Ethiopia - Lake Tana - Hippopotamus
What a great day on the water with a superb boatman. I had requested a trip to the monastery but asked if it was possible to see a hippopotamus I’d be delighted. It turned out a family of hippopotamus was situated at the mouth of the Blue Nile River. What marvellous creatures. My boat man Gashaw Workle got me close enough for pictures without disturbing them unduly. I don’t think anyone wants to disturb hippopotamus. They’re rather big.
