Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Winterhaven

I departed Fountain of Youth RV at 930.  I’d been concerned about loading the Vespa. It turned out that the leveling jacks lifted the back end of the Thor.  I learned to unload and load the Vespa when the jacks were off and the Thor was on its own tires.
I was nostalgic about leaving. I missed the Thursday night meeting.  Tired with work and we’d been distracted by having burgers at the grill. What a wonderful place.  I expect to return in a couple of weeks on my journey home.
The trip to Algadones was just fine. I’m enjoying driving the ‘bus’ and not so concerned about the noises and the traffic.  I do have to pay attention. It’s a lot more tiring that driving a car. At a couple of hours I was tired.  Thankfully I had a thermos of coffee for the last stretch.
I’d filled up with gas in Niland and after passing the Imperial dunes with all the quads and toy haulers I turned off at Sidewinder and filled the propane.
Quechen Therritory and the Casino.  Then Sleepy Hollow.  Wonderful Friendly place. The RV park was pretty full but fond memories looking at the dog park.  Madigan was so pleased when we got back there.
I unloaded my Vespa but again didn’t consider that a couple of inches counts. Fortunately as I was struggling to run it off to the ground a neighbour Steve came over and watched the front for me.  I worry at these times I don’t have the tires aligned and the bike can jump out of the slot.  Steve had a Harley. We talked Harley. He’s from Florida  Texas area and first time here.  Had a really beautiful wife and cute little dog.  Good guy.
I then had the jacks up and leveled and the slides out. I ‘d plugged into 30 amp and put out the sewer hose but the new water hose I’d bought at the Fountain of Youth was 2 inches short. Madigan was glad for a walk to the store. They had an attachable 25 foot hose.  With the water hooked up we were good to go.
I was pleased. Not too hard stowing and heading out. And really easy unpacking and setting up.  I’m getting more efficient and faster.
I figured I’d walk over to Algadones Mexico and set up a dentist appointment with St. Thomas.  Madigan enjoyed his time in the big dog park. No friends but lots of running about and sniffing. Once that was done I headed to the border.
