Thank you God for my night of rest. I have known countless nights awake on call in hospitals and community. I have been a wake nights at sea through storms unable to sleep for slept meant death. I have had so many nights with nightmares, the faces of the dead and the constant judgement of the ungodly perfect superiors. I have played to you Lord but being a people pleaser I have tried as well not to offend the devil. The devil rules this land and I am sorely afraid. But I beg for your mercy. These are the times Isaiah prophecized of the “long necked women and their boys”. There have been so many nights sleepless at the bedside of sick and dying. My dogs loss of his remaining eye this week has been terribly trying, but it is good that he is well now. Thank you for the night of rest.
Thank you for the recovery of my dog. Gilbert. He was only awake once last night. Whimpering for attention. Lonely and afraid. I am pleased each day as his life is restored. I am thankful that his life is no longer being threatened. I am thankful that he is recovering. It was such a gift this morning that George, the rescue cat, came out into the living room, walked up to Gilbert and put his head inside Gilbert’s cone of shame and rubbed noses. Gilbert’s tail wagged. He’s been bored more now. Unable to play with the cone on. Frustrated, and here was George making contact.
Thank God we are not alone. Even if this is a mental created illusion of me and others it’s better than that deep sense of despair that I feel at times when I touch the isolation and existential angst. Thank you for the Holy Spirit, the advocate sent by Jesus to comfort us who are Christians. I find comfort in that sense of connection with God.

I enjoyed reading the article of Putin's time as a nihilistic KGB agent infiltrating the European 'hippy' scene, undermining peace and recruiting operatives. I remember meeting such an operative when I was in the Peace movement and wanting disarmament but suddenly this focussed fellow insisted we should unilaterally disarm and demanded it. It was so strange and I'd not trained as a group psychiatrist then so didn't know as I witnessed it, this hijacking of process. The whole group had been promoting bilateral disarmament and then this fellow began to speak up vociferously, well trained, and insisting with much emotional and shame that good people would lay down their weapons first and that we could trust the aethesist communists. They were just like us. Everyone wanted peace, he said. I know today that's not the case that so many want war. They profit from it, like Lenin and the UN. Many like to play with it and see if they can 'control' it and direct it's forces. I see it all like a cattle stampede and the young wealthy sons and daughters of the elite riding to the front and having stampeded the cattle now try to direct it to where it profits them most.
Today it’s Harvey Weinstein. There was no consequence to the woman who complained that Trump groped her 40 years ago. There is no consequence in the courts or in society today for ‘false accusations’. There is no consequence for all those who through sins of omission and through 'enabling' supported the Harvey Weinstein's of the world. The fake news, lying on the grandest scale is huge profit. Fake news has been caught repeatedly as the alt-left, CNN and CBC have worked their propaganda angles doing fifth columns from within. No one is punished for lying. Goebbels reigns and it's all just 'white washed as marketing'.

I self reported that I was smoking marijuana and went to AA to address my smoking marijuana and nicotine and drinking. The drinking was a minor issue relative that when I drank I smoked marijuana and hence had to stop drinking because by definition this was alcoholism, as I persisted in doing a criminal act which held risk despite my realization of this. I saw a psychiatrist who recommmended I smoke marijuana and discussed my wine drinking with him as I was considered a wine connoseiur at the time. He felt that I didn’t have a problem but understood the ethical and moral dilemna that’s I had with ‘breaking the law’. Marijuana was against the law and so many I knew had gone to jail and otherwise had their lives ruined by their contrary behaviour. I could get get my ex wife to seek help as her behaviour was far far worse and that impaired she was a danger to herself and others but refused to seek help.
I don’t believe Justin Trudeau sought help with his addiction to marijuania and I don’t believe Morneau is seeking help with his addiction. If anything I expect both are speaking to lawyers and marketing agents to improve their lying and dissembling. They lack remorse. So the elite see lawyers and the poor see counsellors. I doubt that Harvey Wallenstein or Bill Clinton will any time soon attend one of those mandatory sexual behaviour group counselling sessions the Justice Institute sells so vociferously for huge profit.
Now I’ve held myself to the highest standards of ethics and morality despite the constantly moving end point of political correctness. I’ve never raped or sexually violated a woman. I have fought for women’s rights and been ridiculed and shamed and beaten for supporting 'equality' and 'fairness' and meritocracy. I've insisted gender, sexual orientation and other such factors should not decide who flies the plane. I’ve been celebrated repeatedly for my “non discrimination”. I've challenged based all the false flags and false values. I've have faced the wealthy and powerful on behalf of the principles and poor. I have been physically attacked repeatedly for defending women and LGBT members and yet today the lies pile on and on. The cost to me personally has been in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Increasingly the “emotionally abused’ insist that they are ‘more’ harmed that those who have been shot and beaten and raped. This is of course the age old demand for the girl who has it all to claim that she is a greater victim. It’s Sense and Sensibility.The courts have been taking smoking pot or are grotesquely power hungry like our present Government and are increasingly removing them selves from the realm of objectivity to subjectivity. Objectivity is all that the poor have had to balance the power of institutions, corporations and the elite, despite the latter's capacity for manipulations of 'evidence'. The Judge becomes all powerful in the court of 'subjectivity'. This was what was once called the Kangaroo Court and was what always reigns in Communist revolutions. The judge plays to the crowd and fears for his position so is politically correct.
The Assistant Registrar at the College of Physicians and Surgeons said “Women Don’t Lie About Sex”. This is not out of context. This is reality. Brexit and Canada
The United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union.
There are two forces in history which are always at play. These are centralization and decentralization. Authority can be democratic or autocratic. The sad story of the European Union is that it had the opportunity to be a democratic organization, a federation as it were of equal ‘states’ or ‘countries’ but increasingly it took on the character of the USSR. Rather than following the US model of ‘state’ versus ‘federal’ authority, with all it's checks and balances, including the second amendment, Merkel made the European Union in the image of the communism she knew and revered, All leftists love the promise of power that comes with government committee dictatorship,. Despite the hundreds of millions killed by communists they claim to celebrate diversity while killing any opponent. Not surprisingly they ally today with "Islam is a religion of peace", except Islam describes only those who worship Allah and Mohammed. All others are persecuted or killed. The devil is in the detail and the language but both demand 'political correctness'. The end result is a hegemony of power in the hands of an elite and their administrative henchmen and henchwomen.
Communism is increasingly socialism ruled by layers upon layers of apparatchiks and laws upon laws with declining common sense and an amazing unwillingness of this liberal elite to listen to the ‘ignorant’ and “irrelevant’ democratic masses within each country. Committee dictatorship is the better term for socialism which goes with this Lipstick and Limousine Liberals elite
Justin Trudeau wanted the one world order offered by Brussels. Justin Trudeau’s doesn’t care for the common Canadian values but loves the jet setting elitism of his his reign so far. Billions of Canadian tax payer dollars given away to the United Nations. Canada is peddled to foreigners for Liberal privilege and influence. Canadian traditions and values are denied.

There’s a different way. It’s called “Our Way”. Brexit didn’t reject ‘Our Way” . Britain rejected Brussels communist centralism.
I don’t reject Canada. I reject Justin Trudeau’s dictatorship,arrogance and bullying ignorance. Perhaps Canadians will get the courage to reject tyranny earlier than Britain. I don’t want Trudeau’s United Nations with all it’s communism,dictatorships and it’s celebration of tyranny with all it’s lies.

Jesus, Parables and Climate Change
“He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said: “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed . When I read this, I remember that a puzzle ceases being a puzzle once it is solved. Jesus taught the Kingdom of God, the message simply, that there is a higher power, a heavenly power, that is more powerful than any earthly power. I sometimes think of Heaven as “Haven”, a safe place. The world around seems so often frightening. I fear I’ve lived a life of anxiety. But I was taught, "Anxiety is a measure of one’s distance from God and equally a measure of one’s humanity."
The great Christian theologian Kierkegaard taught, "Life is suffering unto death." Christians believe that this finite world is of secondary purpose to the world to come, after death. Scott Fitzgerald, the Christian psychiatrist, who wrote the Road Less Traveled, saw this existence for each man, a kindergarten. Despite the moaning and groaning of students, the real work begins after school. St. Paul taught that we had to put off the things of children though paradoxically Jesus taught we had to be like children to come before the Lord. We had to be reborn. St. Paul taught that now, we ‘see through a glass darkly’. The Celtic monks saw life as a journey which continued after death.
The Message of Jesus, first seek the Kingdom of God. When we are fully awake we will see life and death as one. We will also understand all that has passed as what was necessary to bring us to that point of transformation. The catterpillar, no doubt like man, complains of all the horrible things that happen to this sluggish creature until one day the caterpillar becomes the butterfly and all that is past is forgotten. As children we complained about our cribs and were angry with parents who made us go to school. My dog doesn’t even like that I clean up his poop. Children don’t like discipline any more than old ladies like doing sit ups.
Yet the greatest leaders were first the greatest followers. For to learn one must let go of pre conceptions. The parable about the seeds speaks to the closed minded, those whose minds are like the paths, pavement parking lot minds, where nothing gets in. The Message of Love is entertained by all the glitzy crowds. As adolescents we sang , “all we need is love’. The romance novels proliferate. I say I love you but like half of North Americans I’ve divorced and ‘justified’ it, and ‘rationalized’ it. I’m like the debtors who want their ‘debt’ written off. We all want a second chance. In this life some are given countless chances while others die. In this life there are layers of buffers for those with wealth and priviledge and private armies but with such power comes it’s own set of fears and anxieties. Each of us has our own challenge each and every day but we prefer to deny our own part and point our fingers at others. We blame and judge freely and are like those who receive the Word but only superficially. As quickly as not we slip back like addicts who at the first or hundredth opportunity pick up a drink or drug or turn to porn, prostitutes or gambling. There are no roots with us or them, then.. We didn’t let the seed grow deep because we were shallow thinkers and shallow people who wanted quick fixes and easy rewards. Hollywood lies about the greatness of love of strangers. It has repackaged lust as love. It claims in a thousand stories that this new love is the like of the old love of friends who’ve been together 50 years in intimacy and work, creating lives of heroism and sacrifice and dynasties. Deceitful wealth taught us , “Sha, na, na, na,na, na Live for today”. It was always such with children with credit cards who didn’t work or had parents, slaves or other tax payers to pay for their folly. It was a different message from Carpe Diem or another Jesus parable about keeping lamps lit. .
Erich From wrote the great little book Art of Loving which differentiated clearly between falling in love and standing in love. Jesus teaches that we must stand in love, let the Word grow within us, hold onto the Message, let time and nurturing allow for roots to take hold. We must open ourselves.
Grace is the unwarranted gift of God. Grace is like the sunshine. We have it. We have always had it. We don’t know why it’s there yet it gives us life. Sun worship is one of the first spiritual experiences of humans collectively. Pagans have Sun Gods and Sun God worship. Constantine who institutionalized Christianity, taking the teachings of Jesus and making them into a State Religion of the Roman Empire, which later became the Roman Catholic Church, was a Sun God worshiper. This is why so much pagan Sun God symbolism and worship crept into the new Gentile/Israeli homogenized religion. Roman Catholicism to this day remains a State Religion, the Vatican, it’s own country with it’s own police, army , stamps and boundaries. The Church of England, Anglicanism, Episcopalianism, is also a state church, though slightly more distinct from the nation state that founded it.

Great black crows and vultures that swooped down on the son of God and killed him in a time space extravaganza action movie of all time.
Then one day, the STATE, made an unholy alliance with the religion of man and the religion of God. Much of Sun God worship still exists in this New Christianity of post Nicea. The Nicene Creed is the agreement between STATE and Christians which saw the end of the persecution of Christians and allowed the politics to get on with making strange bedfellows. All religions are the feet of spirituality. It is where God touches earth. It’s the muck our faith grows from. It is the outside. St. Theresa of Avila taught this well in her book, Inner Castle.
The Mystery is the darkness that is in all religions because man makes religions as he/she makes nations. Yet if a woman questions the State Religion Book, the Koran and wants to be a leader, well, Isis will behead her too.

Quantum Physics and String Theory teach us scientifically today that the world may well be a great Matrix, a Shrodinger Cat box of energy and matter, inner and outer, As the Bible taught we are created in the Image of God so the universe is much more than the imagination of God and we are co creators of this dream of life and death. Freud's Last Session, a play by Mark St. Germain
Freud’s Last Session, a play by Mark St. Germain is showing at Pacific Theatre, April 24 to May 30, 12th and Hemlock, Vancouver. We loved it. I am a psychiatrist so that made the play a must see. Anything with Freud is required viewing by our ilk. What made it especially a treat was that it was really a discussion and debate between CS Lewis, the Christian theologian and S. Freud, atheist psychoanalyst. Just hearing the writing of Mark St. Germain as it touched on the key issues of the 20th century, sex, suffering, war, life after death, biology, destiny, was so refreshing. I read the discussions of even 50 years ago and realize that as reality television talk show video game society we have collectively lost the level of communication that was normative one time when people actually relied on discussion as communication.
The play is situated within an amazing set thanks to Carolyn Rapanos. Ewayne Frayne played CS Lewis and Ron Reed played Freud. If ever you've imagined historical characters, you can appreciate how enjoyable it is when they come alive for you so you forget it’s a play and forget they are actors. That’s what this was like. Frayne and Reed made both great men come alive and as well made them acutely human and terribly real. Mark St. Germain’s writing has a wisdom and compassion that leaves one appreciating both antagonists as equal and together. There is none of the simplistic reductionism so common today. None of the comic book writing. It’s that real and human. Director Morris Ertman brought out the very best in the play and these amazing actors.
I left feeling better about life, enriched and uplifted. I was even thankful to be a psychiatrist and even more thankful to be a Christian. Sigmund Freud and CS Lewis have contributed so much to my understanding of life. I had gone to the play with friends and we talked about the play long after it was over.
The intermittent playing of the old radio on the set, with news of Hitler and invasion of Poland, was a poignant touch that grounded the actors discussion in the stark reality of that time. Gas masks and air raid sirens punctuated the play. I personally can be so complacent in Canada forgetting that much of the ideologies I’ve learned from were crafted in a fiery cauldron. These men weren’t like intellectual activists today. They were struggling with life and facing death coming to conclusions which not surprisingly have outlived them.
A truly remarkable play. I’m so thankful that Pacific Theatre chose this pearl for the last of their season.

Ulyanovsk, Russia
Ulyanovsk is the birthplace of Lenin.(1870 to 1920) Lenin was the adopted ’nom de guerre’ of Vladimir Ulvanov, a pen name he used when writing political pamphlets. Ulyanovsk was called Simbirsk until it was named Ulyanosk for Lenin in 1924. Lenin’s original name was Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov. He was the son of wealth parents, his mother the daughter of Jewish physician, his father a teacher of physics and math. He was raised Christian. His father died when he was 16 and his older brother Aleksander (Sasha) was executed for involvement in an attempt to bomb the Tsar. Lenin studied law at Kazan University. He worked as a lawyer. He lead the Bolshevik faction against the Mensheviks. He was living in exile but returned to Russia when the February Revolution of 1917 ousted the Tsar. Lenin decreed the execution of the priests and expropriation of their property. Estimates of deaths of the Red Terror range to a million. He died in 1923 of three strokes possibly a consequence of syphilis.
Lenin was an atheist and believed socialism was inherently atheistic. He was married to Nadezhda Krupskaya a fellow Marxist but they never had children. She was a subordinate wife.

The taboo of cannibalism is kept in check until the leader falls then the stupid masses eat him.
Lenin was obviously more sociopathic than his arch enemy Alexander. He and his regime were more murderous than the one they replaced. That’s if we don’t look back to the beginning of the Russian Empire. In it’s early days, as in the early days of any empire, (including the Soviet) there’s war and mass slaughter of ones enemies. Once a new leadership is established less killing in demanded. (Stalin is an exception but matters might have been different were it not for the Nazi invasion)

America right now is its rule of the skies and space.

Who knows what crackdown Lincoln would have had if he'd survived his assassination attempt. He could be likened to Moses to for he lead his people out of the desert and his attacks his own and others was certainly not dissimilar. Certainly I prefer Christians to atheists and raised in Canada supported Adams over Marxism-Leninism.
In the Bible there were the men trying to build the wall and whenever they picked up their hammers their enemies attacked them so they had to split their forces with half being soldiers and the other half being builders. By contrasts the ‘contrarians’ (the enemy) had only one aim and that was to ‘steal the wall’. They could devote all their forces to destruction.
Once the Communist Empire was in place it was faced with this greater difficulty of holding power.
Violence begets violence. In Canada today, according to my now dead friend, Dugald Christie, the courts are only serving the rich. Those in power then become an elite and increasingly since the ‘rules don’t apply to them’ and they act ‘above the law’ then the rest of the country feels less obliged to respect the law. As Canada becomes a ‘2 law’ nation it faces what all nations face to maintain power. Some figure the corruption in the Communist government lead to inferior production.
My Checkoslovakian friend who had fleed communism was nevertheless sorry to see it’s fall. He felt that America, when Russia was strong, had to be ‘good’ and now with ‘one world order’ there no longer was any need to be ‘good’. Rather there is a devolution into a chaos of infighting and tribalism. There is a new ‘anti white’ racism to replace the ‘anti black’ racism. The secular state attacks the religious. The Bible condemned in America while in Russia it's welcomed back. Perhaps Russia isn't behind in this regard? Personally, as a Canadian I think we're right but that's got a lot to do with basic patriotism. God save the Queen!
I think it must have been ‘heady’ days when Lenin and his friends were ‘reinventing’ the wheel and trying to make a ‘new world order’. The psychiatrist in me can only see the terrible sadness and tragedy of the man who saw his older brother killed, his father die when he was 16, the loving worrying mother .Then as an idealist himself he was wounded and nearly killed by assassination. It was a confusing life. There is much Doystoyevsky would have admired in the passionate man who had an ‘idea’ which lacked ‘heart’. But I’m a physician not a politician and I think in terms of individual lives not empires.
I’ve devoted my own life to not killing. I’d love to whack the opposition and reign holy terror on those who disagree with me but instead I’ve built my own faith around non violence. I can defend myself but I don’t feel right about attacking others especially to get what I want. I can certainly identify with Lenin. He was first and foremost a man, Indeed being of nobility and the educated upper middle class I can say he was like me. Theres a ‘scale’ difference when we consider the ‘greats’ but it’s only in ‘scale’. Jesus said, "Pluck the log out of your own eye before you try to take the twig out of your neighbours'. Again I'm thankful I'm Canadian but understand better now the patriotic fervour Russians have and how they admire Lenin as the Americans admire their Washington.
History will tell, but I don’t think his tomb will last long in Red Square. Even the Vatican buries it’s Popes underground eventually. The difficulty with leadership is it's always 'herding cats' and even Lenin couldn't get his last wish met, that is to be buried.

"There's a kind of complacency that passes for spirituality. This is best described as a spiritual materialism. Effete and pleasant, well mannered and inoffensive. Quaint, really. Yet it forgets well that all of the manners of chivalry came from fear and respect. We shake hands to show trust with clasping of weapons bearing right hands. There was always suspicion about the left handed for this reason. Long before the Jews and the Homosexuals we were suspicious about the left handed and even more so the devious twins. Worse were the hermaphrodites. And finally, the Christians. Christians are frightening awful people. They have a code of living and they alter the very nature of the community. When there's an orgy happening with all manner of drugs and alcohol and rape and pillage worst thing to bring to the party or have the party meet is a Christian. They're not a board room coffee clutch sort. It's not surprising to me that Emperor Constantine had an overnight conversion copied from the story of St. Paul, not even bothering to be original, because he needed the troops. The Roman army, these most disciplined and bloodthirsty of men had been infested with Christianity. Christians are in general "peaceniks". They're like the Buddhists right now warring with the Moslems and killing each other with rocket launchers and AK47's in Thailand and Cambodia. Everyone loves peace especially businessmen but not all the greatest families and countries of this world who make their money most from ammunition and guns. They're the drug pushers of war. And like Steppenwolf, I say, "Goddam the pusher man!" Still the English and allied troops of Great Britain saved us all from Hitler and Naziism. Christians rescued the jews and homosexuals and Poles from Auschwitz. It was the Dutch Christians who opened their attics to Jews and Christians who flew the spitfires in the Battle of Britain. It was Christian women who were the assassins in the French underground. They fought like St. Joan of Arc, that greatest of killing transvestite catholic saints. When the Communists of Russia killed 50 millions for their secular atheist regime, when the Chinese Communist atheists killed 80 million, and the Pol Pot atheist secular communist killed millions it was always Christians who intervened and put a stop to the slaughter of god hating men and women the world over. And yes, we all love St. Francis. He's the most pleasant sort of Christian subversive. Long before Occupy Wall Street St. Francis with far clearer vision was offering the world an alternative to hoarding and fight. Sure we'd all like to talk to birds but as Christians when there's a job to be done we're the first one's to pick up whatever tools are needed to do the job. Christians are Martha and Mary. We meditate and pray but then we act.
As Christians we are only required to turn our cheeks 70 times 70 times. There's clearly a limit to neglecting a problem. There is always a place for prayer but we are God's hands and feet. Christianity can be cozy and warm and sentimental. There's a Rockwell sort of picturesque quality to Christianity especially before Christmas when the lights are coming out. But the birth of Christ was followed by Herod massacring countless children under the age of 2. Telling the family that you are Christian is more disturbing and unsettling than saying you're planning on having a sex change. It's far more important than changing your vote from Liberal to Conservative or Democrat to Republican. It's a bit more than cutting your hair and getting your face pierced. Becoming a Christian is the most shocking disturbing event in a person's life. It's no wonder Christians are persecuted everywhere and laws are forever being enacted against them. Christians kick ass!
