Journal - Princeton Autumn

Another lovely autumn day in Princeton BC.  So enjoying the view of the view with the leaves changing on the trees.

I’m resting on my laurels still from shooting deer and gettting it out and to butcher with help of Kamal and Victor.  Every once in a while through the day I remember the shot and reflect on the meat being processed and that I’ll have venison barbecue and stew through the winter. I realized that there’s another little fridge on Thor so I’ll have room for the deer in that. I believe it will stay freezing or I could replace it with a little similar sized freezer. They’re about $300.  I’ll decide when I pick up the meat from the butcher hopefully next week.

I talked to Henry and asked him to winterize the camper. I believe I’ll pick up what I need and ensure it’s stowed so there’s no attraction to mice.  I may be able to do that on the same trip. Next Friday I have the motorhome in Dam’s having the Hvacs done so will be pleased with heat and a/c for the driver’s compartment.

It took me several days to physically recover from the shooting and hauling deer.  I had to take Robaxin for sleep for a couple of nights but am back to ibuprofen in the morning.

I’ve confirmed Madigan has his vaccinations for going south and has an appointment booked for grooming.  I will get the American travel form in the next couple of weeks for him. I just confirmed my Belairdirect Travel Insurance for the 90 days I’ll be out of country. I leave Dec. 11 2026.

I’ve worked the last couple of days and have an afternoon of work to complete today before I’m off again. In the morning we leave. I called E&H Hitch and discussed the wobble I experienced for a few minutes coming down the last steep #3 section and breaking to quickly.  I’ve read Grok and looked at various sites and was reassured that it really was most likely due to the speak and braking and not anything intrinsic to the systems.  I decided to take the longer way home going north through Merrit then down the Coquahalla 4 lane freeway because it was so easy last month when I travelled home on that. I’m a bit anxious about the steep 2 lane winding mountain road. There was even snow in Manning Park.  Tomorrow weather forecast for Coquahalla is good with sunshine and no snow or major winds

All is well.

Thank you God . Thank you Jesus.
