Trump Wins USA Election 2024

I stayed up watching the election results. I was anxious.  I’d watched the Democrats pull every dirty trick, the false insurrection claims and all the legal attacks, all in an attempt to override the democratic election process.  That’s been so much about what this is about, the SWAMP,  The non elected inner circle of people making all the decisions. Like CBC’s skewed propaganda network, 80 % of employees liberal and Trudeau buying this rag.  Our political organizations are not supposed to be so partisan,  The FBI back the Hillary lie of the false Russian dossier and covered up the Biden Crime Family links in Ukraine and the Hunter lap top.  Yet there was Trump constantly under scrutiny and attack.  Finally the assasination attempts.
I like that he’s sober
I like that he has been backed by some of the most incredible and powerful women like Sarah Saunders and Kayleigh McEnany.  By contrast Trudeau fired the best women in his cabinet.  Corinne Biden’s presss secretary never seemed to do her homework and was always unprepared so yes I liked Trump.  I know businessmen talk but what they sign in the bottom line.  He’s always been a salesman.  By contrast the suits like Obama and Bush sound like lawyers, platitudes and niceties but in the end gobble gook.  I love the reality rather than the plasticity. The raw.  Xi Jinping is always orchestrated. Hitler made nice speeches.  The middle class has been destroyed by these globalist totalitarianism. I am a libertarian and like freedom.  I like free speech and Biden, Kamala and Harris don’t. I loved that Elon Musk who loves free speech joined Trump. I loved that Kennedy joined  Trump.  I loved that KellyAnne Conway. Of course I love Melania and Ivanka.  I didn’t like all the democratic lies, pointing fingers while five pointed back. I didn’t like that Obama spied on all his allies and all Americans,
I lost faith in the UN and WHO during covid and watched Fauci and Xi Jinping do awful things.  There was so much chicanery and pseudo science. All the lies from the Climate Change Cult are terribly concerned .I liked that the economy was improving. It had been great under Harper and now with Trudeau and Biden were destroying it and the war with Russia was so corrupt.  So much criminal money and money laundering.  All the while I was having higher food prices nand everyone I knew was struggling. The mass illegal migration was offensive since Trudeau is supposed to protect the country and there was he and Biden and Kamala encouraging terrorists and criminals into the country
The media, the fluffy issues like pronouns, the attack on saniety all was like the Borg and I felt like Picard was facing the Borg.
So yes I was glad when Trump won.  But I most enjoyed a fellow I know posting on social media fearing gong to sleep because last election he’d done that and woken up to find Trump had lost the election after truck loads of votes had appeared.
I knew Xi Jinping was at fault because he invaded Hong Kong and refused to allow the Wuhan Lab Leak to be investigated.  Similarly I knew the voting was corrupt because the Democrats fought voter ID.  I don’t believe Trudeau won the last election either because he wouldn’t investigate the electrion tampering and corruption especially by the Communist Chinese.  I don’t trust the voter machines much either because the hackers have broken every code and no one has shown how these voting machines are better than cray computers.
Tired I fell asleep hopeful at midnight and woke at 3 am to see that Fox News had declared Trump a winner, I stayed up for a couple of hours watching news and then went back to bed feeling evid was vanquished. Anyone who promotes third stage abortion and the death of children or even isn’t right. I’m pro life but I want women to have the right to abortion heist term but when a baby is a viable life 3 to 6 months let the baby live,  I don’t like Trudeau’s euthanasia and maid for the Menatlly ill. The left has been promoting all these Nazi and Communist totalitarian ideas. Also a hundred Christians churches burnt to the ground in Canada in the last months but everyone on CBC and NBC and CNN going on about Islamophobia while these radical attack Jews and block traffic.  I liked the Jews and Israel and don’t like the Palestinian Hammas or the Maxist Leninist Antifid and Black Lives Matter get a free pass, I do’t like what the cities are doing to the rural people, I identify with the underdog.  I support the gay community but not the weird increasingly  privileged demands and all the pronouns shit,  Stop it.
I smiled when I saw Trump win.  I felt hope, I might have shed a tear of joy. I felt finally there was hope that Trudeau would be removed and Canada would not be taken over by Sharia Communism.  I an so tired of being bullied by aetheists and Islamic terrorists.  Trudeau paid an Islamic terrorist , the son of a bomb making fanily , killer of an American medic 10 million dollars.  Seeing Trump and Vance win I had hope that Pierre Poillevre would sooner be Prime Ministr of Canada,  There was light at the end of the tunnel,  Soros was exposed.  All the undermining of freedom and totalitarianism of Democrats and Liberals was challenged.  I had hope.  When I woke I felt there was possibility. I felt truth and freedom was possible I felt safer.  I am thankful.  I fear beauroccrat reign and the Borg.  I hate the lies and arrogance of ‘do gooders’ and the unscientific claims of the Climate Change Cult There are more polar bears and Carbon dioxide iss’t demonic.  Everything isbn’t racist or political The arctic is still there so is the Antarctic.
God is good.  Thank you Jesus,

Vancouver Pride Parade

“How many cocks does a person have to suck today to be ‘gay’? I asked a gay real estate tycoon.
We’d discussed the expansion of he Queer political minority to 10% when the heterosexual majority excluded a member for any deviance .  The gays graciously  inclusive accepted the discards.  Now however with the polical ascendancy of the fringe a fellow had told me that he felt excluded as ‘not gay enough’ .  He identified as gay but couldn’t remember the last time he had sex.
“It’s not about cocks today, it’s where you shop? He replied.
Given the number of banks marching in the Pride Parade it really was as much about pride and lust as lust, avarice and gluttony if one was thinking theologically. Pride isn’t about that though but rather the antidote to the shame.  “Velvet Rage, growing up gay in a straight mans world” by psychologist Alan Downs speaks to the shame that is such a part of the experience of exclusion.
Here the disparate groups of once truly fringe folk have coalesced into a minority lobby along with their friends.
As part of consumer society the LGBT movement has gained financial and political weight.  Once a fringe expression against the criminalization of sexuality or just plain marginalization. The Pride Parades  began in protest and rapidly became solidarity. 1969 Stonewall Riots began the roll back of the State scapegoaintg of another minority.  I couldn’t help but think of the Irish and the Irish Parade, actually the last parade I attended, wearing a great green hat on the occasion.  The Pride Parade now competes with the Chinese New Year Parade for loudness and colour.
I hadn’t been here in more than a decade because of a conflicting medical conference. I’d wanted to go to support the Recovery community a significant presence.  The Last Door Float is a sensation. I loved seeing those Clean and Sober dancing in the street. There was significant representation from the native societies andMetis. I loved the Durex Condom group, lots of fun and frolic indeed. I’ve always loved what began as Dykes on Bikes but now even included a unicycle.
In the audience which lined the sidewalk six deep it seemed there were more young people. I am getting old. Still lots of skin and and youth and beauty along with young families. Lots of Asian but people of every origin and mix. Typical Vancouver. Truly diverse. Rainbow shorts and capes and ribbons. Multicoloured ballon’s and loud club  music. Costumes were way over the top. Lots of sparkle and glitter.
When I was growing up being gay was illegal. I didn’t know it then but later learned even heterosexuals were restricted to missionary sex. State and religious control was intrusisive and ubiquitous.
The basic message of Christianity was “Love God and Love your neighbour as yourself “ but the son of man and son of God who said that was killed by the church and state. No wonder aliens tell their children to lock their doors when they fly past the earth. They kill God there.
After the despair of COVID’s and lockdowns I was thankful to be dressed up participating in this freedom celebration. Tamara Lich of the Freedom Convoy is still persecuted by Ottawa even as farmers protest more government overreach and abuse of power. The sadness is we are said to get the government we deserve. Ironically the Pride Parade invites humility. These are the jesters and this is the circus. Would there were such a parade for the bankers, judges, money launderers and drug dealers. I imagine it would be very dull in greys and blacks, men and women in suits frowning and not dancing.
I was glad to come and go. A huge turn out. As much as any parade it seemed this was just a chance for laughter and play. Certainly this beautiful city by the sea on this hottest of days was glad to participate.

16 years old: Dad, Camp Stevens, poetry, guitar. 12 inches

16 years old was a very big year.  The line between 15 and 16 years old blurs because Camp Stevens fell between Gr. 8 and 9 or Gr. 9 and 10.  These times blur.  Somewhere later in storage I might find the reminders that would tighten the date line up.  I kept a journal all these years.  The trouble was that with one of my divorces the ex destroyed years of writing and disrupted my whole organizational system. She was high on spite and cocaine and at the time didn’t consider husbands as higher than slugs. I was escaping with my life from years of chaos, passive aggressiveness, covert aggression, drugs, negligence and arrogance.  I’d met my match and I was lucky to get out alive. My friends believed she really was trying to kill me and more than once had almost killed us and others with her.  Crazy lady.  I married her and I loved her for what it was better or worse. But I wasn’t going to an early death with her and her drugs and lies.  I surrendered. It got too crazy even for me. And I’d been arrogant to think I could help her and that love conquered all. Well it didn’t.

I began writing this in part because I’m planning on tackling the storage locker and going through these old journals and some of the files I’ve kept for years.  Starting at 12 I’d produce a couple of binders of hand written journals or poetry and even some scrapbooks.  It’s sad so much was destroyed. Like ISIS wiping out the temples of the Zoroastrian, Christians, and Jews.  My personal shrines destroyed. There will be no other religion but one.  A divorce is like a war. There’s a lot of scorched earth.  Both people come away scarred but little do we remember the wounds we inflicted. But boy or boy do we dwell on the wounds we received.  I’m still working on forgiveness.

My first big work  began with Camp Stevens.  I took a paying job there for 6 weeks or more.  It’s a camp job. For people who have never worked in ‘camps’ in the north they usually don’t have a clue as to what this is.  I’d get my first experience and later admire the men and women who went off to the out of the way places, mostly in the north and work while the sun shined where the work was.

I’d been working for my Dad now for a couple of years. Before that I cut lawns. Tried a paper route one yard. Always worked in addition to school and everything else. Dadhelped me get my millwright helper ticket. I’d begin to work on job sites with him. That’s when I really appreciated how others saw him.  He was really smart and a hard worker and problem solver. My brother was annoyed that he didn’t wear a suit. He always wore work clothes and got his hands dirty.  My brother felt that he didn’t show his status and consequently wasn’t respected as much as he should have been. He was high status but did portray this. He didn’t even have his engineering diploma displayed on the wall.  That was my dad, a humble man. A shirt and tie didn’t make the man for me.  What I saw working with Dad was that all the men followed his direction and sought his advice.  He was given the authority over hundreds of men and managed it. That’s no small feat. Business owners and employees all admired him.  I didn’t know that till I worked on big job sites with him. The men all spoke highly of him too.  Sure took the wind out of this adolescents sails, considering I by contrast was a ‘know it all’ as teens can be.

I’d only work on weekends or in the summer or evenings like this. Dad would get these industrial painting contracts or roofing contracts and we’d work as a family evenings in the spring summer and fall getting the work done. My brother was a worker too. I was spoiled as a kid working with these great men. It was rare for me the rest of my life to be surrounded by people set on working their best with a view to completing the task its best as quickly as excellence permitted.  Being an owner operator Dad took pride in his work knowing that would bring in contracts word of mouth.  As his sons he’d trained us since childhood to meet challenges and to be conscientious.  We had fun too.  Working as a family doing physical construction type work is rewarding.  Later he’d leave me to do jobs like painting the apartment building. If I needed money he’d find work for me.  I think people and governments that give out money for free are doing a disservice to people and really don’t respect them. I’m personally not as wise or accomplished as my brother or father with money. I give out charity but I think often it’s from a place of fear.  Dad loved me and showed his love by finding me work that paid. My brother carried that on with his children.

Camp Stevens was my first actual ‘longer term job’.   6 weeks away from home working and living in the camp.  As a “cookie” , the job title for camp kitchen help,we were in a nebulous position in the camp. We bunked with the camp leaders but we were actual employees.

The camp cook was a crazy lady.  An emotional angry efficient Nazi of a leader. She was loveable too in that blustery middle aged lost way some women are.  She took no ‘guff’.  She was a worker and she got the job done. We were her slaves and we did as we were told. There were three of us ‘cookies’ , an assistant cook and a cook That was the kitchen. We were up at 5. We had to get the breakfast made for 150 kids.  The cook had an elaborate healthy menu with scrambled eggs, pan cakes and hash browns, bacon and toast and jam for breakfast.  Sandwiches and salads or soups for lunch. Then dinners were a variety of roasts and stews and soups.  She really had a good taste sense and made great meals which the kids and staff enjoyed. There were recipes that had developed over the many years of the camp. I thought they were hers but no they were just one thing more the YMCA ensured worked well with excellence.  The YMCA was and is an amazing organization of excellence and yet modest cost. Camp Stevens was and remains one of the great camps for boys.  I don’t know if girls are going there now.  YWCA at the time had another camp on the other side of the same lake.  I found this out because the leaders had a panty raid with a retaliation by the girl leaders stealing the guys underwear another night.

Because we bunked with the leaders who were mostly there for fun and a small honarium we had a lot of the experience of the camp albeit as the ‘hired help’.

The one other woman in the camp was the gorgeous nurse.  I believe that nurse at Camp Stevens caused me forever to love nurses. She was the source of all the erotic fantasies of all the boys of Camp Stevens for years to come.  I was especially traumatized by her godliness because as camp help we got to share her shower on occasion. She had the only hot shower.  “Her’ shower smelt heavenly, lilac and other sweet feminine fragrances.  Each of us talked about being in there after our shower.  Guys masturbated in the bunks trying to be discrete.  Some less so than others.  There wasn’t any porn so memory sufficed. The nurse really was gorgeous. We’d imagine her naked there washing off with any of the vast collection of shampoos and lotions she kept.  She dated a couple of the older leaders that summer. She wore white short shorts and mini skirts.

Once  we made the breakfast we had to do the clean up. I found out I loved working a dish washing machine. I liked spraying off the left over food stacking and then getting that soul gratification of closing the door locking the mechanism and pushing the button to begin the cycle. Then it was the unstacking and storing. I competed against myself and got incredibly fast. It was a ‘skill’ and I liked acquiring ‘skills’ and having ‘competence’ with them. This was an important part of the ethics of Boy Scouts , the YMCA and frankly ‘manliness’ of the day.   Competence was such an important word.  It was the height of praise to be called ‘competent’.  I would become ‘competent’ in a lot of things over my life arriving at that point where I could accomplish a task well, reliably and on my own.  I really miss ‘competence’ when I see it lacking.  It’s not perfection but a level of ‘good enough’, a kind of B or A standard, not A plus but certainly more than C. It was the basis of professionalism in earlier days.

The afternoon was peeling potatoes.  We had potatoes for breakfast and evening many days a week so had to peel hundreds of potatoes, hundreds. We’d shuck pees too and peel carrots. Hours of this.  One of the cookies wasn’t  very good. A funny guy. Not fast and not very competent.  Still two hands is better than one.  The other cookie who’d been there the year before was great. We’d become friends too. We all hung out together but this other guy and I had more in common. We both had hunting and fishing back grounds whereas the whining kid was purely city spawn.  He was all tv , hollywood and talk.  Not very competent.

Jon Cowtan was the assistant camp cook. Jon would become my lasting friend and sometime mentor.  He was president of the North American Unitarian Youth Groups at the time.  A year or two later I’d storm out of my parents home and move in with him. He played guitar. We became fast friends at Camp Stevens talking ethics and philosophy and religion.  We both canoed evenings when we had a little free time.  We’d be canoeing on the moon lit lake just enjoying the call the loon or the hoot of the owl. Often I’d paddle at the back and Jon would bring his guitar and play. He was into jazz and fingering styles ahead of his time.  He’d sing too at other times  but playing guitar was his passion.

He taught me my early chords. The first song I learned was “Draft Dodger Rag”We’d talk politics and war. I can’t explain how much we all feared that the Vietnam War would expand into a global conflict. As guys we discussed volunteering to ‘fight commies’.  We worried we’d be conscripted if the Russians got in. We met draft dodgers.  They talked a lot. They were usually stoned.  The soldiers didn’t talk. They often had the thousand mile stare.

It was good to talk with Jon. He was a little older and a whole lot wiser.  He’d traveled more too. Met more people. The unitarians were an intellectual lot and had a breadth of consideration.  We didn’t argue.  I didn’t argue religion.  I was curious and interested and learned a lot in my teens and twenties. The only time I’d argue with someone was when I saw they weren’t sure so were trying to get certainty by selling their idea to me.  I thought the best ideas were free so that complicated things. Freedom was a big word then.

‘What’s that I hear....that’s the sound of freedom coming’ was another song I learned from Jon.  The best one though was “Elusive Butterfly”. Jon played that song beautifully and I’d spend years trying to play it right.

To put this playing guitar and skill thing in perspective. My friend Kirk who played guitar a bit like me told me in his 30’s, ‘you know that rift Danny used to play.’  I finally figured it out and got it down last weekend. I knew because I’d been practicing that same ‘distinctive Donahue rift’ for a decade or more myself and it had taken me just as long to get it.

Some guys were really talented, natural and obsessed with an instrument. Jon and Danny were like that. Regular George Harrison and Paul Simon types.

So that was the summer I was peeling potatoes and learning guitar, making friends.

The cook had a nervous breakdown and maybe alcohol was a contributor. I can’t say. Just one day she was shouting then the next she was packing her bags. Jon became the cook then and I became the asssitant cook until we got a replacement.

The camp ran in two week stretches .150 boys at a time. We’d get a day off between the groups leaving and coming. That was the big day in Kenora. Kenora was one of those big towns for folk out on a camp. When you’re weeks in the woods whatever town that’s nearby takes on aspects of a city. It’s got that ‘feel’. It also takes time eventually to adjust back into the noise and rush of bigger cities.  Working years up north I remember first having this experience in Kenora.

Camp Stevens was a great summer job even if the money was very poor. The experience and friendship were incredible. Just meeting Jon was worth the trip.  Beginning to play guitars and more poetry writing.  Politics, romance, religion and God.  Lots of Christian men and Christian creations but no one talked of Jesus.  We lived like the disciples in many ways and our discussions were becoming more and more high minded despite the occasional lapse into full blown adolescence.

That came when one of the guys said he had the longest dick and bet everyone he did.  These memories are too bizarre to make up. Everyone has $5 dollars riding on the outcome and we’re sitting around the hall on chairs with our backs to the wall. 20 guys all waiting, money in hand, backs to the wall. One guy has a tape measure. This guy then pulled out his pencil thin boa constrictor. It was long, not huge, but really long. More than 12 inches.  It was measured. Not even hard.  No one wanted that thing hard.  No one brought out a competitor.  He collected the the money. We had a feeling he’d collected winnings with that thing before. We had to share a bunkhouse with him so that was a source of jokes too.  It didn’t win him friends. It was a circus thing. He was a bit of a freak now. Already a peculiar kid so he was more a loner.  In time we all forgot he was different.  Differences lapsed for boys really quick when we’re working and playing sports together.  That week we all lost money we thought about this guy as weird but after that he just became another weird kid. Like the guy who could go cross eyed or rather went cross eyed and had to consciously keep his eyes uncrossed. Nobody was ever as weird as the Cub Scout who put ketchup on his corn flakes years earlier.

Dreams

I believe dreams are a special reality. Dr. Carl Jung called them the "collective unconscious".  I believe they are this and more, as sometimes my dreams show me what I believe is heaven.  The best of dreams include my former dogs returning to visit and visits from deceased family members.  Those are most comforting. I've always loved Robin Williams movie, "What dreams may come." Our sense of linear time is illusion like so many of our other subjective perceptions.  Working as I have so long with mental processes and the so called mentally ill I've gaine a fine appreciation for the diversity of possibilities or potential of experience.
This morning I woke from the deepest of dreams.  I didn't know what the sound of the alarm clock was.  It took me time to find it and turn it off. I was only slowly coming to my awareness in this present state. it's like that sometimes, like I've cross over into another life or a different dimension.
I was so engaged in my dream.  I remember flying with explorer Anthony in his white experimental plan. He aimed it first for what looked like a round rifle sight. We were literally skimming flat over the surface of this peninsula with me fearing we'd crash only to lifted upwards when we passed this little peak the height of a house and then we were aerobatic.  We shot straight up at incredible speed and the ride was a sensational rush.  I remember trusting Anthony and thinking I'm glad that I do.  There were a couple of others in this incredible machine with me but I don't remember who.
Then in another fragment I was at a conference in Turkey with an old gay friend, all of us researchers and doctors.  I was interested in a pamphlet which disappeared.  I was thankful to be with this old school friend but feeling he'd changed little and glad to meet two friends I suspected were gay though frankly I never knew, only I felt safe in their company and appreciative of their wisdom and life experience. One was Dave. I had that sense of being in a socially awkward moment in a foreign country feeling lll at ease and there was Dave smiling and so trustworthy. I remember relaxing but then going into the scientific conference and seeing that the pamphlets were now no longer in the lobby but under view in the main room.  A rather suspicious little man suddenly thrust a red and black poster in my hand saying this was the one you wanted.
The poster was like those I'd seen from the old Soviet era in Ulyanovsk in the Lenin museum.  Black and red and loud. I'd just been telling someone how Lenin's house was the ultimate in beurgeosie and his family socialized with the czar.  I remember rolling this poster up and fearing that if I were caught with it I'd potentially go to jail. It was some 'radical' , an intellectual I didn't know. But there was so much intrigue and espionage in the air and people about were so thrilled. I was somehow caught up in this fervour.
I remember a girl too, pretty and warm.  We were walking and talking near the water.  I felt safe in her company too.
Then I was in a drawing room and the men were discussing Donald Trump in lowered voices not quite whispers. The gay men were welcoming him as the only force which would still the jihadist forces that would kill them.  We had to remember this was in Turkey where the leadership longed for return of the Ottoman Empire. All over Europe there were these individuals from the upper classes who wanted the 'old days', the French their Napoleonic era, the German's the days of Bismarck, the English , their days of Victorian Empire.  It was a heady place with all the competing elements and these extremely worldly narcissistic fiercely nationalistic voices all threatened and overwhelmed by Trump. America was number one in the world and no one wanted diversity or democracy or any such public consumption idea, they all just wanted to be number one.  They wanted to have their old glory and to take back the position of leadership from Trump. Quite in contrast to the views of opposition forces at home he was considered in this discussion a genius and greatest of leaders, a regular Washington, de Gaulle , or Churchill or Bismarck.  The views were those of leaders who merely admired greatest, like a collection of Martial artists standing about after the world champion has been declared, discussing his attributes.  There was an element of the Hessian Glass Bead Game in that room, something of a library, where men through the ages had discussed kings and queens like one might football or hockey or soccer coaches.  There wasn't any of the partisan stupidity but simply admiration and a lack of speculation about where he was going. The future was unknown just as it had been when Stalin and Monty and Patton had been walking on the face of the earth.
Because this was Turkey and so many old communists were among the jihadists I felt they kept their voices low and I was a listener but just by being there caught up in the intrigue and knowing that outside of America and indeed in fewer places even in the west this conversation that was so original and pragmatic could not go on without risk to the lives of the individuals. I loved these men talking openly among themselves knowing that they so wanted freedom and yet here we were all potentially facing jail for just participating in discussion.
Politics and religion are topics that are taboo in most of the world.
I thought fondly of my friends and found myself walking down corridors in this grand old hotel where the conference was occurring.  I was carrying this poster and didn't even know the man and had been involved in a political discussion and I had openly gay friends and had myself such history and now was in a country where I could be arrested and tortured for my sexuality, my political belief and my Christian faith.
I awoke from this exciting heady dream and felt youthful again, like I had when I'd left home and gone to Europe and encountered so many ideas and later studied at the university.  I laught when I think of the abuse of the word 'diversity' by those who fear anything but their own echo chambers.  White is black and black is white in the midst of change. The adage 'confusion is the harbinger of change' goes right along with 'cloud of unknowing' and 'fog of war'.  The present media favourites speak with a certainty that shows the limits of their exploration. Always there is uncertainty and fear with such uncertainty. The ancients spoke of 'awe' with talk of God and change.  The silly think they want change but mostly they just want dominance and escape.  The Chinese blessing and curse is , "may you live in interesting times'.
I'm in an unsettling move.  Kim Jong sun is shooting nuclear missiles over Japan.  China and Russia seem still allies despite one being Christian and the other aetheist.  The Middle East is ever uncertain with Israel the only sanity in the region and increasingly Canada joining with blood thirsty monarchs over the friendship of Jews increasingly persecuted as Christians are in this new 'progressive' and 'tolerant' society of increasing hate and violence within.
I was comforted by my dream.  I thought of my friend Anthony flying that plane and Dave being at the conference and the sweet girl by the sea. It was all reassuring but fascinating and full of intrigue. I felt was an observer in a James Bond movie though more likely I'd be in a Flashman novel somehow.
Now I'm coming into this world and have to face those in the downtown epidemic, helping and cajoling and begging and selling sobriety and abstinence. I'm invested and present. I want my patients to live. I know it's the de rigor to be detached and cold , just giving out the medication. But I've been through watching my brother sick and dying with his doctors and those I most admired and those he most was enliverned by were terribly human as I am.  I am dominated and ruled by cold Confuscian beurocrats who make rules and stay as far from reality as their desks can place them but they are ego driven and demand we all mirror them.  Some colleagues dress like government beurocrats and lawyers.  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I fear I should cut my hair and forego my sandals but take comfort in my colleague who comes to work in shorts and my other colleague who has such a sense of humor having escaped from a country which was like ours is sadly becoming. Her charm and wisdom comfort me.
This world is as exciting as my dream. Yesterday the ride to work on the Harley was exhilarating. Today I've got to drop off the laundry so much take the sports car. Gilbert my dog will enjoy coming along.  Soon he'll have George as company and I'm looking forward to the weekend with Laura.  Both our homes are in dishevelled disarray as we're both moving.  I'm making major headway on the clutter and now just must discard more and more to make my place simpler.

Thoughts on Liberalism: the Religion and the New Sharia Communism of the Godly Godless

After the family the tribe is the fundamental unit of society.  The tribe was a collection of men and women who congregated around a leader, traditionally male with a female partner.  This was considered patriarchy whereas a female leader resulted in a matriarchy.  Tribal organization was defined by kinship.  Fundamental blood relatedness was essential to inclusion or exclusion from a tribe.  Jared Diamond in Traditional Societies reviews this feature at length in his anthropological classic.  Beyond the tribe there was the confederation, federation or nation.  Which is why it’s an misnomer to call most of the Canadian and American tribal aboriginal societies “First Nations” because most had not evolved to this more complex relationship.  The exception was the 5 tribes of the Mohawk Nation on the East Coast of Canada. Certainly aboriginal society had achieved nationhood status in Mesoamerica with the Aztecs and Mayan before them but in the rest of north america there were looser associations.
In the tribe the Strong Man and his Woman divided rule along gender with the masculine affairs being military and policing of the physical world while the feminine affairs were more internal to the tribe, religion and health care.  Vestiges of these ideas remain in terms that describe modern hospitals as hotels of god.  There’s this inner and outer sanctuary. The masculine, commonly associated with the Sun and the external or daylight world while the feminine was associated with the Moon, internal or night time world.  There are multiple variations on this obvious reductionism but it is necessary background to understanding Liberalism as the religion it is today.
It's all further confused by the most masculine religion of Islam having a moon goddess and the most feminine religion of Christianity originating as a empire religion with the sun god worshipping Emperor Constantine.  Intellectually, the limits of which are best set forth by Paul Johnson, in his classic, the Intellectuals, there is dichotomy but reality is neither black or white but various shades of grey.  St. Paul described this best by saying that here 'we see through a glass darkly.'  The great medieval saint described the mystical experience and God as "the cloud of unknowing'. Not surprising war is described as the 'fog of war'.  Only arm chair philosophers, Monday morning quarterbacks and eurocrats best described by Kafka know better.
Karen Armstrong in her classic history, Fields of Blood extensively reviewed the association of war and religion. What she found was that at the hunting gathering tribal level there was sanctity of life and little all out war.  Tribes were small and maintained by kinship and conflicted with each other over territory and resources.  The women leading the children did the gathering which accounted for 50% at least of the food while the men in hunting groups roamed the territory of the tribe securing wary game. The methods of food collection were limited with a major focus of time and resources being spent on acquiring food.  Tribal conflicts were limited affairs because food storage was ever a problem and there was simply not time or energy to give to any but cursory combat.  To mount major war fare agriculture was necessary.  Alternatively cattle and sheep herding could provide a mobile food source.  The pemican of the buffalo hunters allowed for limited war as a portable food maintainable food.  Today with refrigeration and drying process and all the transportation and food management of great metropolis's we take this all for granted. Napoleon Bonaparte knew "an army marches on its stomach."
Today's poverty and starvation are continuations of war politics. Matheus recognized that population control operated through the causes of starvation, pestilence and war. Further pestilence and starvation were operations of war. The three were intimately linked. The idea that poverty and starvation are merely a consequence of arbitrary lack of resources overlooks their design and strategy. Gifts of food and medicine are traded for guns all over the world just as they are traded for drugs by the starving homeless in the inner cities.
Agriculture, on a major scale, first occurred in the Fertile Triangle.  Here abundance resulted in the rise of a ruling class which had not been present to any degree in the tribe.  All of the tribe were previously involved in resource management with the leader often simply being the best hunter. The religion with it’s taboos and superstitions followed observations that ‘explained’ the phenomena witnessed by the tribe.  The religion necessary supported the Strong Man or else it would be destroyed. The Strong Man of history was called such because of his/her capacity for violence, paranoia and charismatic leadership.  With the advent of agriculture, grains could be stored, for campaigns. Not only that a class division could occur with peasants or slaves doing the work of agriculture while a few ruled with violence and technology. Again the religion supported this division or else the religiously leadership were removed (killed).
Jared Diamond and Karen Armstrong have impressively demonstrated that with agriculture and portable storable food it didn’t take great intelligence to realize that increased wealth could be achieved by war and piracy.  Campaigns against neighbours gave  rise to such notable folk ultimately as the Huns, Vikings and various other groups that specialized in war.  The Golden Age of many nations was when their technology and warring capacity was superior to their neighbours resulting in an influx of wealth from conquest and theft.  Dr. Johnson summed this up with the phrase best paraphrased by Bob Dylan, “steal a little and they put you in jail, steal a lot and they make you king."
Throughout history the problem has been motivating groups of people. The proverbial carrot and stick have proved central. The Torah and Koran, Chinese texts  and even the  Vedas all derive from this time of warring nations, collections of tribes, forming alliances and contesting in an attempt to make an ever greater cohesive body. This is the basis of empires. There are monarchies and then empires with holy wars and ultimately Caesar as God.  Then there is a move in the east and the west to the God being invisible, the early Buddhist warrior invasions of Cambodia, the Chinese and the Dao and Japanese and Shinto and Mohammed and Allah and Constantine and the Christian God Yahvew, the ‘unspeakable beingness name of the God of the Jews.”  Definitely heady times but ultimately all apart of the evolution and devolution we see at the very cellular level with increasingly complexity and organization.  King Lear says to Cornelius in the end, "We'll talk of court news, we'll talk of them too - who loses, who wins; who's in, who's out - and take upon the mystery of things, as if we were God's spies...."
Today that’s culminated in Liberalism and the Globalist Ideologies.  Liberalism demands like all religions that all share it’s basic beliefs and language. There is a superstition in religion that if everyone doesn't agree to worship the same ideas then God will be unhappy and strike the community with calamity.  Ironically Liberalism espouses verbally 'diversity' while  being the least inclusive excluding anyone that disagrees with liberalism especially conservatives.  The State must have no other Gods before it.  The Liberal must have no other Gods before it.  All of the  slogans of liberalism sound good in word while in fact they're more often than not it's opposite.  The Mein Kemp and Communist Manifesto are wonderful sounding socialist treatises far less messy and pedantic than Magna Carta and  the Declaration of Independence.
Religions and States have a central need for inclusion and exclusion.  The Roman’s achieved this through ‘citizenship’. The Ottoman empire had a similar mechanism of allowing tribal members to rise within their ranks.  The Jews would to a great extent restrict themselves to blood relationships and influence while others tried various mechanisms to essentially fulfill the task of ‘herding cats.’
Today the religion of liberalism demands that you reject God as an unseen or traditional force.  It's in place you have the State. Socialism, the first major atheist religion, demanded that the State be seen as God.  Marx posited a ‘collective consciousness’ which was a contrast to the “collective unconscious’ described Dr. Carl Jung.  Marx called ‘religion, the opiate of the masses’ all the while developing his own religion with his God as a worker state calling for an International Workers to Unite.  Neitze called Christianity the peasant religion and posited his Superman religion for the benefit of the Strongman and Strong woman of his day.  He said God was dead but he himself died instead. Survival of the fittest appeals most to the winners rather than the losers. Genetics allows the king to say to the revolutionary you must be born king.  There are various strategies for maintaining power since historically revolution and war and the principal means of acquiring power since the time of agriculture and herding. Industrialization just reduced the need for so many bodies as machines could do the jobs.
As Joan Bias, American folk singer said in the Rolling Stone magazine, the shit is still falling from above and there's still fewer of them than us. The only difference is the elite now have 'shit making machines'.  The oldest law of the world is the Chinese Law of the Fish, 'there are big fish and there are little fish and the little fish must be fast and numerous.'
A key superstition of groups demands that all participate in the ‘idea’ or the ‘project’ or the ‘war’.  Indeed having everyone on board with something is the basis of taboos as well. The idea was that if one person in the group did something then all would suffer as a consequence of that person’s deviation.  In an age where children were the material of the work force and the military unit then anything that interfered with child production and rearing was taboo.  Homosexuality was acceptable if men reproduced.  The Spartans had their wives but had homosexual relationships on the side.   Homosexual acts were not the issue but the issue was if there was a refusal to produce war and work materials. Children have always been the old age pension of the mother and the father.  So even today the fear of homosexuality is not the act but rather the absence of grandchildren.  The family was the fundamental building block of the tribe and state but Marx and Engels argued that the reproductive function should be subservient to the state. Marx was especially misyogynist. The Frankfurt Group which tried to mix Freud and Marx into a Cultural Communism or socialism persisted in believing that the fundamental bond of ‘mother and child’ was fundamentally ‘bourgeoisie’. In the socialist system the mother rejected was reduced to  the term ‘breeder’.  The historic spiritual feminine power of the mother was reduced in an attempt to give all power to the masculine State, increasingly a military unit with political agents replacing the priests of medieval age.
The simple solution of revolutions was to steal the riches and kill those who created them, a system originally developed thousands of years before Christ. Of course if one submitted fully then they could be brought into the ‘new world order’.  This phenomena was best described by the Science Fiction technological drone species of Star Trek fame called the" Borg"  Their greeting and  command is “We are the Borg, You will Assimilate. Resistance is futile”.  As reality is said to be stranger than fiction with have the Islam command of 'submit' and 'assimilate' and the communist demand that resistance is future.  Marx claimed that perpetual war between Bougeosie and Proletariat would lead to eventual world communism.
The solution to herding cats for the Atheist Socialists of Communism was  killing 60 million dissidents in the USSR while making countless millions slave labour in the Gulags.  The Chinese communists killed a hundred million. The communist pol pot nearly halved their nation.  To date atheists appear the greatest most efficient killers of all time.  The thought experiment of Marxism has failed repeatedly but as a revolutionary strategy it’s been highly successful based on the paranoid reduction of ‘us and them’. It continues today all the rage in ‘identity politics’ . Any group with define itself by some characteristic, race, gender, height or weight or whatever and then self proclaim themselves as the ‘victim or oppressed" and the "other", whoever that is, then becomes the " victimizer or oppressor”.  Paranoid schizophrenics always view the world as 'us and them'.  The liberal language really is the language of insanity
The religious parallel has been Islam with a similar demand for assimilation called 'submission or the sword."  There is no freedom in Islam.   Second only to atheism Islam has killed more people in history than any other group.  Islam means ‘submit’ and here the superstition is that everyone must submit to Allah with the underlying unconscious belief that with collective agreement the group will have the pleasure of the deity. The idea of deviance in the tribe was that any difference and individual might attract destruction for the group.
In the early tribal history the great fear was climate changes like drought and floods which affected crops.
Today we have the fear mongering Climate Change Cult demanding ‘consensus’ or the sky will fall and earth will die. Their racket is saving Gaia the planet, a mother earth god.  It’s really surprising how little progress is made mimetically when the themes are considered.  Virgins were sacrificed en mass for the Mayans and Aztecs to ensure the Climate Change Cult of the day, mathematicians with rock computers could maintain their plush lush lifestyle.  The surface looks different but at the deep level the same play of superstition and taboo persists. The elite manipulate the fears of the masses and in return gain more power and control and of course virgins, boys or girls, depending on the flavour of the month.
Sharia communism is the interesting alliance of these two apparently different groups which have made an unholy allegiance no different from Hitler and Stalin, the two great socialisms of the day, Stalins’ International socialism’ and Hitler’s National Socialism’.  Both wanted world dominion.
Today the old communists continue to demand world dominion driven by their fears. These atheists kicked out of Russia by the return of Mother Church of Christendom.  Brussels and the UN persist in the Babylon  attempt at a Global State, atheist global rule, centrist communist authority, not surprisingly promoted by Merkel the former East German communist now nominally Lutheran.
Islam a carry over from medieval days continues with it’s monarchies and world dominion themes. The Hindus, Buddhists and Christians have all actually developed collectively to a federation of diversity in contrast to the two malignant forces of superstitious taboo and religiopolitical conformity. Islam determines the length of skirt of women whereas at one time communism dictated the colour of paint used in buildings. Political correctness is the series of taboos of the atheist religion.
After WWII the Security Council of the United Nations was made of China, Russia, USA, Britain, and France.  These are the allies that defeated the great Axis of evil, Germany, Italy and Japan.  The principle function of the Security Council was to maintain the status quo and it served as the major arms dealers in the world.  These competing military complexes persist to today.  The atheist religion of the USSR communism has been replaced by the reassertion of the mother centred Orthodox Christianity.  China remains atheist communist but Christianity and other god based religions have challenged the State atheist religion brand.  The British and French empires have similarly broken up while retaining freedom of religion.
In the war between atheist China and theistic India, India won  Now Indian, pluralistic theistic nation continues to be challenged by the Pakistani militant Islam.
In contrast to other religions, Islam has maintained it’s principle function as Jihad or War Religion of Assimilation.  In the time of the Crusades Islam's  violent invasion of the middle east and invasion of Europe through Spain and in Italy to Venice was only stopped by the combined forces of European Christendom. Mohammed is one of the greatest murderers of all time.  In India where the Hindus had been invaded and ‘put to the sword’ by the Muslims the British empire with it’s Naval Supremacy had established peace to support trade.  The Ottoman Empire was the largest land based empire of the day, the ethnic Turks with the Islam religion celebrated recurrent wars of victory against the infidel. Islam is a religion of constant jihad.  Ironically Islam claims to be a religion of peace and beheads anyone that disagrees.
Sharia Communism is the latest herding cats strategy. Both are religions of constant and perpetual war.
Liberalism demands adherence to the idea of ideological sexuality.  What "I think" defines my sex. Islam offers virgins in heaven. The socialism of the 60's separated child bearing from sex and with the birth control pill and abortion heralded the sexual revolution.  LGBT etc community has joined the liberal cause because the conservative position was celebrating the mother and family.   Feminism, itself  a sect of the daughter religion,  came as a war between the mother and daughter.  The attack of the daughter was against the mother’s choice of father and the allegiance between mother and father.  Lesbianism removed the need of father as more than 'sperm done' and the Trinity of family , central to the Trinity of Christen god was reduced to the dichotomy of Mother Daughter.  Not surprising transsexualism arises and men incapable of child bearing claim to be woman as the Daughter not the Mother is the god of this sect of Liberalism.  (Transexualism and hermaphritism and homosexuality and bisexuality have always been present throughout history but never as the dominant authority they have today. Lord of the Flies and 1984 are all prescient)
The adolescent rebellion was death based and abortion of the grand children and threat of suicide if you don’t join me against him was central to this dynamic. Women in this reductionist ideology were the ‘oppressed’ and men were the ‘oppressor’. In fact daughters or feminists were principally oppressed by their mothers who were aligned with the Strong man.  The divide and conquer of liberalism and today’s identity politics has resulted in the elite rich gaining more power than all previous history, the division between wealth and poverty accelerating with increasingly liberal Power Couples such as Hillary and Bill Clinton and Michelle and Barack Obama and Sophie and Justin Trudeau all claiming to represent the gender divided populace of modern liberalism.  All of these purported to support the individual all the while the remain 'family' groupings of profound wealth and bring to mind the Ottoman Empire's use of Eunuch's to maintain their power.  Power Couples and Power Families compete for the adults.  In Canada in an attempt to get greater votes the Liberals wish to expand the electorate to adolescence because the message of the liberal brand sells best to youth.  Western youth like the children of monarch's remain attached to the umbilical chord of the family for ever increasingly lengths of time.
Abortion has been a principle liberal tenant along with euthanasia resulting in Liberalism being defined by some as the Religion of Death. Ironically while they cry wolf with the ‘skies falling’ and the “world's going to end’ so we much tax carbon, the very air we breathe, they celebrate killing of the unborn and old. Traditionaly a culture was judged by how well it treated its children, invalids and old. The so called 'multiculturalism' of the state by definition is therefore no more than 'un cultured'. The world is collectively the Wild West.
Islam by contrast to Communism has been able to maintain ‘submission’ for hundreds of years. The Communist totalitarianism lasted a mere hundred by comparison so the joining of Sharia and Communism purports to be a much more powerful mechanism of ‘herding cats’.
The idea since agricultural times is for the elite to have as much freedom and control and for the rest to do the work and obey. Submit. Resistance is futile.
Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly are freedoms that westerners, especially Canadians, take for granted not realizing that none of these exist in Communist countries or Islam.  The beauty of both Communism and Islam and today's UN and Brussels is that they ensure the most centralized authority and wealth to the fewest people who are at the top.
I asked a person who survived communism what it was like when the Berlin Wall fell and USSR dissolved. He said, “We were poor before. We were not able to complain or we’d be put in jail.  Then we remained poor and maybe even poorer but we were able to complain.  The leaders stopped calling themselves communists and called themselves businessmen. They were the same people, just different names.  And we just became complaining poor people."  Different names. The language of the Liberals.
The Oligarchs of China are the present Committee Communist central authority dictators.  Lenin actually called it 'Dictatorship of the Proletariat."  George Carlin the comedian does the best skit on the Rulers.  "They don't care about us."   Once the emperor was Mao, today it’s Xi Jinping.  No one can imagine the personal wealth and power of this man Xi Jinping. The key is the language of politics.
Corporations represent the Medieval baroncies.  They’re a parallel power to the existing nations, transnational entities like the Secret Societies, like Free Masons of olden days. They have their own security forces or armies or police.
The Secular Age would argue that religion is no more but it’s alive and well in Atheist Communism and Islam. The question is really about Centrist or Federalist authority.  The whole of the American constitution was about State and Federal Powers, local versus distant power,  as these were deemed by the founding fathers as most important.  In Canada, the British Empire kept the Commonwealth a loose federalist association with the central authority dominating so that the Monarch could maintain power. Canadians still colonials never appreciate the extent of the propaganda of their central authority Communist Broadcasting Corporation as compared to the State Powers in the Us union or federation.  This  monarch centrist position was greatest in the Calif role of the Ottoman Empire and today exists with King Saud of Saudi Arabia who dictates not only his country and distant resources but also creates the jihad religion of sunni wahabi and the Mecca central control mechanism.   Blood related elites and dynastic rule like the Bush family and the brand Trudeau can't compete with hundreds of years of rule and a medieval peasant society kept with fewer freedom than the middle age Christians.   It really was surprising however that the Clinton brand was Trumped.
In totalitarian countries everyone is trying to escape hence the Iron Curtain communist attempt to keep everyone in and the Migrant movement out of Muslim countries to the freedom of the west.  Trump's wall and the historic immigration policies of the west have been principally to keep people out.  Sharia totalitarianism appeals only to the elite.  The Population Jihad of Islam is no different than the rise of the once defeated aboriginal class of Canada’s whose baby force has increased the percentage of native vote and power exponentially while the feminist anti mother class has celebrated the great abortionist Morgetaller and the white race has self imploded. A major problem of all States is what to do with the defeated as they tend to come back to rule in revenge and blood feuds.
Censorship, whether it is the newest version, against “hate speech’ and “islamaphobia’ is no different than that done against the LGBT community where government officials poured over salacious material deciding which to share with the adult population while claiming to defend children from smut, all the while concealing the pedophila rings which hid in the privacy of the elite and their secret societies.
The activist always claims to be fighting on behalf of others less fortunate while denying their own aggression and resentment. Lenin, the murderous lawyer, killed the Czar because the Czar had killed Lenin’s brother when the same tried to kill the Czar. There’s a basic blood feud theme that runs through the elite. Politics makes strange bedfellows and the ultimate rulers to the most of us may as well be the warring and sexing Greek Gods of yore. Todays' afternoon television reigns in the prevailing families which apparently have dominated the world since early days in Italy.
In the Bhagadva Gita Arjuna the boy looks to Krishna the God and says the war is between my relatives. Krishna says, yes, and the decision is whether to participate or not.  All is ultimately civil war and the trick is to convince your side that the other side is 'not human'.
The Dalai Lama's escape from Tibet when the Chinese atheist communist war machine,  machine gunned the peaceful isolated meditating monks en mass continues with ethnic cleansing and genocide today.  The message though is the same as Cappodocea where the Christians built underground cities with Churches or the Meteora where the Christians built monasteries' on pinnacles, until we get individual space ships there's simply no place to escape Atheist Communism and/or Islam. These are the barbarians of today and wherever they go they rape pillage and destroy history and cultures.  "We are the Borg.  You will Assimilate.  Resistance is futile."
The Liberal cause does not address the genoscide and cultural assimilation of the Tibetans but rather celebrates the militaristic Palestinians and calls the Israeli oppressors. The modern United Nations outside of the real politic of the Security Council has become a Sharia Communist western funded propaganda organ against Israel.  Christians are persecuted and killed en mass in Muslim and Atheist Communist territories but Feminist Liberal Leaders like Jutin Trudeau smoking pot and giving tens of  millions to terrorists ignores the persecution of Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Sik, Zorastrians, Bahi, etc . They claim taht the persecutors of Islam and Aethiesm are instead the persecuted. The Marketing Agents of Liberalism maintain that if you tell a lie enough it will be thought to be a truth. Certainly this is the finding of Dr. Peterson who has studied the increasing ignorance of college students who actually are en mass ignoring reality with the help of Liberal professors and widespread availability of drugs.
The language of the Liberal is a religious deceit.  Black is white and white is black.
Addiction, the great idolatry, is described as having sex with a blow up doll and calling it love. Liberalism and the Islam's tribal taqiyya, the doctrine of deception, are akin in that they are ideological definitions of right and wrong with no basis in actual truth or common sense or reality as most understand it.  The communists controlled their nation with their political police just as Islam controls their people with  religious police.
The ends justify the means and the ends is after perpetual rule, the last man standing. For now politics makes strange bedfellows and where once Stalin and Hitler had a Bromance , the  Atheist communists figure they can use Islam to achieve world dominance while Islam figures they can achieve world dominance.

Politics, Meditation and Mental Illness

Politics is defined as the art or science of influencing government policy. I’ve always been surprised by the term ‘science’ in relationship to politics but political science is defined as ‘the social science discipline that deals with the systems of government and the analysis of political activity and behaviour. ‘  A scientific study did show that voting was influenced by sunny versus rainy days. That’s good science.
All aspects of psychology, marketing and logic and rhetoric go into the ‘power game’ of ‘politics’.  Indeed war was considered the last act of diplomacy.  So politics might include nuking the enemy when all else fails.  It’s not a particularly ‘ethical’ or ‘moral’ field if one views history.  Politics has been part of the social behaviour of cannibals and the Amish.  Nazis and Tibetans have politics.
I’d hazard to say that Meditation, the reflection on God or oneness or breath, alone, by oneself, is perhaps the exact opposite of politics.
Monasteries have major political disputes once two monks get together in a cell.  Lovers are fine until the government of bed enters the equation as in ‘whose going to make the bed.'
I’ve had moments of mental illness when I’ve become involved in politics personally. I vote. I contribute money to political parties.  But rarely have I actually got involved in ‘governance.’  I’ve been a ship’s captain and keeping a crew from mutinying when they are frightened has taken all my moral reserve.  Marriage has had me thinking ‘all’s fair in love and war’.
To this end I appreciate the irony and difficulty involved in herding cats and humans.
Lovely studies like the “experiments’  show that most people will devolve quickly to murderous behaviour despite all their pollyanna high minded spiels of peace and good will.
All around the world there are clear and evident examples of the masses of people and large groups acting poorly given half  a chance.  What’s actually miraculously  quite abnormal is to see people acting well.  Those who think it is our ‘nature’ to be love children are to my mind, the most mentally ill, delusional, and likeliest to project their murderous rage on their neighbour.  (They’re commonly attracted to the left wing which generally lacks standards so celebrates inclusivity and later gets into difficulty justifying pedophiles in their midst).
Our closest animal neighbour is the chimpanzee and ask the peaceful rhesus monkey how it likes living beside these fellows when they have a hankering for monkey brain. Even the peace and love bonobos who share equal DNA with chimps and man aren't loathe to kill other primates in a political way.  So, for the mentally ill among us, killing is a ‘natural’ human trait.
However in the war research of “On Killing”,  by Lt Col Dave Grossman, he has noted that collections of humans range from very good killers to not very good killers.  Robert Hare the forensic psychologist has specifically looked at psychopaths and sociopaths.  My favourite Sgte Major described his own killing propensity as “I don’t like killing other humans but there are wolves and I’m like a sheep dog.  The wolves want to kill the sheep and I want to protect the sheep. Killing wolves follows from that."
We are living in a time when the sheep baaas and blatting have loud speakers called media and internet.  The mentally ill deny their capacity for killing but are noted to enjoy the benefits of having killers among them.  Presidents and Prime Ministers who are associated with  the most violent of all, the ruling elites, (the billionaires, the tyrants, the democratic leaders, UN leaders, etc) all would disarm their populations while reserving the right to be surrounded by gun toting secret service and secret armies.  Rarely are these men and women armed themselves so that they can maintain the lie.  It’s always best that others don’t know your riches. Weapons have always been like gold.  Bankers love to have lots of folk with major weapons protecting them.
So I did my time when younger, serving as secretary, vice presidents, and presidents and leaders in various organization.  All my life I’ve been a member of churches and community organizations ‘volunteering’, but not particularly enjoying it.
The nature of my work is people in conflict.  I’ve trained extensively in the politics of groups and family and individuals psychopathology.  I’ve watched corruption permeate unions and administrations.  I’ve had my life threatened and my family threatened when I’ve been effective in curtailing abuse.
Most activists are irrelevant.  They are predominantly distractions.  When the rubber hits the road, money is defended by weapons.  Those who threaten wealth will be threatened. I tell political folk if you aren’t being ridiculed, threatened and demonized and called ‘mentally ill’ then most likely you are helping and enabling the very people you claim to be against.
The thing that all political scientists will tell you is that politics is complex.  Science is ‘multi factorial’.  I loved to play chess. It was the fundamental game to teach leaders politics and war. There are moves within moves.
I got distracted by politics this fall.  Normally I’m trying to keep my head down.  Canada is a terrifying country when you question authority.  It may be the least terrifying country to question authority in or it may be the most deceitful. I belonged to a group called the “psychiatrists against the political abuse of psychiatry’.  When one questions the killer elite (that 1-2% of society that hold power by force) one is imprisoned in a jail or an asylum.  In Canada as opposed to China, Russia, Saudi Arabia or Argentina, political dissidents are rarely killed. They are usually ‘discredited’, and lastly put in jail or asylum. I was for a time a member of Physicans Against Nuclear War, Human Rights Association and the Canadian Civil Liberties.  I have been frankly humbled and terrified by state power and frankly quite ashamed of my own cowardice and how little I tolerate pain and how easily truth can be discarded by the authorities who actually will tell you “we make the truth’.
Since my own “close encounter’ I have worked with torture victims and refugees from countries where the authorities are more heavy handed than here. I know most Canadians don’t know what they’re talking about. I have friends who ‘whisper’ still despite being in Canada for 20 years.  It’s something I’ve yet to learn. That’s what’s so different about Canada.
So I’ve really avoided ‘politics’.  Friends who knew me for causing student rebellions and overturning university magazines with acid tongued satire and political writing haven’t recognized me in recent years. I’m a coward. That’s the difference. I’m no longer innocent and I certainly don’t want to be a fool. There’s no ‘one bad man’.  Modern times are a cowboy show. There’s not ‘good guys and bad guys’.  It’s all a bit grey. The war of words is covered by the ‘fog of war’ just like the real war zone is.  The evil is a ‘nest of men and women’ who are paranoids.
I stopped believing in the left or the right having any true distinction because the ‘elite’ will use whichever political system gives it the most control.  I’ve actually begun to think they’re ready to shaft religion too for the ultimate power of ‘one world order’.
My main dialogue is with God.  While I know God works through people and all of that I personally believe my focus needs to be on the transcendent. I belong to an organization that discourages even ‘righteous anger’ . But having decided a law degree would only help me with increased materialistic wealth, as the courts today are solely about money, and they’ve become a legal theocracy above all else, I thought I’d study for a master of divinity.  I had done a ll the ecumenical studies in Christianity and extensive comparative religious studies and world religion studies.  I was arguing more with God and yet having faith in God’s love.  I worried about arguing with my parents because they’d just send me to my room. When I was married my wife would always win arguments with bedroom violence, the siege techniques of the headaches. It became obvious that no matter how ‘right’ I was others were more prone to covert aggression and less interested in the truth.
I loved books, like Brothers Karamazov, King Lear, the Gospel, The Torah, the Bhagat va Gita, the Koran, Thus Sayest Zarusthra, Franny and Zoe, Yogananda, Of Human Bondage, William James, Das Kapita,  For years I’d study chemistry in the day and read the great tombs of literature in the evening. My wife at the time was a party girl and found my interest in book stores and intellectuals rather offensive.  She liked light hearted chatter with agreeing girlfriends and family and avoided dialogue having come I’d later learn from a violent home where alcohol and fists ruled.
I have known always that homicide or suicide don’t win an ‘argument’.  The person who does either ‘loses the debate’, simply because I don’t believe in death.  I also believe if I wanted to be a killer I could be a better killer than anyone I’ve met. Which is why I became a doctor because it’s much harder to revive someone than it is to destroy them. My colleagues are still working on a cure for radiation poisoning.  I’ve become adept at healing PTSD and really did a lot for people with head injury when no one else found these groups ‘sexy’ or ‘lucrative’.  I’m less interested now that i know more colleagues who are superior clinicians in Neuropsychiatry and some of the great military psychiatrists are finally getting their due for their research in PTSD.  There’s an irony that head injury research had to wait funding not for all the soldiers but for the hockey players and football players to appear to have concerns.
But personally my argument is with God.
My brother developed cancer this spring. He’s a young man. I was with my mom and dad when they were growing old and dying.  My brother’s cancer is to my mind a product of the stress he’s faced being a good man in this country of Canada. He’s the best man I know.  He was my big brother and protected me from bullies. We went to boy scouts together.  We canoed. We hiked, We hunted.  My dad and he and I and a dog were a ‘unit’ in the woods together. Fishing mom would come along in the boat but hunting it was just us three with my brother watching over me. Later he’d join the Billy Graham Movement, a really high minded man who was a leading academic and great sports man.  He’s still playing hockey. He has been married all his life it seems to a beautiful brilliant woman and the  two have had the most incredible brilliant sons all really smart fine people, engineer, geologist, psychologist. They’re hilarious and help out and work together.  They’re a Canadian style Salvador Dali Rockwell Family painting in a Group of Seven backdrop. .
I believe my brother’s cancer is a product of the stress its’ become for good people to be good and do good work in Canada today.”  It wears one down.
I’m in Vancouver where there’s a criminal every  block. The principle economy was drug dealing. There’s gangs and killings and it’s all packaged for tourists like some pretty place where everyone is ‘pretty’.  Yet the principal housing market has been dominated by offshore money which we hear by and by has come from factories run by killing workers or by communist gang theft or simple off shore graft.
My brother and I were in boy scouts.  I loved the movie “The Last Boy Scout”.
As a family we recently watched Star Wars together.  Notice these themes that appeal to the ‘underdogs’.
Politically I got pissed off after my brother got cancer.  I have watched health care funding in Canada plummet and our hospitals become dominated by whack jobs.  We have 20 times the administration of Germany with its equivalent if not superior medical care.  Every doctor including myself lives in fear of political interference.  We are told by lawyers to avoid drawing attention to ourselves. We are literally told to do the least for patients. Our political apparatchiks tell us the patient is the ‘customer’.  I am punished for doing more never for doing less.
So then some wanker calls me a “Climate Change Denier”.  This moron calls me ‘psychotic’ because that’s what ‘denial’ is. He says I’m not a scientist because I’m tired of pseudoscientists from the Silent Spring book, to the Ozone layer, then Methane Layer, Global Freezing, to Global Warming, to now Climate Change Fraud demanding money from real science for this attempt at making the UN a one world order and Agenda 21 the halcyon call for the killer elite of tyrant countries at the UN where freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of science are literally outlawed.  In all these racist sexist  UN countries there are scientists like Gallileo rotting in jails.  The Saudis and the Thais arrest anyone who questions the divinity of the king.  The Saudis behead them.
Now our government has given a few billion dollars to the UN wankers and the Climate Change Cult has spent a trillion and a half on bogus ‘save the planet’ bs, meanwhile I’ve watched medicine cure AIDS, erase epidemics, counter schizophrenia. It’s been a miracle after miracle working in the world of real science. We’ve put people on the moon and are sending people to Mars soon. We have lazer surgery and have extended life expectancy and cured countless baby deforming disease in the womb. We, the real scientists, are daily faced with government restrictions because the politicos want committee meeting after committee meeting to discus their coffee breaks.  All the while I guess I see my brother having a curable disease, a mere cancer and I’m wanting all that bogus waste of money in the Climate Change Cult budget going where it needs to go, the cure of cancer.
So I went ballistic when Justin Trudeau won and took a 380 friend multi million victory party to Paris and  gave billions of dollars to the UN tyrants and killers for their bogus pseudoscience scam Climate Change.
Meanwhile I work each day with heroin and cocaine addicts whose pushers are driving ferrari’s and the police are unable to catch them because of the corruption in our legal system that allows drug dealers and their rich political friends to get around the law. Meanwhile I live in fear like every other Canadian that I will make any mistake because I know that the police will have a swat team on me and the Revenue Canada will freeze my accounts and send in a mob of consulting accountants if I make even the tiniest mistake,Meanwhile criminals and drug dealers and lying climate change cultists and fat cats galore get away with rank evil.
I don’t do well with politics any more. I have a flashing ‘suicide/homicide sign in my head and begin thinking of gassing myself and setting myself on fire because the sheer stupidity and corruption of the system sickens me.  Meanwhile I share on face books because I keep thinking I can wake up cabbages.
But we’re all really happy slaves.  Well fed.
One is mentally ill to question authority in Canada. One is perhaps even more mentally ill if one doesn’t at some time question God. Atheists might do well to question themselves.
Now the Muslim Migrants en mass are coming and I’m flash backing to the sheer terror I lived in during the IRA bombings in London and I know Justin Trudeau doesn’t care.  The elite are protected. They live here in West Vancouver. They don’t live in Kitsilano or Richmond, or even Shaughnassey. They certainly don’t live in the Downtown Eastside.
They have lear jets and howitzers and helicopters and private armies and if they get cancer they go to Swiss Clinics and Mayo and thankfully there is ‘trickle down science’ and we learn from the cures that they get for their cancer.
My brother is getting great care and the cutting edge in cancer treatment.  My parents had great medical care. Our family has had really good medical care. And I’m just afraid.  My Prime Minister is offering us marijuana and physician assisted suicide. I’m past retirement age but like all north americans we’re being told that we can’t afford to retire. I don’t want to retire. I just thought I’d have this trade and be able to practice this trade called ‘medicine’ wherever I went. It’s like a carpenter but now there’s a baurocratic tollgate for every action i take. there’s a tax on using the outhouse.
So I’m frustrated. I think the government is throwing money away on cronyism and not addressing the real issues. So I got involved in politics. I became a ‘critic’.  I’m spiritually supposed to be celebrating the positive and ignoring the negative.  I just can’t see any positive. It’s my perspective.
I don’t like being a critic. I like to sing Kumbaya and have group hugs and put my head in the sand like an ostrich. I like to meditate. I like to be  a hermit. I’m happiest alone in Canada’s north with a trailer a truck and a rifle and a dog. I occasionally like others for brief periods.
I like helping people, healing, know my chemistry and pharmacology but mostly like to watch ‘relationship therapy’ in action.  As my lawyer friend said, I saw you become a doctor and thought that if you can get through school so could I. Now I watch addicts and alcoholics stop drinking and drugging figuring if a loser like me can get through life without smoking cigarettes or smoking dope or getting drunk or shooting up, maybe they can.  I have far more pleasure and joy than the average person. i’m blessed beyond any desert I have. I’m grateful for the impossible mercy of the universe. I’m in love with life at times. I’m thankful to be human.  I know so much depends on perspective. I see the effects of my patients depression and mania on the same situation.  I know these things.
But I don’t like politics. I don’t like playing the critic even if I know it’s a game. I don’t think I’d like killing the enemy but I’d be a damn good sheep dog.
Right now we’re in a war of words.  We’re losing.  So much we took for granted like ‘freedom of speech’ is gone.  We have massive propaganda and marketing budgets keeping us collectively stupid. There is a conspiracy. It’s call the Elite or the state and you. I knew Reagan was an actor so I didn’t mind if he was a puppet at times. He was a believable puppet. Justin Trudeau is a high school acting student. He’s just not believable.  His insincerity is so transparent. I have to give him credit he’s trying.   I would rather celebrate the good guys but frankly I don’t see any yet on the other side. it’s not that our Prime Minister is so bad but it’s that ‘this is the best we as Canada can produce’, a high school teacher with a winning name and a cupcake body and Justin Bieber smile.  This is all we as Canadians can put forth.
I want a Winston Churchill even knowing I’d probably have been a critic of him or an Ataturk or a Jefferson.
I really must get back to talking with God. I truly believe he’s the one that’s the primary producer , director and writer of life so there must be something I’m not getting and it’s fundamentally in my relationship with God and not anything to do with cancer or Justin Trudeau or Migrant Muslims.
I’m aging and coming to terms with my death and looking back on my life and thinking that all those ‘ideals’ I believe in and fought for, and sacrificed for,  like ‘freedom’ ,are evaporating.  We know, too,  “Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose.” I think of that each day as I see the food lines and shelters and tent cities increasing in Canada.  There’s a great image in Dr. Zhivago when the smart money man looks out on the street at the starving people outside the restaurant.  I like Douglas Adam’s ‘Restaurant at the End of the Universe’ image best.
Maybe I fear I will be a prisoner of death. I’ve known always that homicide or suicide can free me from life. I say ‘homicide’ and mean, I could ‘hop on a plane’ tonight, fly to the front, whichever one, and join someone killing terrorists and no doubt get myself killed. I could walk out today and be a missionary doctor in Africa and die in the weekly persecution of Christians.  I am ‘free’ in this life.
But death. I think I’m afraid of it because I fear there will be no ‘freedom’ there.  So the encroaching totalitarianism in Canada makes me face the fact  that God has given me death around the corner and I’m not ready for it.  I realize I’m in this stream of life and I literally can not swim back against the rising pressure of history, biography and science..  My brother is no longer ‘free’ because he has a cancer, like a parasite, attached to him.  I know he wants with all his life to be free of this rebel within, this disease that goes against everything he believes in.
I’m sorry I’ve been angry with politics and government and all the media nonsense. I’m sorry I’ve argued with friends and strangers on Facebook. My argument is with god.  I know this.  I have faith but still that doesn’t mean I have to go quietly. My meditation these days is more a 'nails on glass' scream.  I’m past the point of ‘om’.  I’m not ready to say ‘amen’ either.

Taksim Gezi Park Riots, Istanbul, Turkey

My guide Mehmet Tetik pointed out Gezi Park when he first showed me Taksim Square.  I was more interested in the incredible monument to the truly amazing Ataturk one of history’s greatest soldiers and visionaries, a true statesman.  Ataturk was Turkey’s first president.
“This was where the riots occurred between the police and developers and students. Did you not see it in the news,”
Indeed, yes ,  I had. I’d followed the BBC filming of this, amazed at the numbers of people involved and the police with tear gas cannons.  “That was here!” I said somewhat.
Mehmet nodded.  I felt like I was at the site of modern history, a place like that in Berlin where the wall came down. Mehmet had been showing so much ancient history and yet here I was being showed in passing a bit of history of my own time. We walked on to the main street of New Town.
The park was so serene today with locals and tourists, women, children and old people enjoying this little oasis of green and tranquility in the midst of a bustling noisy city centre.

I thought of the urban developer I knew who studied what he described as ‘third spaces’. I remember him telling me that crime and discord could be directly related to the lack or presence of ’third spaces’ in a city.  A third space is different from the ‘first place’ or ‘home and the ‘second space’ or workplace in a city.  The third space were these other spaces that were the ‘anchors of community because they facilitated and fostered broader creative interaction. Oldenberg in his famous book, “The Great Good Place’ articulated this all. Obviously Gezi Park was just such a third space.
The Istanbul Modern Art Museum had an amazing black and white video of the Gezi Park riots.
My new friend, Deborah, a college professor, living hear Taksim Square had been kind enough to walk me through the conflict.  “The students were there but it was these politicians who couldn’t be arrested that were instant heroes as they stood before the bull dozers."
“It wasn’t radicals. Tens of thousands of ordinary people came out. There’s no other green space in Beyoglu like Gezi Park.  There was a sense that this government was like the bulldozers here so it was as much a metaphor.  There’s tremendous fear now about the government’s perceived destructiveness. Everyone loved Ataturk and Turkish people want democracy but there was a feeling that Turkey was becoming a police state. The Gezi Park Riots were at the centre of all this.  Then suddenly the police left, it was over and today we still have this park.  People saw this as a sign that the government could still hear the voice of the majority and wasn’t deaf as people had feared. “
We sat in a cafe enjoying coffee.  Some men came up wanting to interview us about the Charlie Hebdo murders in Paris. Deborah said how sad she was at  the loss of life and the tragedy of it all. I, typically , answered their questions with more vehemence.  “I don’t think murdering innocent people can be justified.  I think the murderers are just common criminals, sociopaths and psychopaths who have a desire to kill and use religion or whatever else is handy to justify their lack of civilization or social maturity.”  Deborah said she thought the young men had difficulty with translating words like “psychopath’ and ‘sociopaths’.  They did look a little befuddled after I’d spoken.
Gezi Park really was a lovely place. Deborah and I talked about our pasts and what had brought us to Istanbul.

Hannah Arendt and CBC Ideas

Last night I listened to CBC Radio Ideas show on Hannah Arendt.  Truly remarkable radio programming as is so common with the brilliant Paul Kennedy's Ideas Not only did we hear clips of Hannah Arendt herself with her amazing passion and force but also we heard several other philosophers discussing her work.
Her most controversial is obviously her discussion of Eichman in Jerusalem.  I read much of her book  when it first appears years back.  Having so enjoyed Jay Lifton’s , the Nazi Doctors, I loved Arendts summation that evil is banal.  There is nothing ‘radical’ about evil.  Her term ‘banality of evil’ derived from this discussion of ‘ordinary’ ‘thoughtless’ men lacking the capacity for true thinking. Her studies on totalitarianism caught my attention years back when I read  Erving Goffman's classic, Asylums. I was a psychiatrist in a major asylum at the time and everything Goffman wrote about this "total institution' was true.  Arendt's philosophical insights dovetailed with Goffman's sociological profundity.
Arendt was mostly interested in freedom. On CBC Ideas, one commenter said she’d be very concerned today about our tendencies to large government with even larger beaurocracies.  It really was the bureaucrats that made Auschwitz so frightening.  Like Kafka’s Castle the people were doing their disconnected tasks.  Everyone was ‘performing’ a job without consideration of the whole.  Today the Matrix movie takes this idea to the natural end.
The point is about morality and Arendt believed that for morality a person had to have the capacity to think.  She saw the horror and cruelty of thoughtlessness as truly disturbing.
Born 1906 she died 1975, a truly extraordinary thinker.
I’m thankful to CBC Ideas for their insights into a subject I’d already taken an interest is so could appreciate how thoughtful the programming had been.  I’d gladly listen to the CBC podcast again.

Unauthorized Sexuality

Unauthorized sexuality - I find it amusing to consider that today all manner of sexuality is no longer authorized. A teacher was told in class that Romeo was 'stalking' Juliet.
Asking a woman, or even a man, out on a date can be considered 'sexual harrassment' and whether it is or isn't is decided by the 'subjective sense' of the accuser. "If it feels bad, it is bad" is new subjective perversion of the 'my truth' is 'the truth' generation.
When the Canadian public voted that sex between consensual adults was a private matter the courts of Canada climbed in the vacated bedrooms. "One needs a lawyer" to ask a woman out says a wealthy friend.
"Women have always wanted everything, so they want 'sexual harrassment' and 'rough sex' and always on their terms and in Canada they've got it.
"It was the worst day of my life when I told my two sons that the greatest threat to their futures were the women in college with them," my female professor friend confessed.
"I lost respect for Gloria Steinem when I attended her lecture and she played to the 'pity party' card and claimed herself to be a powerless woman. There have always been rich and poor and she was rich the day she was born. Priviledged with beauty and brains and a serious lack of morality." My female psychiatrist friend told me.
I think this all came to mind when I read an article about gay men becoming so conservative as to accept only 'marriage' as acceptable sexually.
I then read that Obama is giving the President's medal to Gloria Steinem and frankly I thought of Roseanne Barr's comment about "Christian Rock - What's next, Christian Porn."
So hearing Gloria Steinem was getting the President's award , I thought, who's next, Jerry Springer?
I have a delightful book which compares the greatest gender gaffs of the century placing a bozo female remark beside a bozo male remark. I love the enlightenment of true equality. But Animal Farm taught us long before UN Agenda 21 that 'some animals are more equal than others'.
Today all sex must be 'authorized'. We once lived in the land of the proud and free. Maybe Troudeau knew too well that when he said the 'state has no place in the bedrooms of the citizen' that by talking about it as Prime Minister he made public and thereby 'sanctionable' and ultimately controllable and taxable 'all sex'. Troudeau would have liked UN Agenda 21 and his son's promotion of a 'stoned electorate'. The last thing politicians want is for even gay men and women to have 'straight' thinking on the day of the elections.
The sad fact that Starr had to bring to the attention of the American populace was that Clinton didn't even know that a blow job was 'sex'. Technically it might not be adultery with adultery laws so tied to family and procreation but to deny having sexual relations with a person when your cock is in their mouth is the kind of thing that only a Carl Hiiansen satirical novel would do justice to.
Russ Limbaugh, before or after or during drug treatment, said that 'feminism was a means whereby ugly women got the pick of the crop" by outlawing men approaching women leaving only the top choices to the machismo sisters ready to step up and tackle their men'.
Sexual harrassment studies, especially the elegant 'water fountain' research have show these laws as the most bigotted, racist and disgusting of all times. Countless successful men have told me that the 'going rate' for "false sexual harrassment" extortion in the workplace is $1 to $5000. "It happens when we fire them for theft in the workplace or other such matters. " "We just pay", they say, "the courts aren't about truth and certainly they're not about justice.". That may be true in the area of gender wars but certainly not in other areas of the law, thankfully. The fact is no man wins fighting a woman any more than a heavyweight boxer wins fighting a lightweight boxers. Now that women are themselves successfully competing in sports they're quickly beating the snot out of their lesser sisters. Indeed the day may dawn when Mrs. Churchill finally beat Eva Brawn. As it is according to Gloria Steinem only Winnie beat Adolf since the war against Nazism was only a war of men against men.
However, the promise of feminism, has as so many such 'revolutions' of the 'communist era' , in this case 'social communism' with the "Woman as the Nigger of the World" according to dead Lenin, not crucified, by shot by a mad man instead, promised, failed. Divorce is up. Anomie is up. Child abuse is up. All the measures of social success for society are associated with a major decline. All women leaders have taken their countries to war and even though their are women in the military, just like the Israelis, they're rarely in combat zones. Before blacks were integrated into the military generally their 'black units' proved themselves. No "female units" have similiarly 'proved themselves' despite the great success of the female hockey team against the american hockey team or the Canadian female marksmen against the world's snipers. Women as individuals have been long outstanding going back to the Mary's of the Bible and Cleopatras of Egypt and the matriarchal leaders of recent and ancient Scotland. The most powerful person in Australia is female and Canada continues to have a Queen for a monarch. Ignoring the Queeen and the First Ladies' is the great 'lie' of "domestic feminism'. International feminism by contrast has been more what 'women's liberation' was about back in the pre Gloria Steinem sensationalism. Back then it was 'meritocracy' and not 'mediocrity'. The feminist leader of the Ontario liberal party would have half the 'board room's' of Canadian businesses 'womandated' to be 'gender balanced'. When will we have a similiar demand for hair lipped and people over 6 foot tall and perhaps Jamaican ancestry or fat eskimos. This is 'tokenism' and clearly 'inferior' people whatever their background require 'tokenism' whereas the 'best pilot' should fly the space shuttle, not the 'one with the most cafe au lait spots.'
No sex is authorized today. Life is denied. Humanity is 1984. It wasn't that long ago that the church outlawed everything but 'missionary position'. Bishop Spong's treatises on this history of Catholic elder men deciding pre science on what constituted an intact hymen is nearly Monty Python except it's terribly true and resulted in countless women being burned at the stake. The irony is today the State is being encouraged to dictate to gay men what is 'authorized sexuality'.
Yesterday, a friend told me how he'd been beaten near to death by hockey sticks weilding homophobes. Only in Canada.
