Of course I have the feelings
But I'm not a teen ager any more
Feelings have lied as often as ideas
There's no more truth in feelings than there is in thought
I felt and thought she was a human
Until I smelt the sulphur and saw the hooves in the light of day
He spoke a mighty fine phrase and was convincing
Until he morphed into a creature of a different age
It's not that age is any wiser
It's just that fraud seems less unusual
So little novelty remains in crime
Yet it's there in every time
I'm sure I have the feelings
And I think I have the thoughts
It's just that so little truth remains in love
In this age of feelings and of thought.
