Absent Sister

Absent Sister

-william hay

The absent sister took all my mother’s love.

There was no daughter to love her.

No daughter to be with her in old age.

The hole in the heart of the family

Where the sister would have gone

Was never filled, so love leaked out

And tears flowed in.

Now all I want is a dog, a cat, a house plant

and tropical fish.

That seems overwhelming:

So little love left over after a day of giving.

Life blood flows out for sisters never satisfied

Their mother love it’s own empty hole.

One women plays abound.

I left the theatre preferring cartoon

Myself and computer becoming cyborg.

The Tin man following Alice down the rabbit hole.

Batman, superman and Wylie Coyote.
