is seen in the ‘anonymous ‘tip’ lines’ which are naturally commonly abused.  The extent of the abuse is seen in social services where disputes between mothers on the play ground for whatever reason are sometimes followed by that awful call to child’s services with the claim that one neighbour is doing something wrong.
That these are not being investigated and front and centre of any discussion reflects the need of authorities to maintain their autocratic positions by any means. The loss of ‘truth’ in society is just one casualty that follows this drive to war and anarchy created by the fundamental failing of law and order.
If there is no truth there is no real law and order. In communist countries truth died first.
We are seeing the ‘fake news’ of CBC news, Vancouver Sun and CNN.  These alt left and alt right media compete in lies. Harvard University reported that 75% of CNN news coverage during the recent election was highly biased (essentially ‘untrue’).
Truth is the first casualty of war.
If love is the answer, then truth is the question.

Social Justice and Physicians

I have been reading again the Charter on Medical Professionalism put forth in the Annals of Internal Medicine, Feb 5, 2002 by Harold C. Cox, a project of ABIM Foundation, ACP-ASIM and European Federation of Internal Medicine.  In it there are three principles, Principle of Primacy of Patient Welfare and Principle of Patient Autonomy and finally Principle of Social Justice. It's the last one that catches in the craw.

It says the medical profession must promote justice in the health care system, including fair distribution of health care resources.  Physicians should work actively to eliminate discrimination in health care, whether based on race, gender, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, religion or "any other social category".

It "sounds" sweet and nice and sugar and spice but really is it 'reasonable' or 'emotionally sound'.  Collectively it's a good thing for the profession to promote those things that make any 'brand' look good.  However this all round 'anti discrimination' clause seems horribly reactionary and communist rather than socialist even but especially anti capitalist.

And really "any other social category".  I immediately think should a serial murder in prison have same access to cataract surgery as the neonatal brain surgeon.  What is most concerning is this 'any other social category'.  What concerns me here is the 'entitlement' in society today where people who do not contribute to 'insurance' plans expect equal benefits from those insurance plans.

Further we specifically as physicians have 'rationed' health care resources on the basis of 'compliance' with treatment. I was early involved in the decision to give 'pig skin heart halves' to chronic alcoholics over mechanical heart valves because of the issue of 'blood thinners'. The chronic alcoholics would be at risk of not doing the appropriate after care and with the lesser beneficial 'natural' valve there was less after care.  Given this clause I would think this reasonable medical decision making would be considered discriminatory towards an individual who is choosing excessive alcohol as a 'cultural imperative'.

I have spent alot of my career doing 'missionary' type work, choosing to work always in the areas of 'greatest needs' and not choosing the areas of greatest comfort, prestige or monetary reward in the profession. I could well have become a plastic surgeon but instead became a country northern physician and later a psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist. I certainly would like more resources compared to my rich and richer brethren but somehow I don't want them if my plastic surgeon buddy with his multi millions is penalized for his attention to breasts and noses.  I think this 'clause' is destructive of what was always thought of as key component of medical professionalism, that is 'physician autonomy'.

I read this charter and it reads like a government employment brochure. It's a great salaried position yet it overlooks the word 'freedom'.  Professions have attracted the very best because of the potential for 'autonomy' and 'freedom'.

This charter by it's failure to address such central issues while focussing on matters such as "committment to just distribution of finite resources' and committment to professional responsibilities, seems highly weighted to governmental imperatives.

I personally was attracted to the profession of medicine because I was enterring a covenanted relationship with a patient in which I was to serve as a 'healer'. Clearly I would put the patient's interests first but how it was decided who would be my patient, the patient selection process itself, was never something I thought it was the responsibility of the 'profession'. In this way I'm arguing against myself in fact but that itself is 'professional'.

My first position was to go to a country hospital whereas the city positions carried more glamor, luxury, resources, pay and priviledge. I was a leading doctor and have always have tremendous choice something that perhaps those at the 'bottom of the class' didn't or didn't perceive.  Many of my colleagues today choose the 'easy street' of 'administrative medicine' which carries power, priviledge, and 9-5 jobs and no patient contact with considerable capacity to be extraordinarily parental.  Others choose 'forensic' medicine where there's a 'capitive' population.  There is limitted considerations of 'social justice' in either of these spheres.

I was the only provincial doctor willing to work in Northern Manitoba on the Island Lake reserves the years I was there. The Northern Medical Unit had to bring in doctors from England to take positions which for 2 years could not be filled because of the low pay, high risk and general unattractiveness of the position. I got TB. I was in a plane crash. I was attacked. I was injured. I went through the ice in a snow mobile on a mercy run. I was without resources on many occasions. I had little back up. The greatest priviledge of the position was working with Dr. Jack Hildes.

After country medicine and northern medicine I did a community medicine, public health and psychiatry residency. There was no support in the psychiatry residency for 'social medicine' at the time.  I wrote a paper on 'social responsibility' and it was belittled.  The psychoanalytic model at the time favoured 'labour intensive' service for a few whereas despite my psychoanalytic training I went to work in the provincial asylum where no Canadian Psychiatrist was willing to work.  The conditions for physicians were horrendous.  Patients had it almost as bad. The administration was living the life of bliss.

As a psychiatrist I worked in the country and the north again and then moved to work in addiction psychiatry.  My life has been threatened repeatedly. I have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because my patients can't pay and the system penalizes doctors working with those who lack resources.  I have found in general the stigma against psychiatric patients and those who care for them suffocating.  I am now working in the Vancouver downtown east side with homeless drug addicts and street prostitutes part of my week. The hospitals and their services literally abuse my patients and myself because of the frustration within the 'system'.

I was a member of the International Society of Physicians against Nuclear War which got a Nobel Prize one day. I was never in favour of 'unilateral disarmament' during the cold war.  I think it's a good thing to consider 'social justice' but given the present administrations in Canada, those managing health resources and their desire to increase their positions and their pay without having a similiar committment to 'patient's first' I'm concerned that we as physicians giving up 'autonomy' will play into the nefarious self interest of these groups who have to date not demonstrated their ability to have high ethical standards.

I see that my colleagues are willing to do 'service'. It's extremely common for missionary doctors to go to work in equally difficult place. The Evangelical Medical Association is forever having doctors volunteer to work in difficult situations yet most would not have worked in the situations that I have because of the government interference in health care, the over riding tendency of administration to use whips rather than rewards and all manner of concerns with health care in secular societies.

The greatest risk to patients is the 'company' doctor. The 'company' doctor or 'government doctor' was a doctor who to protect his own position of priviledge did as he was 'told' and 'told' the patients what the 'company' or 'government' propaganda or corporate stategy of the day was.  He was a 'cog in the wheel' and his 'cowardice' in the medical community is legenday.  He was described in detail by Dr. Jay Lifton in "Nazi Doctors".  I personally don't want to be a 'nazi' doctor. I want my freedom and the patient's freedom enshrined.  I want choice and I want the patient to have choice.  Together we choose and together we stand.  That's the nature of covenant. That's historically the nature of professionalism.  This instead is something else and so watered down as to serve neither patients or doctor but likely to serve special interest groups and destroy the very trust that patients have historically had knowing their physicians are 'autonomous'.  This emphasis on freedom and autonomy is not dealt with in the 'committment to conflict of interest'.  I fear that the writers of this charter don't grasp or agree with what I and professionals before me meant by 'freedom" and 'autonomy".  Alternatively they may have deliberately excluded this in preference for this 'brand' they are definitely promoting as a universal when truly I believe it falls far short of encompassing the purest conception of medical professionalism that has allowed it to spread world wide and served so many of us even as we are ostracized by those who have so many resources.

This charter of medical professionalism fails extremely because it in no way protects the autonomy of the physician. It doesn't address the need for a physician to ethically and morally refuse to participate in situations where it is obvious that 'systemic' abuse is taking place.  It indeed appears to serve not the 'patient' but the very agencies that have so often ensured resources do not get to the patient or the physician providing direct care.

Professionalism requires 'autonomy' and 'freedom' for 'physician' and 'patient'.
