Moscow State Museum

I can’t read the writing so I can’t appreciate a museum as much as where I know specifically what it is I’m looking at.  The Moscow State Museum was laid out in three floors of a building sequentially from cave man to Victorian times. It was possible without getting bogged down in details to watch the incredible advances that have occurred in human civilization and ingenuity.  There were tools of war but also the artistic and religious achievement.  I especially liked the boats and sailing ships.  Russian ships did come to Canada to trade with the Haida in the 1800’s. Then there were the sleighs, troikas and skis. I didn’t see any of those in Greece. A whole room full of gold.  Having been to so many of the greatest museums around the world, especially loving the British, recently the Greek and Italian, and appreciating Canada’s and America’s despite their youth, I loved this museum. Such a sensitive selection. History is so intriguing.
