Homosexuality and Reproduction

Homosexuality, men having sex with men, is principally an issue for the family and community if there is exclusivity.  Bisexuality has never been such and issue. Lesbianism similarly, though quite common, does not pose a threat to the family or community except where there is exclusivity.

Throughout history reproduction has been associated with increase in the size of the family and tribe.  Children were viewed historically as ‘tools’not as the ‘pets’ they are to many today.  The same was true of dogs and cats. Their purpose was to serve the parents, family, and community. 

The larger the family the greater the wealth and protection.  Anything that conflicted with this was ‘taboo’.  Hence homosexuality wasn’t about the form of intercourse or even anal or oral sex.  Homoxexuality and lesbians were normal in ancient religions, in Hinduism, (see the temple carvings), in animism, in Islam and Greec e and Egypt and certainly in Africa.  The issue for the family is the refusal to reproduce not the act per se.  Where men and women were bisexual there was no issue.  

All discussion of LGBT must to be responsible consider that ‘selfishness’ is at issue.  Parents wanting a dynasty are challenged by children wanting same sex relationships.  Even today Islam with its multiple wives and sex with men and women but promotion of the reproductive female and the slave girls is productions twice the population that other religions are producing.  They openly say they will win the war for religions by superior reproduction.  Bisexuality and even bestiality were not uncommon in anxient times but women reproduced and more wives and younger wives and slave girls ment larger armies.  Bisexuality was accepted as long as reproduction carried forward.  Refusal of men and women to reproduce was however an issue for the family and community and survival of the army and empire.
