And cherry blossoms
Not many but early
Hopeful, colourful
Characters, they were
Explorers, adventurers
Darlings of the new world
I noticed them
They stood out as daredevils
Against the recent snow and sleet
Real trendsetters and go getters
These were.
I loved them for their zest
I saw heather blooming
Yesterday
For the first time
This year
2011
I have hope
Hope that I'll live the year
The planet with me
Friends and family
Prospering
Thriving
If the heather can do it
And the cherry blossoms
So can we
It's in the promises
