Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train
Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, a play by Stephen Adly Guirgis was presented last night at the Pacific Theatre. A guest production by Glass City Theatre, it runs from March 11 to April 2. This is deeply moving, exhilerating and disturbing play about justice and prison. Robert Oguin played prisoner Angel Cruz whose favourite response is "I don't know' or 'maybe' at the opening of the play. . Carl Kennedy played prisoner, Lucius Jenkins, recovered coke and heroin addict, serial murderer, born again Christian. Andrew McNee played the unbelieving sadistic guard Valdez. Evan Frayne plays the believing compassionate guard. Kerri Norris played Mary Jane Hanrahan, idealistic disillusioned lawyer who believes there's got to more than 'legal justice'. Producer Michael Wipf and Director Angela Konrad. This 2 part play was packed. The actors received standing ovations and curtain calls for their outstanding performance. Every wavering or certain Christian and everyone in recovery needs to see this play.
